Where does this idea that Rugers rust come from? I've only seen it here.
What's a good CCW holster for a p365 if I frequently wear a dress shirt (tucked in) + a jacket (would like to unzip it sometimes, maybe not fully though)? A shoulder holster?
>>64647790Their automatics, especially their budget ones, rust instantaneously. I remember one anon ordered parts to replace rusty parts and the parts had rusted in transit
Reloading 4 special and nugget revolver for the break. If it goes well I’ll have thousands of rounds for practiceAnyone else have a project?
>>64647776Can't take aesthetic photos with the cc-9 because it looks like a Sam Rami Spiderman Taurus.
>>64647831>44
>>64647796>rust instantaneous My security 9 and lcp2 says no. They took a dip in the river and were wet until we got home and are fine. Going over 6 years and not a spec. Do you remember what model this anon had?
>>64647776Another wednesday night wasted bidding up randoms on soon to end gunbroker auctions. Anyways, is the CC9 as much of a downgrade from the teased SFP9cc as it looks?>>64647831>that toe splayThis guy wears crocs.
>>64647831
>>64647841That's like saying a Colt Cobra looks like RIA m206.The quality difference is huge if you actually look at one. You are technically correct in that you can't see how much crappier the Taurus is in photos, but there's a big difference in build quality.
>>64647890What about the SFP9CC do you think is an upgrade over the CC9? Bear in mind that the SFP9CC hasn't even seen production or release and has zero public feedback about how it shoots.
>>64647796Most peole don't oil or grease their guns. It's one of the reasons Glocks jam in police bodycams all the time, because they're fucking bone-dry. A quick wipedown with an oily rage is enough to load the finish with oil and keep the gun from rusting.
>>64647910>respond to reloading post w TDSAnd you wonder why Candace seems reasonable by comparison Not a troon btwYou’re just very sick
What compels someone to buy a new Walther pistol in 2025?
>>64647978Suppressible PPK
>>64647978>implying new Walthers aren't quality firearms
>>64647988i'm just curious why anyone would pay more money for a less reliable glock with fewer holster options and lower parts availabilitydon't get all pissy with me
>>64647991Glock triggers and grips suck. 6lb is law enforcement standard. And all that pull doesn’t stop Glock legs.
I LIKE HANDGUNS BECAUSE I PULL THE TRIGEGR AND THEY GO BANG AND THE BULLET COMES OUT!
Gotta love how everything has a nefarious group behind it these days
>>64647991>the Glock is the only acceptable strikerShoo. Go bother another thread. Maybe you'll find someone dumb enough to engage with you
I think the satanic pedophile group the 764 is behind PPanon’s posts
>>64648053i didn't say acceptable, i am inquiring as to why anyone would deviate from it so far i've gotten no real answers, just dismissive hand waiving from people who can't seem to muster a reason.
>>64648069Weird. I see a post that tells you a reason.
>>64648069
>>64648078Walther triggers and grips suck though, I can't see that being an argument really
>>64647991Glocks are gay and boring. Walther, HK, S&W whatever are all fine and slightly less boring KYS fag.
>>64648089>Walther triggers and grips suck thoughTell me you have never picked one up without telling me you never picked one up.>One such tactic would aim at gradually making these boards less interesting to the users
zamn..
>>64647776>sandiskThose portable drives are defective. I had one that failed on me after a month. Sandisk told me to go fuck myself.Fuck Sandisk. Toshiba master race.
>>64648112What’s the difference between this and the 84bb?
>>64648110>>64648105was hoping for rel answers, not troll posts
>>64645942Pic related
>>64647910That is a deliciously savage tweet.
>>64647776Should I get this nitrided?I like that it's grey but I hate that it's cerakote
>>64648200looks like dogshi
dogshit. But still not as hilariously bad as that idiot who ruined his px4 frame
>>64648200Go Titanium nitride.
