Is this enough for deterrence, or just rookie numbers for 800km border?

>six million
Why such and oddly specific number? Was five and a half million too little? Is seven million too many?
>>
>>64651797
It's 10,000 a KM

That's 7,5 mines/metre.
that's about 3 layers deep of minefields assuming both AT and AP mines are used. it's serious business, but it's not overkill
>>
>>64651912
Yeah, not overkill at all especially given the minefields used in ukraine. if anything, it'd have to be bolstered if there were a credible threat of imminent invasion
>>
why not just tear up the roads and rails
>>
>>64651797
6 million mines?!?!?
No, it's 12 million now. We looked into it and deceded the number needed to be higher. More mines have been ordered, that the Germans are going to pay for them.

>6 million mines?!?!?
>No, it's 12 million now
Well duh
PiS will mine the western AND the eastern borders, figures they need twice the mines.
>>
>>64651797
It isn't oddly specific. It says right there "to 5 million to 6 million mines".

>>64651749
Well I hope they learned to do what the Russian's did which is to 'pancake' mines. That means putting several AT mines on top of each other (like a pancake, duh) so if anti-mine vehicles go over it, the explosive force is much larger than what the anti-mine vehicle has been designed to handle and, as the Ukrainian's found out, breaks them. Then again, not entirely sure what Russia's anti-mine forces are like at the moment. Demining is much easier if you've got air superiority removing enemy artillery and such so your EOD and combat engineers can deal with them easier.. But if you don't, then you need anti-mine vehicles for such attacks.

Is Russia really that much of a threat that even after the debacle in Ukraine that they could waltz into Poland? I know they border Russia but I doubt Russia has the forces required to move them to Kaliningrad.
>>
>>64652058
>rails
There's ONE broad gauge rail line through Poland's border, and it comes from Ukraine.

No not at all. But invading Ukraine showed that you can't count on the russians think things through.

And?
Taiwan is part of the rules based international order and so their media is seen as credible.

It's a good peacetime solution. Prevents any hybrid war shenanigans whilst not leaving too big of a footprint.
I'm just thinking about the animals in this, how will they move? But I guess they already fenced up the border so it won't change anything in this regard.....
>>
>>64652058
>let's destroy our infrastructure then they won't want to invade!
>>
>>64652050
It would take Russia 400 years to reach the polish border.
>>
>>64652120
Mate, they're literally on the Polish border. Russia borders Poland. Look at a god damn map.
>>
>>64652067
Not a threat in military competence terms, but a threat in terms of being a dying autocracy with a leader gambling on resurrection.
>>
>>64652112
The only hybrid war shenanigans it prevents is russia launching an invasion while wearing LWP uniforms. The vast majority of hybrid shenanigans are done by infiltrators entering the country by legitimate paths, collaborators and cyberwarfare centers.

Please point to the russian border that they could launch an invasion from (hint it's not Königsberg). Not that I'm saying mining the border with russian occupied Königsberg would be a bad thing mind you.
>what about Belarus
Do you really think Col Potato is going to let russia launch a full scale invasion of NATO out of his country knowing he'll immediately get acked? I mean absolutely mine the border with Belarus too, hell turn it into a DMZ like in Korea, maybe it'd keep the fucks from doing anything stupid.
>>
>>64652229
>show me on the map where they're bordered!
>NO DON'T SHOW THE BIT WHERE THEY'RE BORDERED THE OTHER BIT SO MY ARGUMENT WORKS!
Well I am surprised it took you 28 mins to google 'Where does Russia border Poland' but hey you learned something.

>russia launching an invasion while wearing LWP uniforms
>Polish People's Army (Polish: Ludowe Wojsko Polskie), during the People's Republic of Poland (1943–1989)
those uniforms would be 36 years out of date, which would probably make them some of the most cutting-edge equipment in the russian military right now
>>
>>64652067
if you can't defend the minefield with artillery and anti tank weapons it will be breached no matter what convoluted tactics you invent
the minefields will most likely be created only during crisis time with automated minelayers using MN-123 type mines and some newly developed antipersonnel equivalent, engineering battalions are equipped to lay about 400k/day
>>
>>64651797
the day internet users learn how to read more than 2 sentences we will finally create a utopia
>>
>>64652136
Does that mean anything? With the trouble they've been having, it'll take them a pretty long time to get their forces anywhere inside of Russia, nevermind outside of it.

That's approximately a 9 deep grid at one meter spacing for the entire frontier.
How many weaponized migrants will these catch?

They surely will not be laid so close together.

5 mines per minute
>>

I heard it was only about 150,000 mines. Mostly due to typhus.

I like anti-tank ditches. Large barriers are underrated. Polish ones will fill with water.
