Could it work for home defense?I am from a country where firearms are almost impossible to get but these are not regulated
>>64635736Yeah it's good, buy a spear too and maybe a Bowie knife too
>>64635742A spear? To throw it?
>>64635736Are you fucking retarded? Even a 70lbs bow with hunting tips can kill a moose. You literally throw a knife very fast and very hard at something.Good thing you can't get guns, you retard would probably kill some random bystander with your retardation. Shame you haven't managed to kill yourself yet.
>>64635756Then why you can buy a compound bow but a pistol is forbidden?
>>64635751To lunge and jab at an invader and keep him at bay
>>64635756What a strange thing to have a melty over
>>64635781>be retarded fucking newfag who has not already seen a thousand "hurf durf I am a fucking retard who didn't even do the bare minimum research and instead ask my buttfuck retarded questions on /k/ because trolling is people is fun durr hurr">hurfdurf y u madkys you dumb nigger
>>64635768Because lawmakers everywhere are usually pretty retarded regarding gun laws. There are also some actual reasons why a bow is not the same as a gun, but explaining that would only lead to you waggling your head in a futile attempt to understand the matter.
>>64635801Look, not everybody is fucking Rambo when it comes to knowledge about weapons, that is why the keyboard has a question mark key.
>>64635736>Could it work for home defense?no, bows got nerfed after the battle of Agincourt and they can't really kill people any more, the TTK is too low for actual play.
>>64635785Usually I’d pay a pretty penny for salt of such high quality, but here you are giving it out for free.
>>64635815Battle of Agincourt? 1415?Nigga compound bows are way more powerful and they were invented in the 60s
>>64635801>Because lawmakers everywhere are usually pretty retarded regarding gun laws. That fucking retarded? Like one day they are going to go: 'shit we forgot about bows!!'
>>64635823oh, you're right. I guess they would fucking work then
>>64635768Only in your regionSerious answer: Most likely crime. When's the last time someone heard of a mass shooting done with bows?
>>64635768>Then why you can buy a compound bow but a pistol is forbidden?Neither is forbidden or even requires any sort of license where I live so I don't know the exact reasoning of the politicians where you are. But I'll speculate based on bars around here that are fine with rifles or bows but not handguns that it's basically about concealment and how easy it is for someone to whip one out in anger/retardation/schizoism by total surprise and then rapidly dump through a lot of shots. Restrictions aren't about defeating someone doing long term planning to specifically kill somebody, they'll be able to get around them in that case anyway, they tend to be about avoiding spur of the moment shit that everyone regrets later.tl;dr: you politicians consider you and your entire population to be equivalent to our angry drunks in bars.
>>64635785melty continues, nice. post a gun you own
>>64635736A crossbow is better in every way but yes a bow can work. You're only getting one shot though.
>>64635742>>64635777Spears fucking suck indoors.
>>64635990Lmao, the round occupies half of the barrel
>>64635829do you seriously have to ask? there's places where nunchakus and butterfly knives are banned, even though they're obviously inferior to a regular ass baseball bat or pocket knife but since they're used in movies by evil people they obviously have to be banned since that alone makes them a million times more dangerous.
>>64635751>A spear? To throw it?To stab the criminal guy who lunges you after you've shot at him but missed.
>>64635736>Could it work for home defense?Indoors bows are very cumbersome, if the limb slaps a door frame or wall or whatever on release it will pull the bow out of your grip
>>64635756>zero to meltie in an instantMethinks m'lady doeth project a touch too hard.
Like most of non-firearm weapons aren't strictly deadly with access to modern hospitals. You don't just need to hit them, you need to make sure no one calls an ambulance for at least fifteen minutes. Or cut their head off. They'll still fuck you up really bad but man, the amount of times someone's being arrested saying they killed someone and nuh uh, they got to a hospital in maybe an hour and they just pumped all the blood back into them.
>>64635736>Could it workYes. As pointed out already, there are issues with it being cumbersome. However, if you practice it around your own house for various home defense situations, it could be used. Even effectively. It will depend upon your experience and skill. And, one advantage that *could* be significant: if you end up in a court defending yourself for using one, you can make a case that you are both a hunter and skilled hobbyist who is into archery. It just happens that this was the closest weapon you had available when the home invader threatened your life. Using hunting broadheads is easier to justify if you have actual hunting credibility such as previous permits, etc. Makes it much less of a perception problem that you planned to murder another human being given any manufactured opportunity. Same case can be made for a baseball bat, but gets harder for specialized weapons such as spears.I don't really recommend it, but it's not as retarded as it's being made out in this thread, so long as you prepare ahead of time with skills and a solid cover story.
>>64636052this includes us, with laws against gravity knives and switchblades still holding on 100 years later in many states
>>64635736>watch Ranch Fairy500g or more single edge broadheads will full pass through any large game - including a better than 50:50 chances of popping straight through thick bone - at relevant distances, and would absolutely put a skinwalker on its ass. Cross bow reloads are impractical, where OP pic can have follow up arrows on tap immediately, holding spares in the other unused release fingers.
>>64637249Further— per 70lbs draw moose anon above, velocity is an absolute meme with arrows when it's entirely on broadhead grains/single edge and FOC. Assuming very close distance, even lower draw weight compound bows will be perfectly adequate.
>>64637249No one is getting a second shot off with a bow inside a single room's distance.
