Longtime knife collector thinking about a Sebenza. But I don't want to pay $500... should I just try to find a used one to see if I like it?
>>64660877What's wrong with it?>>64661183Longtime? Yes, go ahead and buy one. It takes a looong time to break in, but once you do it's pretty darn nice. It's benefits are it's smooth action, ease of sharpening and how it's made to take apart and put back together and still perform the same. Complete opposite of a Spyderco in that regard.
>>64661183was going to give you advice that might have saved you money but frogposters deserve nothing
I don't have any of combat or throwing knives, but I enjoy throwing sharpened sticks that I make, very enjoyable to destroy targets with them.Anything I should look for in a knife to make sure it's throwable with decent results? Dedicated "throwing knives" seem compromised in their design.
>>64661412Proper throwing knives have two important features. First is the balance is suited for throwing, and second is that the steel isn't tempered as hard. That is important so the edge doesn't chip or and the knife doesn't bounce dangerously off your practice target if you flub a throw.there are also a lot of mallninja bullshit """""throwing knives""""" which usually look silly and have little to no utility.
>>64659591Why is SO HARD to find a good small fixed blade dagger with a serrated side?
>>64662130Great information. Yeah when I browse for "throwing knives" I get the mall ninja stuff. Any Euro maker thats good?
>>64662348SOG Pentagon. Long discontinued, sells for way too much on the secondhand market. I want one real bad because it was in the first Hitman game.
>>64662348dagger blade shapes are counter-intuitive to the tasks you'd generally want a serrated edge for
Any opinions on the drop point grip vs the sheepsfoot?
>>64662911Not sure what you mean by this? Drop point and sheepsfoot refer to the shape of the blade, not the grip
>>64662928The griptilian... The 550 or 551. Ones a drop point and one's a sheepsfoot
>>64662936Oh gotcha, wasn't familiar with that model. I don't have specific experience with it obviously, but I like drop point blades for a good edc/general use knife
>>64662936it's either an aesthetic preference or possibly dependent on the types of cuts you will be making more often
managed to get one of the discontinued Ganzo copies of the BM Bedlam at a good price on ebay, but it came without the clip, which makes it kinda shitty to hold onto safely when closing.so I designed and 3d printed one myself. It's vastly different to the original steel clip, my focus here was to make something that fits the style of the knife (better than the original imo), makes it safe to hold onto when closing, while being suited to the inherently flimsier printed material. This here is the final test version, just have to make it in black now.
>>64662962>>64662972NTA, I agree with your suggestions generally speaking, but on the Griptilian the "sheepsfoot" isn't really a traditional sheepsfoot with a straight blade, it is swept up near the tip. The 550's blade shape is more practical than the traditional pattern. It's really not all that different from the drop point 551, if anything it's a bit more robust which might be a good thing.
>>64663396Yeah I went and looked it up, and I actually kind of dig the sheepsfoot for that knife. It looks comfy. I think they both look nice on that knife though, I'm sure you (or another anon) would be happy with either one
>>64661412Personally, the best luck I've had with throwing knives has been kitchen knives I took the handles off of, I think they're weighted better than most of the junk advertised/sold as "throwing knives" (which I have a few of as well).
>>64662629>dagger blade shapes are counter-intuitiveDaggers are only good for killing.
>>64663188It's interesting that you have a 3d printer and are buying ganzos.
>>64662348Just buy the dagger you want and pay to have serrations ground on one side.>Daggers are only good for killing.Meme. Mixed work/self defense daggers were common in medieval times. You often found things like ballock daggers together in sets with eating cutlery in the same sheath.
dont play with butterfly knives while drunk guys......
>>64661183Yeah I love my Sebenzas, it's worth it. Don't listen to that faggot telling you it needs to break in. It's the nicest knife you've ever felt or looked at from day 1 and it only improves over time. I have never once regretted a CRK purchase. My only regret is the time I lost a small left hand insingo 21 in a Lyft ride in Boulder, CO in 2017, because the driver stole it (non-white). I buy mine from Sooner State Knives because the website reminds me of middle school.
It ain’t much, but it’s an honest collection.
