How to get into slingshot hunting? I have never hunted in my life and want to get into hunting small game with it.
>>64668143Just go out and shoot shit with a slingshot.
>step one: buy slingshot>step two: go innawoods>step three: kill somethingthere you go. you're now a slingshot hunter.
>>64668146>>64668153Where do you aim? For the head everytime? How do you dispatch a wounded animal quickly and painlessly?
>>64668198Aim for the head. To dispatch quickly grab it by the back of the head where the head mets the neck, then while holding firmly with one hand just vigorously swing the body in a circle several times. That'll be quick, not entirely painless. You want painless you're gonna need at least a sturdy pellet gun and go for headshots only
>>64668246Wouldn't it be more humane to just hit it again with another steel shot at close range instead of doing this neck wringing thing?
Also, another question: what is the max realistic effective range of a slingshot?
>>64668360You overestimate the ease of hitting your target with a slingshot. Shit's hard. Slingshot hunting is probably the most difficult sort there is short of a david-and-goliath sort of sling.>>64668364That's going to be determined by your aiming ability, not the power of the weapon. You tell us? At what distance can you hit an egg 9 times out of 10?
Plenty of guys who hunt with slingshots on the slingshotforum.com, try asking those for advice. I still have two templates for boardcut slingshots that I designed myself published on that site, the Bad Company and the Bad Hammer. I think the Bad Company is the most popular hammer grip style design on the site.
