Why is it not possible to make a modern nonairsoft AEG or a lever pump action air rifle with serious calibers like a 50 cal without a PCP tank?
Hell I'd even take an air rifle with a electronic self filling/pressuring PCP tank that you only need to charge the battery.
My point is I want a projectile weapon that I can easily make lead bullets for without needing casings, powder, prime, etc.

If you look at mechanical engineering technology today it seems like it should be possible.

>mechanical engineering technology today can defy the laws of physics
Lol.

You're retarded. It has advanced rapidly in the past 30 years. We've gone from break barrel .177s being the pinnacle or air rifles to full auto PCC big bores being readily available.

Basically what you want is an airgun with a compressor and reservoir attached to the gun?
Do you not understand how unnecessarily heavy that would be?

>Why is it not possible to make a modern nonairsoft AEG
Bwcause AEGs rely o spring force to launch the projectile. A spring large and powerful enough to launch a bullet at reasonable speeds would be gigantic and impossible to cock
>or a lever pump action air rifle with serious calibers like a 50 cal without a PCP tank?
You would have to pump it like 100 times for every shot

binging this on youtube makes me want to carry a service revolver in a suit/coat pocket oh and have a stout walking stick.

smokeless air when?

man this sucks
at this rate we really are going back to bows and arrows or crossbows when the AI apocalypse begins and all corporations are stopped from making guns & bullets

Dieseling with compressed powder or fuel. It is done and discontinued.

flintlock is what you want

So you want a way to generate the gas needed to propell a projectile on demand. If only we had the technology to generate gas in a confined space, without the need for bulky compressors or tanks to store it.
Maybe decomposing peroxide in the presence of a catalyst, or some oxidation reaction. I am sure we could figure out some form of chemical reaction that could generate the necessary pressure. And while we are at it, why don't we put this reaction compound with the projectile, that way the proper amount of propellant is provided, and followup shots can be loaded.

Compressing air takes a lot of energy
>>
>>64641699
Classic reference.
Entirely possible to make a self contained unit that includes a pump to pressurize the tank, but would have to be loud, heavy, slow and likely require a significant battery just to power it. Then you're left with recharging the battery.

Better solution would be to use a modern air rifle, such as

https://airforceairguns.com/product-category/big-bore-airguns/texan-lss/

And keep the tank(s) pressurized from an external pump powered by battery/solar combo or a generator.

You're a moron, anon. The pressures you need to handle to get enough energy to propel a lead bullet fast enough to be lethal is something that a simple pump, chamber and human hands can't handle.
>>
>>64641712
Just use a manual pump to top up between magazines
>>
>>64642635
That's the one shot guy from the tubes. Think he recharges his air rifles from a pump he hooks up to his truck battery.
>>
>>64642367
You should hurry up an patent that

See the girardoni air rifle

>he doesn't use Air II
NGMI
>>
>self recharging air rifle needs compressor attached to it
>Compressor needs power to run it
>Have large battery bank with solar panels or generator of some kind hooked up to it.
>Is now too heavy to be man-portable
>"Lightbulb"
>Make it automatic and increase size of slugs to 50cal/75cal and make it into a stationary/vehicle born heavy machine gun

I want my PCP HMG nigger

Because, unfortunately, the technology isn't particularly efficient and doesn't scale well. You can build airguns firing large enough projectiles at a high enough velocity to have ballistics very similar to conventional rifles - but they're expensive, a hassle to use, and have literally no advantages over a comparable conventional firearm. There's literally no reason for a company to pump research funding into the project, and even if they did it wouldn't achieve much.

Just get a turkshit pcp and a $150 hand pump. More powerful than a girardoni for $500. That thing was like 20 grand back then.