>>64664104I'm that faggot and I have three of them. You absolutely have to break them in. Probably open and close them around 1000 times before they become buttery smooth. >>64664122That's a great start. I have about 100 knives now, but that brown PM2 was one of my first 10 knives, and probably one of the first few 'nice' knives I splurged on.
>>64664006Nowhere in my post did I claim they weren't
>>64664122nice
>>64664017an actual BM Bedlam costs about as much as my printer did
>>64659625sorry i had a power outage>>64661183love them. buy everything used on r/knife_swap. you can prob get a barely used small sebenza for like $350 right now. i say start with a small sebenza, if you decide it's too small then consider the larger crk's but there's pros and cons to buying an inkosi or zaan over the large sebenza.>pic rel mini bugout and small sebenza >>64664104ive had three, still have two, all needed breakin
>>64663980Do you just hold the blade between your fingers when you throw them? The handle-end in your palm?

>>64665185its iconic for a reason. good buy anon.probably my only criticism is that it's big. just buy a little victorinox or something for when you wear shorts, and never worry about knife consooming ever again.
>>64665185buck 110 pretty classic. you'll blend in with it, not a bad knife
>>64664047>Just buy the dagger you want and pay to have serrations ground on one sideRetard here... If the blade is already tempered and finished, how can it be done without fucking it? Laser cutting?
>>64665679>>Buck 110HIS NAME IS BUCK AND HE IS HERE TO FUCK
>>64666094On a belt grinder, most likely. Hardened steel can still be grinded (ground?). You'll have to be careful not to get the blade too hot and ruin the temper. It can be done fairly easily though
>>64666094Files can still cut a blade with some work, if the blade is stupid hard then it can be annealed and tempered either whole or locally.
>>64666094I believe all serrations are put in after the steel is hardened. It's just like sharpening. I wouldn't mess around with that though.
>>64666184>I believe all serrations are put in after the steel is hardened. It's just like sharpeningCorrect.>>64666094File, cylindrical grinding stone, grinding machine. Take your pick. A very easy way to do it yourself would be to use a chainsaw file.
>>64666094You can just buy some diamond grit needle files or dremel bits and do it yourself. Put a small sharpening choil on my PM2 that way.

I managed to break the spring in one of my axial shift otfs, first time i broke something other than a Lightning's spring. Fortunately, i have a chunk of spare springs sitting in a ziploc bag. Easy fix.>>64661183The Sebenza has the best blade grind of any knife I've ever held. From a BIFL perspective the hollow grind is just fantastic, very tall and deep, literal decades will pass before it even starts getting thicker behind the edge. And it's not wafer thin or too thick to start with behind the edge, it's the perfect balance between slicy and durable imo. Unless you like to hammer nailsI have a bunch of knives that are these terrible flat grinds that immediately thicken after being sharpened and often with obnoxiously thick blade stock that makes it more like a prybar on a pivot, and they are usually shit for slicing off the go because of said grind. What the hell are knife designers doing? At least 80% of pocket knives should be ground like CRK if you ask me...

Are spydercos fragile? Seems like a lot of people snap the tips off their spydies, and a good chunk of the tip too.
>>64661412By and large I agree with >>64662130but it's also important to note that weight plays a role. A lot of the aforementioned mallninja bullshit throwing knives are paper thin and won't stick well with all the technique in the world. Historically things that you threw would have some weight. If you want a regular knife that you can also throw then you want Cold Steel's True Flight thrower.
>>64678060>Seems like a lot of people snap the tips off their spydies, and a good chunk of the tip too.90% of those are caused by jackasses using the blade as a screwdriver or prybar. As long as you're using it as a knife you shouldn't have any issues

>>64659591Wife got me a classic Buck 110 for Christmas this year. Buck hasn’t let me down yet and I’m sure this knife will outlive me.
>>64683032A new one or an old one? That pic is an old one. The hollow grind on a Buck knife is a beautiful thing. The 110 is a sheath knife that's just about as sturdy as a fixed blade. The thing that's nice about folding knives is it's easy to put them back in your pocket or in the sheath. Fixed blades, you have to be real careful not to stab yourself putting it back in the sheath. This, you can operate with your eyes closed. Better on the belt with jeans or something heavy. If you're going to stab into something, I would palm the butt as there isn't a guard. Hollow grinds are great for cutting flesh type stuff if you go hunting and fishing.
