This is the new Bundeswehr service pistol, say something (nice) about it.
>>
looks neat i guess
>>
>>64658768
It's not a Sigshit. That, and it looks kinda cool. Needs to be chambered in 11.5mmACP tho.
>>
>>64658768
Why do nearly all modern striker fired handguns have a massive gap between the frame and the slide?
>>
>>64658802
So things go wrong and you have to buy another one.
>>
>>64658768
I’ll buy one when they release a copy in the US.

It's basically identical to the P10 afaik
>>
>>64658802
Loose tolerances allow for gun parts to easily fit together when mass produced in a line. Tighter tolerances from higher quality guns might require hand fitting.
>>
>>64658768
I'm surprised it's not a VP9 or PDP, I thought the krauts were pretty picky about sticking with manufacturers from Der Vaterland.

>"say something (nice) about it."
They are a nice cheap price.

>>64658816
That's because it is a CZ P10 C, just one that is optics ready and has been painted FDE colors.

>>64658863
The only selection criterion was that it'd be cheap. https://www.calibredefence.co.uk/cz-to-replace-p8-with-p13-the-bundeswehrs-new-handgun/
>>
>>64658768
Fück you, P13.
I liked the P8.
Even the P1 had some charming aspects to it.
>>
>>64658877
The USP was simply too expensive for the cheap misers in the German government. See >>64658869
>>
>>64658877
P8 trigger was annoying though
>>
>>64658768
do I see this right? Does it come without a manual safety?
>>
>>64658768
I tire of the FDE
>>
>>64658902
To my understanding, only our military (the US) is obsessed with guns having a manual safety. We requested it back when we still had officers on horseback and kept the requirement so that bored MPs wouldn't shoot themselves on accident.
>>
>>64658863
Too expensive. You also gotta remember a lot of those guns unironically end up with Muslimic Clans, wouldn’t want them to have the best shit available. Muslims also regularly beat up German police and steal their weapons like in that gas station a few months ago.
>>
>>64658869
>Only competitors were Arex, CZ & Glock.
>Winning pistol was 100% dependent on price.
That makes a lot more sense now.
>>
>>64658902
manual safety is gay
>>
>>64658935
Me too.

>>64658956
Germany has been trying to snub HK for years, but HK kept winning the selection competitions. Making the only criterion price was the only way to make sure they lost. While Germany makes great premium guns, their cheap guns suck (see the UMP).
>>
Neat. The Germans adopted a P10C. Excellent choice.

Deutschland, Deutschland, über alle!

T. ‘Murican
>>
Should have called it P10 (t).
>>
>>64658976
what does the t stand for?
>>
>>64658814
It's just P10C OR in FDE
>>
Also CSG/Tatra just won the contract for 150 (+300) Leo 2 A8 hulls

(t)schechien. Czechia in german
>>
>>64658768
im okay with this, considering a pistol is the least important armament in the army. this costs the bundeswehr around 200 bucks per gun
>>
>>64658979
tschechisch aka czech
It's the way they designated foreign weapons back in WW2, the letter in the parentheses stands for the country of origin.
>>
I read somewhere that the arex would be safer and more modern, not an expert on guns though.
Also probably a good thing to show HK that they are replaceable.
>>
>>64659017
>not an expert on guns through
why are you even here?
>>
>>64658768
It looks neat. How reliable even are P10s though? Especially vs Glocks or M&Ps
>>
>>64658768
ss tradition of using czechoslovakian guns
>>
>>64658869
They should have included the criterium of
>doesn't tend to discharge uncommanded
I hope that's somewhere in the fine print.
>>
>>64659017
HK makes good guns, though. The German government just holds a grudge on HK for that time they sold G36, MP7, etc. to "Mexican security companies" without the German government's permission, and the guns ended up in cartel hands. On the other hand, AREX is making SIG P226 clones (the zero pistol and the alpha pistol) and one striker-slop design (the delta pistol) to compete with Glock.

>>64659025
>why are you even here?
K attracts weapon enthusiasts of all knowledge levels. Let him learn.

>>64659029
Polymer striker-slop is polymer striker-slop.

>>64659041
They didn't choose a SIG, which they probably could have gotten for cheaper, so it was added somewhere in there.
>>
>>64659041
Selection criterion, meaning "of the guns that fulfill requirements, we take the cheapest". I don't know how exactly they test the function of the safety mechanisms, but they probably did do some kind of evaluation. Not sure how you would even test something like the sig-discharge, you'd need to buy tons of guns and put them through use to find out which ones have the rare tolerance stacking.
>>
>>64658768
Weird choice desu, p10 is decent these days but what's next, PSA sabers for rifles?
>>64658802
Because it really doesn't matter. The important area in terms of tolerances for slide frame fit on a polymer gun are the rails.
>>64658869
>>64658970
Learn to read. The requirements for performance were the same for all competitors. Meeting those requirements was a criteria, once they did the winner was whoever did that the cheapest. Reasonable to question if those requirements were strict enough though.
>>
>>64659070
> what's next, PSA sabers for rifles?
They went with the HK416 for their next service rifle
>>
>>64659070
>>64659025
>Reasonable to question if those requirements were strict enough though.
The guy who criticized it claimed that having to pull the trigger for disassembly was unsafe and obsolete tech. That's the main thing I remember really. (He also hates glocks for the same reason.)
>>
>>64658863
It's a military service pistol. It has to work sufficiently well and it has to be cheap. As BW is projected to increase in size significantly and nowadays you have to have a pistol for every soldier (even though they are basically useless in high intensity war) price is by far the most important factor. And as long as it comes from yuroland and the respective country buys german equipment in return, its gucci. And czechbros are outstandingly reliable partners that have a proud tradition of producing high quality military equipment.

>>64658902
AFAIK they finally dropped that retarded requirement.

>>64658976
8/8

>>64658991
Thats really good for yuro MIC integration.
>>
>>64658889
Whats wrong with it?

Does the P13 have a lower trigger pull weight?
The 12 lb of the P8 were fucking retarded.
>>
>>64658869
>>64658956
Back when this news first leaked back in August, I believe another specified requirement was that the pistol selected had to be already in use with a NATO country for at least 5 years, which makes the process thing a little less egregious

This doesn't feel right
A german army without a german pistol doesn't feel right
I guess this is how it must have felt when the US Armed Forces ditched the American 1911 for a Italian 92FS

Bohemia should become part of Germany.