>>64648200Or get it nickel plated
>>64648204it's a factory coating lol
nickel pating > cerakote > bluing >TiNi
>>64647871I think the QC on the finish is really hit or miss on the cheap carry guns. I have an LCP2, it used to constantly break out in rust all over the slide and the mag and slide releases would develop flaky rust in just a few days all summer long. I live in a hot, humid area, and carried it daily. Wiped it down a couple times a month with Gibbs spray, and it still happened. Ended up coating the slide and controls in Naval Jelly. It looks like ass, but no more rust. My Blackhawk has been through hell, I hunt with it in all weather conditions, and there's never been a hint of rust anywhere. My dad has a security 9 he got about the same time I got my LCP2 that has spent the better part of a decade under the seat of his work truck, and the finish is fine. He shoots and cleans it maybe once a year usually rides around with the windows down in the summer, so it's not like it's protected from humidity.
>>64648211>>64648215>>64648237I'm not doing that, I'm either going to run the factory cerakote til it wears out or I'll send it to jagerwerks for $50 nitride which will match the factory finish
>>64648251Pussy
>>64647776I legit thought that was a G2C
>chiappa finally releases a rhino in 44>Thumbrest right near cylinder>Front of trigger guard has grooves for support hand index finger >Frame is still aluminum I don't want to be a naysayer, and I'm probably going to get one, but I have a feeling this is going to singe a lot of fingers, and probably take a few with a catastrophic failure.
>>64648159Oh that's not as bad as I thought. But definitely something to keep an eye on after you push it back in. That pin holds the breech block in but the extractor can't escape unless that came all the way out.If it keeps doing that, what I'd do is remove the striker guts from the back, take that pin all the way out, and give it a very light crease about 1/3 of the way from the end using a flat head screwdriver and a hammer. Just to give it more bite inside the breech block
>>64647791Don't fuss with a holster with tuckable belt clips and just go full on Enigma, especially if you're running a small gun like a p365 with a tucked in shirt.
>>64648327>using a flat head screwdriverOr lineman's dykes/wire cutter would work too, just to pinch it a LITTLE bit. But I would only do this if it keeps walking
>>64648327>>64648332Good looking out, thanks. I'll test it out next range trip. Gave me an excuse to shoot my P17 which I've neglected since getting the TX22 years ago. It's kind of growing on me now. The irons are sighted in for a 6 o'clock hold which is a little weird but I like the trigger.
My holoaun is a lemon :( china why
>>64648119It's 4 more
>>64647978I have no idea, in retrospect the government might've planted the need in me with the 5g towers. It came on suddenly and now I'm out 850 bucks.
>>64648398how so? My holosun is fine but the whole glock was a lemon shit would fail to return to battery consistently
>>64648535It's the mrs model. I was able to switch between reticles before my first range trip with it while dry firing at home, but after firing a few rounds it completely stopped allowing me to change reticles. Holding - down just turns it off :( also the glass chipped from just shooting. Bizarre
>>64648550It's a fucking holosun. What did you expect?
>>64648565Idk people be shilling the eps carry pretty often, thought I was making a good decision. Looks nice too
>>64648568you get what you deserve for supporting china
>>64648535>waaahh I needed a new recoil spring waaaaaahhhh
Rock island or Tisas for a budget 1911?
>>64648629Tisas. Rock Island has gotten shittier over time.
i like it desu
Meatball > Rhino
>>64648648It's alright.
>>64648660I'll never own one
>>64648662They're not worth the 12k+ they go for nowadays anyway.
>>64648665>says the guy who just happens to already own one
So I rubbed some 91% isproppyl alchohol on a trigger cause it seemed dirty and pic related started coming off it. Got this stuff all over my fingers and the smell was horrible. Soap doesn't remove it from hands or metal, only alhohol. Trying to find out whatever the hell this is. Anyone?
>>64648837Also it looks like stainless steel underneath but I'm not sure.
>>64648643I did not know they made .44mag Rhinos until right now.
>>64648837Which gun?
>>64648875polish mak
>>64648877P-64? That is new to me maybe it was refinished they're normally blued
>>64648904I'm just scared since i probably absorbed in my skin and I had a whiff of it.