>>64683044It’s a new model, just meant a classic design. I’m no knife expert, just always carried one since I could walk and don’t leave home without one. I do want the fixed 192 vanguard in the future. Once I have both, they’ll probably be the last knives I’ll ever need to buy
>>64683049You would save a lot of money and be well-equipped. Knife collectors are sick, sick people ;)
>>64683074I used to buy little cheap knives all the time for fun, but Buck has really stopped me in my tracks. I’ve had pic related for years now and it’s been trucking along just fine.
>>64683081Oh yeah, they have the history and size to sell quality domestic stuff for a low low price.
>>64683032My mom bought my dad one of these when I was a kid ~30 years ago. He used it like a workhorse and didn't take great care of it. I cleaned it and polished it up like new. Fantastic knife.
>>64683087Any tips on maintaining? I’ve owned a few whet stones but never really understood how to properly use them. My old buck folder is finally getting a bit full and needs some love
>>64683097NTA, I would recommend the Spyderco Sharpmaker for sharpening it yourself. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5LBDnJv5B58One of Spyderco's first products. They made things sharp, and THEN they made sharp things. It's kind of a combo of a fixed angle system and freehand sharpening stones. Buck does have a full on spa cleaning/repair/sharpening service, same as Benchmade. Every youtube video of Spyderco's send-it-in services looks like an absolute horror show but I digress. There are a few good systems for about $100. Worksharp, etc. I could never hold an exact angle with a sharpening stone and pull-throughs ruin a blade.
>>64664096I have a bottle opener version for that.
>>64683124cont.I've gotten my 420HC Buck knives hair whittling sharp on just the Sharpmaker. Sharper than shaving sharp.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X3T_pUZ7xI4
>>64683124>>64683141Very cool, I’ll have to look into those. Random question, is it possible/common to have a thumb knob drilled into the blade? It’s a bit awkward opening one handed without one. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen other models with one as a feature.
>>64683157Yes, people do modify their 110s. You can get it drilled or can buy these thumb studs that clasp onto the blade.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f7JOKi_iO5U
>>64683171That’s awesome, do they hold well without being drilled?
>>64683194IDK, I've just seen them on youtube. I have a Buck 110, but just kept it how it is.

>>64683257A stainless steel handle seems kinda bad to me. Would be a bit heavy and absorb your body heat like a sponge.. no?
What's a good budget knife for scaring away hostile homeless drunken injuns in the terrifying urban centres of Canada?
>>64683554I wouldn't say using a knife to scare someone is a good idea in a civilian environment. You could end up having to stab someone or even worse, not have the guts to. You either fear for your life or you don't. I don't even think you can use a knife for self defense in Canada.
>>64677899I got an AG Russell Sting in the mail today. Doesn't glow when orcs are near, but I'll be careful around them nonetheless.
>>64683523Tons of knives have stainless steel handles, never mind that's a high end OTF so it's not going to be used for outdoors stuff
>>64683554Pepper spray.
>>64683554A very powerful flashlight and pepper gel madam.
>>64666468>ChoilWhat does it do? I'm retarded.
>>64684980Not that guy but some people don't like that it's hard to sharpen a knife's blade all the way down to the ricasso so they put in a sharpening choil so their sharpening tool has space to make flat contact
>>64685042Exactly this. Because of the grind and basic geometry, you'll always have a spot right where the edge meets the ricasso that you can't sharpen, and it'll gradually get further up the blade the more you sharpen it.
I've got a bel air and some sort of free kershaw on the way

For field dressing deer I’ve used a basic fixed blade and a gut hook blade. Could have used a small saw, but didn’t have one. Any recommendations for this particular task? I like the idea of a dedicated set to bring out when hunting along with the gambrel hanger, but have a decent collection of utilitarian knives.
>>64685835Skill issue.
>>64686507The “Mora Hunting Set” has interested me. For saw there is the Casstrom, or any folding saw brand out there. A dual purpose saw like a Silky would be nice if you wanted to start a fire.
