Is Ballistol a good choice for gun and tool/knife maintenance?
>>64649681Yes
>>64649681Just use Mobile 1 and stfu.
>>64650440Mobile 1 is shit
>>64649681Depends, it's kinda shit for rust protection so I don't use it for the external parts of older guns because they WILL rustFor more modern guns and internal bits it's a decent alternative being non-toxic
>>64649681FACT:it is scientifically proven that if you dont use ballistol for literally everything YOU are HOMOSEXUAL
>>64650653the real interesting thing about it is its uses for deep would care
>>64650834It makes the bacteria slide right off. True facts.
>>64649681my grandpa used to drink that shit
>>64650653>>64650843based and Ballistol pilled
>>64649681Sure sounds like it from what I've heard, though I just use Rem Oil.
>>64650874why is tom selleck dressed as a nazi?
It'll do alright.
>>64649681Ballistol is kinda like WD-40, in that it does an average job. It doesn't really clean well, in my experience. I have used it on wood, leather, it restores Bakelite. I pretty much just use it to wipe down guns to protect the finish. If you spray it in the action it tends to gum up a little, long term.
>>64649681>Clean bore and chamberHoppes Elite>Clean and protect action and finishesEezox>Lubricate actionRedline CV-2 GreaseI have also found fluidfilm to be a superb lubricating product. I never use oil as a protectant or lubricant on my guns. And I never have rust.
>>64650653I use Ballistol to moisturize my hands
I never knew it was German, thanks k
>>64650834>>64650839
>>64649681It's not really *great* at anything it does. If you want a jack-of-all-trades gun oil, CLP will do everything better. If you need long-term rust prevention, just go for a straight up preservative instead of gun oils.
Ballistol also makes ceramic oil
>>64653419Nah, it becomes jelly-like but shooting removes it, it's not like it hardens or anything
>>64650834Disclaimer*Not the aerosol one, ok thank you sirs.
>>64650834you can also use it as lube
>>64649681If you're lazy and like vintage guns and tools, meaning steel, wood and leather, Ballistol is ideal, since you can maintain all three of those with it. It's ideal for knives since it's food safe.
>>64649681>>64653753no longer non-toxic, but better corrosion protection
