Im becoming .22 wmr pilled and idk what to make of that
>>64631899Yeah
>>64631899It's a good round. The problem is that .22 LR is so cheap that all the ballistically superior choices just end up ignored by anyone who isn't a hunter.
>>64631899Fuck yamudda
>>64631899Hunter? Considering 22WMR as well, probably a CZ, and despite knowing it's going to cost like $1.5k+ all in with a nice scope and silencer I don't have any hesitations. Just hope it works like I think it does; if 22LR supers aren't bad in a 16-18" barrel w/ silencer then I doubt 22 mag would be much or any worse in a ~20-24" barrel w/ silencer. That being said my 22 is still going to get lots of use. The 22 mag, I see it as something to compliment my 22 and widen my choices when hunting, not to replace it outright. No reason to swap it out for squirrels IMO. Bigger game, it depends. And 22LR can go very quiet as well at minimal cost.
>>64633432There are multiple good options out there for people who want a bit of more power than .22LR. In no particular order: 22WMR, 221 fireball, .17 HMR, .22 Hornet, 22-250, .223 Remington, .224 Valkyrie, .220 Swift, .22 Creedmoor, .22 ARC, 5.7, .22 TCM.You'll notice some of these just give a bit more power and are kind of nice, while others give a bunch more power but have more drawbacks such as the high cost or a short barrel life.
>>64631899how about some ratshot?
>>64631899Gateway drug.
>>64631899No anon, take the .243 pill.
>>64636011>22 TCMA good one I wish I was into. But why forget .218Bee?
>>64637886Basically, a .22-250 that doesn't get blown around in the wind.
I used to own a Savage 93 in .22 mag, I could hit a steel plate at 200 yards with iron sights, was a fun little rifle but the 10 round mags didn't work right when loaded to capacity. >>64637886>imagine when the AR rifle was introduced>it's chambered in .243 Winchester >kills 99% of gooks>win the warSeriously though the only problem I've heard about .243 is it wears barrels out pretty damn fast. I used to own a Sako Forester but I didn't shoot it enough for that to happen.
>>64636011Must've forgotten to hit "submit" earlier. I have a 22LR set up how I want, a second just a part away from being a good backup, and an AR, all with a scope. So I have two 22 options depending on game as well as an AR, all with a scope. I think 22 WMR would be a nice in-between for certain game; probably less drop, better for groundhogs over 50 and maybe slightly bigger game. Cheap ammo, too, even the good stuff. Good compliment to the guns I already have; I just hope 22 mag supers out of a ~20-24" barrel with a silencer are in the same range of volume as 22LR supers out of a 18" barrel with a silencer.
>>64636011I'm tired of .17HMR being sidelined, it's great and deserved the meme launch cult status.
>>64640550Despite being effective at what it does, our country just discriminates on that bullet diameter. People who love .17-diameter bullets and/or .25-diameter bullets are constantly getting the short end of the stick.
>>64640690>>64640550>.22 wmr necked to .17Hold on now son i wasnt privvy to that info, i may be also getting .17 hmr pilled then
>>64640849They're sweet. Inherited one with a thousand rounds. Great ballistics, exceptional terminal effect. Going to use it to take a nuisance fox soon.
>>64640931I want a revolver in it, i imagine its rather flat shooting in pistol ranges of shooting