>>64686507I use a wire saw and a Victorinox flexible boning knife, the kind that butchers and chefs use. They aren't anything fancy but are very practical. They cost about $35, the grip has a fine texture on it that works great even if your hands are dirty or bloody, they are very sanitary.>>64687850silky saws are awesome for general purpose outdoors stuff, bushcraft, etc. I've never tried to use one on bone though, I'm not sure how well they would work for that given the style of teeth they have. Perhaps they work great?
>>64686507>Could have used a small saw,Actual pro-tip:Don't use a saw on animal carcasses.Use a cleaver or a hatchet.Saws create bone dust, meat contaminated with bone dust rots and spoils prematurely.

Im looking at finally upgrading my hard use/bushcraft knife. I have a budget of around $300 and Ive used, abused, and cared for my becker BK10 for nearly a decade and it has all the wear and tear to show it. I could definitely use it for another decade, but I use it enough to justify getting something a bit better where edge retention and corrosion resistance isnt a constant battle of maintenance. Ive currently narrowed it down to two knives, the Bark River Bravo 1 in 3v, and the White river Ursus 45. Frankly if I could find the ursus 45 in 3v Id buy it in a heartbeat, I got to get my hands on one and the handle and balance feels great. My only sticking point is for $300 and a knife im gunna be using fairly hard and in some tougher environments Id prefer to have 3v steel, even if my only real justification is it soothes my autism to get the steel i want for a relatively expensive knife purchase. Any input?
>>64699756I went with the Architect AK 4.5, it looks like they still have 3V blades in stock. Blades are OEM by White River and the company is by the owners of The Knife Connection if I remember right. Coupon code”GIDEONSTACTICAL” brings a knife and sheath to just under $200 when I ordered. The downside is that it doesn’t have a convex grind.https://architectknives.com/product/architect-ak-4-5-build-your-blade/?srsltid=AfmBOop-HNLk6W90aDJEiYaZWbg2-rWRBgm4l6FqGSPoHyL21dyoJ4ix
>>64699815After researching that knife a good bit it seems to be everything I wanted. A bit stouter of a knife made in the steel i want by an OEM I know is solid. I appreciate the recommendation and I look forward to spending the next 10-20 years or more using it as my main use knife for backpacking/mountaineering.I keep a folding saw at least and usually a small hatchet with me for my backcountry trips so Im not super worried about the saber grind, its primarily a light kindling processing/general knife tasks tool. Ill more likely than not still take her out every now and then but Ive gotten far, far more than the $70 something i paid back in 2015 or whenever I got her.The garberg stainless was in my list of options initially but im not very partial to the aesthetics of them and im very partial to 3v for a knife.>>64700360a hatchet is an infrequent brought item, mostly for longer camping trips in the backcountry, but i always bring a silky saw gomboy outback with me without a hatchet, and a silky outback pocket with me if i am bringing a hatchet.

I want to learn leatherwork so I can make a pocket sheath for a more traditional puukko.
The Peltonen website has some unique sheath options available. I might have to pick up some orange and M05 plastic sheaths.
>>64703957Knives too, quite a few combinations.
I made a leather belt attachment thing for the kydex sheath that came with my big goofy amazon.consoom bowie. I think it turned out pretty nice.

Guys... what pair of knives should I get?
>>64704747Here u go m8
>>64685142hows the provoke ?
>>64699756Why not just get another Becker in Magnacut if you liked your Becker
>>64707938The only magnacut becker ive seen is the bk2 which is like half a pound. Plus the bk10 was great but it was a bit too big for what i needed it for given i carry other kindling processing tools.
For those with G(l)ock knives, what have you used to sharpen them? I’m kinda new to sharpening in general
>>64708186Bk82 magnacut is only slightly smaller than the bk10 by a third of an inch, fairly comparable in size but hrc at 62 or so 4 points higher than the bk10. Really good wood processor. I think you can find it for around 260.
>>64713410I don't know if they have improved since I got mine in 2010, but it was almost completely blunt. All I had at the time was a craftsman oilstone which I destroyed reprofiling that knife.
