what 10/22 should i get? i like the wood carbine with iron sights but the slick one with receiver rail looks cool too. will i miss not having iron sights? is there any accuracy advantage to stainless barrel?

Don't harsh me when I say '86 me missus 1st anniv. present fum me was am std 10-22 w/100rd belt-mag, motor-roller ATF-approved trigger device and a slot car motor controller inletted into stock behind trigger guard. Wooden butt held Ni-Dads. Only variable-rate hip-shooter I ever saw. I mean it could be shouldered and sights used but why?
I did that because twice she got nipped by neighbor-dog and second time she vaporized it with a 30-96 Accelerator our of MY rifle.

The backpacker is where it’s at. Fits a backpack, comes with 4 mags (3 fit in a compartment in the stock). Suppressed with cci standard velocity it sounds like a staple gun.

I bought one of those sport south exclusive 10/22s a few months ago because it was the most basic with a 16" threaded barrel that I could find but it didn't have iron sights, which I later realized kinda ruined my plans for making the folding stock mini14 clone I wanted.

But today I find out they released a new version with irons and threaded barrel for $260 and now I want a that, too.
>>
I need to retake the pic of my rimfire long guns. A few have been added since then. Hell, this one needs updating as well.

IMO go for model 31113, 31216, or 31217 and get your carbine, iron sights, and a threaded barrel all in one. Downside is none come with a wood carbine stock but they're not exactly uncommon out there and swapping it is a whole two screws away. Rail can be removed or if a model doesn't come with one, just grab a Weaver 430T for less than $20. Also the B-TM models exist but I still find the fact they don't come with rear sight dovetails cut fucking retarded considering the B-TM heat shield requires it for installation.

What model number are both of those?

What's a good optic to put on a mark 4 that isn't made in China?

>Suppressed with cci standard velocity it sounds like a staple gun.

Best part of shooting .22 is with a can.

Mine is 31239. The new one is 32000

Very nice rifle.
>>
>Have some extra money
>Can pick between a Volquartsen kit for my MKIV or a new quadcopter
I take it those kits make a big difference in how the gun shoots?
>>
/rfg/ I did a stupid and impulse bought a Kel-Tec CP33. Is there anything I should know about it before I fuck something up? Can I store the magazines loaded or will the feed lips crack?

>>64668892
Seconding the backpacker
>>64670222
Besides everything else it is also much easier to clean. Just pop the barrel off, clean it and get at the guts with the bolt locked back.
>>64670237
See if you can get just the barrel by itself. People upgrade them to bull barrels or internally suppressed ones and throw the original up for sale all the time.

I have a henry goldenboy, not a 10/22, but I think mount related is neat. I don't think I really have a reason to get a 10/22. the closer range to me is an indoor standing only range and the rimfire range at the outdoor range is only like 50 yards deep at the farthest point and the ground is covered in .22 brass so I wouldn't be shooting prone anyway and I have a match AR if I want to target shoot
>>
>>64668892
>is there any accuracy advantage to stainless barrel?
I'm pretty sure the stainless barrel thing is just because the tooling to create stainless barrels is cheaper so a lot of the match/target rifle companies made stainless barrels because, even though the material for the barrels cost more they were doing such low volume it wasn't worth getting the tooling for the nonstainless barrels

Question: Is BX-Trigger kit noticeable upgrade compared to stock 10/22 trigger? Im an eurofag, so volquartsen or kidd is not really a thing here.
>>
>>64672268
For a micro red dot thats great to be able to somewhat cowitness the front sight, but that's way too much eye relief.
>>
>>64672590
You can just buy a hammer kit from volquartsen, power custom or several other makers and knock the 8# stock trigger pull to around 2# for less money. I put a power custom target hammer in for $30 and really like it. Drop-in, no fitting or anything.
>>
>>64672618
>red dot
>eye relief
you can mount red dots pretty far forward and it's fine. that's about where I have my red dot on my henry
>>
>>64672657
yeah, the part
>im an eurofag
is important. Only other available thing except bx i found is MCarbo springs kit.

Uh I'm guessing the unspoken part of that request is that it be very cheap, else you'd just buy an SRO or something

You should be able to find a Sig Romeo RS for around $160, which is """"""made in the US"""""", but for a number of reasons they're inferior to chinese optics of the same price. They're okay tho. It uses a Shield pattern so you can direct mount it to your Mark with a Lobos or Madd Macs mount. Or just buy a used chinese optic if it's some kind of philosophical thing

>>64672235
I read that people crack the feed lips by using speed loaders so I have avoided doing that. Seems like the loaders all force the rim through the lips instead of sliding in from the front. But Ruger sells a speed loader on their site that seemingly risks the lips so idk
>>
>>64672662
I have mine stuck on a pic rail and then moved as far forward as that will allow. If that works better for you more power to you.

>>64672590
>>64672680
>>64672657
The BX trigger is disappointing for what Ruger charges for it. At the end of the day the 10/22 is still a 150 dollar rifle and their performance trigger can only do so much. I paid 50 USD for mine so if you can get it for a similar price I would say go for it.
>>
>>64672898
*Romeo RS Compact is Shield, Romeo RS (Pro) is DPP
>>
>>64672898
If you get a Sig micro I would get the bigger window with the DPP footprint. But I think most of Sigs optics are all chinese parts anyway so its a question of which hands are assembling them.
>>
>>64672899
red dots have unlimited eye relief. it's not really different than a pistol optic other than the fact that since you have a stock you never waste any time finding the dot
>>
>>64672950
can eye relief truly be infinite, because if that’s the case why not just mount it on the front sight and call it a day.
>>
>>64673082
front heavy and probably not a good mount point
>>
>>64668892
I'm looking for a lightweight, high quality barrel for a Fletcher RW 11/22 which isn't threaded because I live in a commie state. Anyy suggestions? I was thinking Kidd. I want it to match the receiver's color btw (black anodized).
>>
Any thoughts on rugers with integrally suppressed barrels? Seen some interesting stuff and with the tax stamp going away would be more interested
https://www.tacticalsol.com/pac-lite-iv-tss-barrels-integrally-suppressed/
>>
Are the new ruger marks blued like the old ones?
