I'm trying to design, build, and hopefully market a bullpup .22. I've been doing some design studies and I'm trying to determine what magazine to use - 10/22 mags are obviously the first choice, but I feel like they'd make the whole package a tad bulky. I've never handled any of the 10/22 bullpup conversions but I have shot other guns with wide stocks (i.e. Tavor) and I'm not a fan.

I'm also considering Ruger Mark mags or CZ 457 mags. The mark mags are similarly available and the form factor gives the stock a natural place to put your hand while shooting off a bipod, although I feel that said form factor looks kind of weird.

Using CZ mags would be ideal, but they're relatively uncommon and expensive IIRC (I don't own a CZ 457 so I haven't paid that much attention). Thoughts? Am I putting too much thought into this?

Stick to 10/22 magazines if at all possible. It is the most widely accepted pattern for .22 rifle magazines in the same way that Glock 17/19/26 magazines are the standard for PCCs and AR-15 magazines for 5.56mm rifles.
>Is it good?
There are shitty ones of course, but factory Ruger 10rd and BX-25 mags are widely available and extremely good by the standards of 22 rifle mags. Most other comparable mag patterns tend to be temperamental and flimsy even in their factory versions.
>But it's wide.
Wider than a single feed magazine sure, but it's not that difficult to work with in a rifle. There are even pistols that have used it outside of the pistol grip. I think the biggest problem would be designing a magazine well where you can successfully pull out a standard rotary 10rd magazine if somebody sticks that in.
>Ruger Mark
There are a lot of different ones and you will inevitably get people confused on which version to actually use. For instance the 22/45 mags for the MKIV aren't totally cross compatible with the older MK III and MK II pattern 22/45 mags (different floor plates). Plus you are capping yourself to 10 rds.
>CZ 457
More designed for a bolt action, so it might not play nice with a semi automatic. Plus they are more expensive, less common and CZ keeps changing stuff around willy nilly so they might not be available forever.
>What other pattern?
It's a shitty recommendation but if you MUST have a single feed magazine then AR-7 is worth considering. The design is very flimsy, but they have been around a long time, higher capacity options exist they are cheap, available and AR-7s are still being made. There are other non AR-7 designs that have used them in the past as well.

Your screenshot looks like Autocad from 1994.

I'll treat those as quads, thanks Wumbo.

I'm proficient in solidworks but I like Autocad for quick sketches.

Mirin both truck and gun. How do you like it? What kind of accuracy are you getting?

10/22 mags are awful. I'd say base everything on marlin for formfactor but after ruger killed the 60/785 it's impossible to get parts and non retarded pieces mags.