Now hiring 3 Goons. Serial Masturbators need not apply
>>64693953i have the same medford copy
>>64718927You should chainsaw file some serrations in it.
>>64659591I know literally nothing about knives but I bought a magnacut FS dagger for $500 because it looks cool. Did I make a good choice?
>>64719454link or picture or description please, I want to seehopefully they gave you one with sharp edges for that kind of money
I wanted the Fox Knives F-S but it was over $300 for 80 degree inclusive edges (not sharp now matter how much you sharpen.) So, I just got the $100 real current NATO stock number one, 3rd pattern from J. Nowill & Sons which also has 80 degree inclusive edges. I sharpened along the factory bevels just to get to the tip and make it sticky and pricky.
>>64719458I don't have it yet , here's the website pic
>>64719493I don't think there will be any downsides to that besides the price. Buy once, cry once, eat nothing but beans and ramen and PB&J for two months.
>>64719540sweet thanks anon
>>64719493>$500 for a knife with a 3D-printed handle held together by hex screws
>>64720676>3D-printed handleThat's G10, retard.
>>64719493That's cool and all I wish I had a $500 magnacut dagger and all but you do realize the main purpose of the dagger is stabby cutty people and you don't really need magnacut for that. If you made the same exact knife using 1cr10movbullshitchinesium it would perform just as well on the first 500 or so people. Then again you wouldn't need to sharpen your magnacut until 10000 or so maybe it's worth it
>>64721476Not him, but a large part of this general is just people enjoying having nice things and there's nothing wrong with that. Plus, there's no kill like overkill.
>>64719469>current nato stock numberare they still in use somewhere?
>>64722346They're an official current NATO military item. I heard some soldier killed an insurgent in the middle east this century with one. They aren't issued, but they could be if the need arose.
>>64695833>plz benchmade its ok cut up the guns someone else wuz gunna do it anywayThe excuse the eternal cuck tells himself
>>64721827That's cool, I'm just jealous and want a magnacut melee weapon. Just making him aware that even the most garbage steel sharpened to an edge is just as effective if used for just those purposes.
>>64725013They got everything you need to make you feel comfortable in the Dr. Phil green room. What do you want? An aquarium? A stack of books and a reading light? A statue of Jesus holding a gun and a padlock? Whatever makes you feel safe.
>>64725325A woman who won’t break my heart?
>>64723836Which would be more embarrassing to be murdered by? One of these or a pink handgun?
>>64725795Modern mallninja shit is kind of boring. I kind of regret throwing away around 2009 a huge collection of strange shaped pointy steel items made out of leftover chinesium factories or peoples garages that I collected from the mid 90s to the early 2000s. They could have been a collectors item in 20 years just for how strange they were. The problem with modern mallninja shit is its all based on retard anime stuff and all the same.
Thanks to the anon that recommended me the Leek as an EDC folder a while back, it's pretty much exactly what I was looking for. I'm not entirely sold on the assisted opening feature, but I figure I can just take the spring out if it hasn't grown on me in a month.
What is an OTF that won't slip out of your hands immediately and slice your hands open?
>>64727661yeah they tend to lack handguards
>>64690399As long as it's thin enough it'll be fine. >>64694546What laws do you have surrounding knife ownership? If they're super strict, just make a PVC knife. Cheap and disposable. >>64727661Looking for handguards or griptape? The Microtech Scarab has griptape on the handles, but it's a hefty sumbitch. Otherwise just get a UT / CT / Livewire and wrap some stage tape on it.
Hey guys, looking at buying a bugout, either the 535Bk-4 or the 535BK-07, but after reading online I'm now contemplating that perhaps a mini bugout might be better suited. For reference my hands are 17-18 cm long, but like 9 inches around (sausage fingers lmao)
>>64727772Griptape. I think I'll just wrap it then. Thanks.
>>64727821Yeah sorry mate. Gaffer tape might be what you're looking for, or one of the thinner rubberized grip tape. Been ages since I used gaffer tape to add some grip to an old beater so I don't know what you might be looking for atm.