>>64648908I wouldn't worry about that skin is a good barrier if you don't suck your thumb and whatever smelled bad will be on too small a scale to be harmful
>>64648911Yeah I guess. What kind of paint or finish can be completely wiped off with alcohol though? You know it reminded me of that dark-blue ink in pens. Weird
>>64648922There are alcohol based acrylics, they are water proof after they dry used in model painting I wouldn't use it on a gun though
>>64647776
>>64648939>crappy car>retard holster>dogshit reddot nice
>>64648837Borax dissolved in soap helpsIt’s a chelator and should bind to lead
>>64648928Yeah I mean it's used so someone probably painted it who knows.>>64648976Why would there be lead?
>>64649025>Why would there be lead?
>>64649039The pistol made out of steel though?
>>64649039It is a blowback but all the cheap ammo is jacketed I haven't noticed lead on my mak triggers
>>64649074The primers contain lead as well.
>>64647790>I've only ever seen it hereWhere else do you frequent that has a bunch of gun guys who actually shoot their guns more than once or twice a year, and then go on the internet to talk about it? My Ruger American gen 2 rusted in my closet back when I lived in Oklahoma, so it's not just the pistols. Their finish just isn't that good man idk what to tell ya other than get one of the goofy pink/leopard print colour wave ones since that finish is more rust resistant than their standard offerings.
>>64649185Shit maybe it was a gen 1 ruger american? Idk man I bought it to go hog hunting and then shortly after got into AKs and that obviously became the better choice to remove pigs. Haven't looked at the thing in years I'm sure it has some pitting by now.
>>64647790Rugers are the only guns I've ever had rust trouble with. 10/22s and pistols. I have given them a quick cleaning after shooting then put them in the case for 2 weeks and the next time I open the case there's surface rust and minor pitting. I only have stainless ones now because seriously, what the hell Ruger?
>>64649302cuz you leaving it in the case you simpleton
>>64649346Crazy how some companies finishes can survive at the bottom of a lake for a year with nearly no rust or pitting while others can't even survive being put away dry in a case. Ruger makes budget offerings that make sacrifices in places to keep a price point. If you slap some of lubeanons gold guard on em and keep them at a more regular maintenence schedule I'm sure they'll hold up just as well as a FN or Glock or Walther, the difference is those can be subjected to abuse without oil or cleaning or proper storage. Is it worth the extra $100-200 to you to not have to hassle with the finish? It is to me, but everyones different.
>>64649302>>64649387I wouldn't be surprised if the Ruger factory is full of rusty unfinished parts so every single gun they make that isn't stainless is pre rusted in some form. If they don't permanently remove the oxide layer the guns are basically fucked and WILL turn into rust over time.
>>64649387jesus the text in that pic reads like a nervous guy trying to tell a lie.
>TFW keep a whole rotation of small carry guns>look at CC9>remember that I need to put a stop to gun buying to have some fucking financial health
>>64649519Whatever the problem is I haven't seen reports of it with the RXM, which hopegully means the RXM finish is better and rugers turning a new leaf. I truly don't mind their finish problems for obviously budget guns because you have to cut cost somewhere, but folks should be made aware of it so they know they have to lube em up and really be vigilant after wet range sessions.>>64649539Boomers talk weird on the internet, and pretty much everyone in a gunsmithing facebook group is going to be a boomer, spiritually or otherwise. Here's what the internals looked like after he wiped them off with a cloth, apparently the barrel and a few springs were the only things that really rusted and everything else was fine. Unfortunately FN are who they are so a replacement barrel and the few small parts plus the gunsmithing fee probably cost more than buying a new 509 tactical would have for the guy. Can't blame him for wanting to keep this one as a trophy peice tho, it's got history.>>64649704You should call around and find a rental range in your area that does unlimited swaps for a flat rate and get your new gun fix in that way. Unless this is a spending problem not a novelty problem in which case idk man watch some Caleb Hammer or Dave Ramsey videos and get scared straight or something.
>>64649742Caleb Hammer is great. Singlehandedly waging a war against treat culture
>>64649074Are they total metal jacket? Most aren't, so when the powder burns it vaporizes the lead and it flys everywhere with the gases. That's why indoor ranges have to be ventilated and the employees have to get their blood tested regularly. Also, this>>64649079
