Better than handing them some rare gun with no parts availability, then hearing
>YEAPPP WE'LL GET IT FIXED IN A JIFFY
followed by months of stalling, excuses and stonewalling. Then you finally get it back covered in new scratches with every screw stripped and way more problems than it had before plus an obscene bill for wrecking your gun. The original issue it did have isn't even fixed.

Hey I'll work on whatever you want for free, I just can't guarantee it will look pretty but it will probably work (maybe). Also my warranty ends at the door.

Then refuse the item and sue them? Or better yet, actually do research on gunsmiths before giving it to bubba because you couldn't be bothered to drive more than 5 minutes from your house

Gunsmithing is a dead field, even "good" gunsmiths often butcher and bubba stuff. See: Mark Novak.

American 'gunsmiths' have no idea how easy they have it. You can just buy replacement parts online EZPZ. Most websites don't ship outside of the US. If I have to get a part I have to pray to god the local supplier has something, but usually its not new firearms needing gunsmithing, so you have to have a network of autists who would have a second hand part in a bin somewhere, or you have to make the part from scratch or modify it from something else.