>>64727810I hate the bugout. It came out when Ben Peterson was shilling for small knives in blue because that's what he likes. And they go and make a mini one? I can carry a main large 4 oz 4 inch knife and a small victorinox in the same pocket if I need to not scare people that day. One thing it would be good for is extreme ultralight camping. Or a good pajama pants knife since it's so light or if you wear basketball shorts. I wear a 9400 in my pajamas.
>>64727810the black cf elite weighs less and is more rigid and is $10 less, interesting
There are $450 bugouts.
>>64727871I've never seen a bugout IRL, my brother uses an Osbourne for farm work and loves it, figured a Bugout might be more suited to my less strenuous needs, but if you have other recs lemme know
>>64726563yup no prob. check out the dozier, slightly bigger but still thin but no assist. has thumb studs and their version of a spyderhole
For that dude asking me about the sharpness of the v14 spartan george edges, they’re sharp as fuck. In fact I sliced the hell out of the meat of my ring finger trying to pull the dagger from the sheath Ouch. Got some of that medical super glue on there. The pads of your fingers bleed a ton.
>>64684294Beautiful knife. I wouldn't have the nerve to carry it for fear of losing it.
>>64699815Thanks for the recommendation again. Im a huge fan of this one and Im already planning a 3 day camping trip to try to test it out. I know the sheath is a bit bulky but I liked the pouch on my BK10 to keep some vaseline soaked cotton balls and a ferro rod so I can start fires easily with just the knife and sheath. Love this bad larry.
>>64727900At that price surely they're magnacut with profiled textured titanium scales and ceramic bearings right?
>>64732200Hell yeah!
>>64731908Wow, be careful. Yeah, it seems like you need to pay a lot to get a sharp dagger. They are hard to get right grinding and sharpening
>>64664006Maybe he just wants to cut a whole lotta meat and wants to have two edges to maintain efficiency throughout the day like a double headed axe.
>>64694074I like how they look, and then I actually bought one and oh fuck, that choil choke hole is fucking awful. You will slice your finger off in any situation where you need to suddenly stab something.
>>64733523Finger choils are a trend that needs to stop.
>>64732375I just learned to do my own sharpening after too many shitty grinds from the factory / other sharpeners. That or you need to find a local sharpener (not a big box store like Ace) and ask for a sample to see if you like it.
>>64733659It's common sense not to touch the blood side of a blade with your fingers while cutting so I don't know how people cut themselves this way. Are manufacturers actually calling these finger grip areas or are folks just assuming that's what they are.
>>64734202Finger choils were a thing put on combat knives during WWII so commandos could get a higher grip on the blades when they slashed throats from behind in pulling motions for sentry removal.
>>64734222So that's what civivi designed these for i guess
>>64734249Yeah every fucking Chinese knife has to have one or two finger choils. Just like feature creep on their electronics. Forget designing a knife with a good handle.
>>64695078>cut up guns for free >add shop time overhead to cost of knives so the consumer pays for itWhy the fuck would the cops take these guns to benchmade to do this? Are there no local sheet metal shops? Why would bitchmade even agree to do it? And why make a fucking social media post of it?
>>64734429They learned that tonguing the government’s anus for good boy points doesn’t always pay off.
>>64659591Aren't those the guys that help police destroy buyback guns?
>>64734249Also makes the leverage better and more refined for whittling I guess, which is about the only use you'd have for that since the knife is so inherently small.
Anybody freehand sharpen? I've been doing it for years starting with waterstones all the way down to tiny arkansas stones and india stone rods. My new thing is stones glued to sticks, once you get your technique down you don't need a flat surface and can just pull it out and start sharpening while you are walking even. I've started gluing stones to sticks using epoxy. I think if you buy a bag of discount knives and practice sharpening it shouldn't take too long. Honing a blade freehand is therapeutic in a way, like meditation.
>>64736470i nicked my finger pad bad trying to pull a dagger from a kydex sheath, if I tried walking and sharpening like that i'd end up doing even worse
>>64736470Taught myself freehand after being tired with the Ken Onion shit and the guided systems. Be warned people will consider you a weirdo if you just have at it in public.
