I finally got to experiment with what SOG guys did in vietnam, use the canteen pouch to hold mags. Molle canteen pouch can hold up to 4-5 30rd 556 mags.
>>

They had to carry more mags due to the excessive mag dumping that everyone did in Vietnam

will it rattle when one mag is removed
>>
>>64641576
Magpuls too? IME you can stack more alu/steel mags than plastics
>>

Meh, I use various nonmag pouches for mags, like the USAF ABU handcuff pouch fits my FN FAL 10rnd mags just right. Or picrel woodland grenade pouch for Winchester M100 mags.

My latest joy is the USMC popup flare pouches for P90 mags. This is a big fix.

Nice. How many magazines would you find ideal to have on your person in a dire situation?

>zombies are dire

>youngest son stabbing mom and dad to death is dire
Kinda vague scenario, doodleski.

Then you dont remove a mag until youve shot all the other mags on your carrier. If you shot that many round…you probably arnt concerned with noise and probably want to do alot more shooting.

Infantry have always tended towards carrying as many reloads as possible on their gear ever since self-loading firearms became the norm.

No matter how good at shooting and disciplined against mindlessly mag-dumping on contact you are you're gonna miss a lot in combat and will need to regularly expend a lot of ammo for covering/suppressive fire so you run through it faster than you'd think even if you're not being wasteful.

I don't mind the noise just that it will bounce everywhere while running or dashing.

So get a motorcycle tire innertube and cut it into 4" sections, then slip them over your rattley mags as you run and dash.
>t. When was the last time you "dashed" anywhere, ever?

I'm active duty (not US).
>So get a motorcycle tire innertube and cut it into 4" sections,

Easier to just sew elastic band inside and lead a paracord outside, but for some reason I'll doubt you like it because of the looks

>what's a combat load

I like diy and any solution is better than no solution. Repurposing gear is MY meta >>64643729

Amazon chinko generic pull tab kit ($12?) installed on TAP replaces velcro flaps, picrel.

I miss the old /pfg/ general.
