You can't say you've made it unless you own a full wearable suit of medieval armour

You forgot a few items, the /k/ode of honor clearly states the following is necessary to have "made it" in retards (sic) to pre-gunpowder armor
>1) must own, in full, a suit of armor of sufficient quality to be considered field combat worthy, as would be judged from the period of time the armor is from
>2) the armor must be utilized in the active defense of one's domicile, property or associates from an individual or individuals of criminal nature or intent
>3) the hostile individual(s) must either be slain, injured, restrained or forced to flee as the direct result of physical actions of the applicant
>4) the applicant must be spared injury from the hostile individual(s) as a result of the armors protective qualities
>4a) in the case of the hostile individual(s) utilizing a firearm against the applicant, condition (4) will be considered met if a licensed medical, forensics or similarly qualified professional deems that the lethality of the projectile was compromised as a result of the armors protective qualities

none of this is pre-gunpowder.
they used cannon at Crecy in 1346
the real meta is realizing plate armor and firearms developed concurrently because the ability to produce large amounts of high quality metal economically is the bottleneck for both of those things.

Armor can and should be tailored to fit the body.

How much are these (purchase price, a genuine antique)

With modern technologies, could we make a custom fit set of armor cheaply/quickly? Like if you had all the measurements and an old school guy who designed it, and just cut out pieces of steel, bent them/treated, and spot welded?
>>
>>64662762
It'd be possible to make factory made suits of armour that fit you fine enough. Back during the late middle ages / early modern period, metal armour actually became very affordable to the common soldier through large scale production of demiarmor and cuirasses.
The huge price comes from having it be made to order by a tailor specifically to your measurements.

Depends on the quality of the materials. Maybe stamp or press moulding would help.

There's lots of metal processing equipment. Presses, bending machines, CNCs, etc. Mass-producing adjustable armor should be easy if there were demand.
Making 100% custom fits might need some development. I guess sintering some single-use negatives?