>>64734388finger choilstiny knivesmagnacutfat carbon
>>64736652The Tenable Parr is a good example. I’m a retard for a Wharncliffe, sheepsfoot, or reverse tanto pocket fixed blade. But what the actual fuck is going on in the ricasso area? What fucking chink by the feature list design philosophy is that?
Here is an example of good design. Minimal ricasso, they are wasted space. There handle is covered by the grip scales, because that’s where you hold the damn thing. After the handle is blade, where you cut things. It’s not that hard, but so many people fuck it up.
cold steel voyager for $30 a good deal or no?
>>64736701NuChinese knives have an specific essence to them. They are very reddit. The brand names are all made up words. They follow trends very closely.
>>64736712*a lol
>>64736710I buy cold steel for the tri-ad lock exclusively. It's no joke and other locks seem weak in comparison. yea 30 bucks is dope
>>64736712Boy don’t they. Some retards are even buying multiple $300 china knives.

>>64736732Recently bought The Recon1 magnacut. I've used my older Recon 1 for years, just feels nice in the hand and is by far my favorite folder and I've used it to do construction projects cutting up material and it's had no issues. It's also the only folder I would feel confident bringing into combat if I had to.The Spartan, American Lawman and AD-10 have Tri-Ad locks as well

please microtech sars redeem the ultratech gen iv natural clear variants...im tired of waiting
Are civivi knives legit or overpriced low quality
>>64737653I can’t believe people actually buy that overpriced Chinese garbage. Reddit has done untold damage to society.
>>64736710I checked midway and that's for the clip point version which I'm sure is fine. I'm a drop point fan but for that price , man that's cheap. The voyagers I have are a really good balance of being really strong yet light. Their blades aren't super thick which makes them more slicey than some thicker ones. Ur Not gonna break that knife unless using it as a prybar/intentional misuse. That's a great deal
>>64736732Recon1 is good even if you don't buy the Magnacut. Fwiw Lynn Thompson EDCs serrated Voyager Vaqueros.
>>64737922I like the natural clear look.
>>64737953You know how a Hyundai isn't like a REAL car? It's kind of like that for me.
>>64736701God that just ruins a pretty nice knife. I'm more of a drop point guy myself but I'd be tempted to buy it. >>64736729Morons. Though I can't really say much given, you know, the MT Matrix and Socom Bravo...>>64737922Blame Tony. >>64737653>64738128Oh fuck I thought this was a meme and not a real knife! What the shit? >>64737953They're good budget knives so long as you remember they're budget knives.
>>64737653Here's your $1250 knife bro
>>64736729it doesn't surprise me that chinese knives are popular, they can offer high quality and great materials at prices where most western companies can't do so.but yeah it's silly to buy a 3-to even 500 or more chinese knife. even if the materials are nice, that's a lot of money to spend on a collection piece from a company without history. but people like stuff with fancy elements at affordable-ish prices, like timascus scales. cant have those from the west below 1 grand very often. it's kinda like those $600 chinese tourbillon watches, yes they'll break at some point and probably be unservicable but heyyy, OMG IT SPINS so cool and you'd have to sell your car to buy something like that from switzerland.on the bright side, since chinese companies put out so many models in a myriad of variants, a bunch will end up sitting on warehouse shelves forever and end up with heavy discounts, and not just the reddit mini-sized choilslop. random example, pic related can be had for 107€ (including tax) (down from 242€) on knifestock.de. titanium framelock and 20CV, can't complain about prices like that; aside from the fact that it takes business away from western knife companies.but generally i try to buy chinese stuff secondhand on ebay, especailly if it's copies.
>Budget: enough>Use: Opening Amazon boxes, LARP nightmares>Laws to worry about: Probably a bunch, but none I'll concern myself with. I think I probably will leave it as a manual opener though. I definitely don't need a new knife. Not at all. I am bored and I have money, though. Has anyone gotten an RMX? How's M390 as a steel? Should I do it?
>>64740990never bought it; not a fan
>go to random gunstore>clearly not going so great there >guy is selling like 12 knives in total, most collecting dust or temu >notice he's selling a S&W OTF>ask how much>$20 And that's how I got a knife that has a safety on it.
>>64740990It's cool that they give you spare parts and tell you the sharpening angle like Ka-Bar does.
