Honest thoughts on the Rafale?
>>64630964Why is it so small? Why is France so obsessed with carrier aircraft?
Indonesian Rafale.
>>64630964>poor man's F-16>has two enginesIt's kinda shit, ngl to you famalamia
It's a smaller, less advanced and less capable copy of the Eurofighter because of french arrogance and the lack of funds to develop a dedicated carrier craft.
>>64631130>"Jacques, we can trick le Germans into funding a sixth-gen carrier aircraft for us. Hon hon hon. They will never realize what we are doing!"What causes such idiocy?
>>64630964Looks cool from the front but shit from the back. Like an opposite butter face
>>64631130eurofighter blows horse cock and the rafale is BY far better
>>64630972It's literally their only point of military pride worth mentioning. Everything else has been retired or is trash meant to bully niggers. Charles De Gaulle by contrast is absolutely brag-worthy since it's the only real CV on the seas that isn't American
It’s the sexiest fighter from the front and that all I care about
>>64631900It would be one if the sexiest of all time if they could retract THAT DAMNED FUEL PROBE
>>64630964I think it's cool when countries do defense production in-house, makes their war thunder tech trees more interesting
It flys

>>64630964The Rafale, is fully the equal of the F-35, Su-57 and J-20 as a fifth generation fighter. Like the KF-21, it is a 4.5 gen with development potential to be further upgraded to fifth gen. That is why many countries, such as India, Indonesia, Qatar and the UAE which have requested F-35s or were looking at other fifth gen options like the Su-75 and KF-21, are now Rafale users. The Eurofag Typhoon meanwhile remains a 4-4.5 generation aircraft with no further development potential, and the countries who are using it primarily (UK, Italy, Spain etc) are all F-35 users and have no incentive to develop it further. If the Rafale was made by a non-NATO country, they would call it 5th gen.
>>64630964Expensive boutique fighter.
Don't forget that Indonesia's population is eight times that of Australia. In fact, the combined 42 Rafale and 36 F15 EX aircrafts significantly boost Indonesia's capabilities, even though Australia has 72 F35s. Rest assured, the Rafale and F15 EX's firepower is deadly, not to mention the additional J10C from China.
>>64630964When Indonesia buys Rafales from France, it can do whatever it wants with them. It can even buy spare parts in advance to be self-sufficient. When Australia buys F35s from the US, the planes must be in constant contact with American servers, otherwise they stop working. The relationship is not the same: in the first case, it's customer/supplier; in the second, it's master/slave.
