>Belligerents: Roman Empire | British tribes (Iceni and allies)>Commanders and leaders: Gaius Suetonius Paulinus | Boudica>Strength: ~10,000 (legions and auxiliaries) | 100,000–230,000>Casualties and losses: ~400 killed, similar number wounded | ~80,000 killedHow does this happen?
>>64655886Boudicca focused more on slaughtering unarmed native brits instead of organizing an actual army
>>64655886No special tricks, the Romans just got in a position where they couldn't get flanked or surrounded and then stood there until they got sick of getting killed and ran away. The Iceni were so confident because of their overwhelming numbers that they eschewed any tactics at all, and even brought their families along to watch.
>>64655886Women in command
>>64655886There might be the slightest possibility the Romans sometimes inflated their kill counts and how overwhelmingly outnumbered they were. Just maybe highly populated and developed areas like the Roman Empire and Mediterranean in general were better able to raise and use manpower than the British Isles.
>>64655886Bloodiest day of British history btw.
