Thinking about getting an old b grade carcano from rti and just loading it up with black powder. What are your thoughts on this?
Printing cases for unfindable ammo is also developing rapidly, if you want one and the price looks okay to you go ahead.
>>64663446Nice frog. Mind if I save it?If you are seriously going to load it with black powder, just learn how to clean it since it's corrosive as fuck. This will include completely disassembling the bolt and magazine box every time you shoot. Is there no low power smokeless load data available?
>>64663678Based. I haven’t heard of that process desu.>>64663697>Nice frog. Mind if I save it?Of course not! Go ahead, friend. lolI appreciate the tip on the bolt and mag disassembly. >Is there no low power smokeless load data available? There probably is, but I’m just not familiar with smokeless reloading. Black powder is just a lot more forgiving and less precise- I know that. Honestly, I have a little 7mm-08 rifle I really like for hunting, but I just also kinda want an old beater rifle to mess around with. It’s a shame I couldn’t get one in -08.
>>64663818Its kind of pricey but Hogden 777 powder isn't charcoal based it's (I think) sugar-based. And there is also Pyrodex which is also a step up in safety over Black Powder but is a bitch to clean.I got an ultrasonic big enough to tale the barrel and receiver off my gun. I feed it tide dishwashing pods and gets it all clean except the bore still got to be scrubbed. Rinse it, try it in the oven at 250F then slather in Ballistol.
