>the few henry rifles that look kind of ok are only in .30-30 and .45-70 and aren't in .35 rem or .360 buckbreaker
>>
yeah

Stop trying to min-max guns you won't have fun that way. This isn't an mmo. It's fine that your 30-30 loses 5 ft/lbs at 100 yards compared to .382 Zorcher (Developed in 2038) just have fun and buy whatevers cheapest.
>>
>>64672622
.35 rem was invented in 1906, only like 11 years after .30-30 and some states mandate .360 buckbreaker due to straight walled cartridge requirements.
>>
>>64672647
My point was that 30-30 and 45-70 are just fine. You're gonna shoot the deer at 100 yards or so anyway.

>and some states mandate .360 buckbreaker due to straight walled cartridge requirements.

You're on the wrong website. Let your state senator or representative know, maybe they change the laws or talk to your DNR.
>>
>>64672709
>just buy .30-30
>can't in my state
>well they should change the law then reeeeeee
holy shit you're retarded
>>
>>64672733
It's a law that doesn't matter that much, it's not a stretch to say they'll change it. You're not asking for a massive sweeping change.

I say give it a shot, send them an email. And in the meantime hunt out of state, you're a day's camp from some good land in the Dakota's or Montana.

My point being this isn't a big deal, this is the sort of problem you discuss at the dinner table because it doesn't raise tempers so chill bro
>>
>>64672743
are you a retard, a bot or a thirdy?
>>
>>64672622
For me .3570 Weyland Yutani is better
>>
Henry, and by extension the 336 action their entire lineup yanked and revolves around, was a mistake.
>>
>>64672829
Their insistance on their stupid tube loading when loading gates have existed for over 120 years was what always pissed me off. Even now that the have loading gates on some models they still have the retarded tube cutout.
>>
>>64672847
tube loading is a nonissue for hunting
>>64672829
I hate how they use the 336 for smaller receivers
>>
>>64672829
Henry has their place.

I cannot excuse the 336 though, I hate it so fucking much.
>>
>>64672829
You WILL have the most dogshit furniture imaginable
You WILL have a fuckugly loading tube that you would much prefer a gate over
You WILL have a less smooth action than a '73 or even '94
You WILL have the most hideous overall appearance in the entire lever industry
And you WILL like it!
>>
>>64672863
>I hate how they use the 336 for smaller receivers
spitting in the face of the entire point behind the 336 and making smaller caliber rifles that are fucking bricks will always make me laugh
>>
>>64672863
>tube loading is a nonissue for hunting
It confers no benefit and makes loading the firearm more clunky and irritating. You don't even drop rounds in the top, just through the stupid little cartridge shaped cutout.
>>
>>64672957
>>64672879
you could drop rounds though the top if you really wanted to and it's easier to load with gloves. it's literally a nonissue on a hunting gun or a range toy

Henry has some of the nicest wood in the industry thoughbeitst'lld've. My 500$ single shot came with wood like pic related. And from what I have heard and read online many people got similar grade of wood, it wasn't just me winning the lottery.

Is there seriously a cartridge called .360 Buckbreaker
>>
>>64673004
is that pic semi related or did you install the comb and buttpad adjust?
>>64673012
it's .360 buckhammer. it's .30-30 necked up to take a .35 rem bullet and I think it's spicer than .30-30 too? the major benefit is if you're in a straight wall hunting state .360 buckhammer is straight walled so you basically get .30-30 even though you aren't supposed to and it uses the same bullets as .35 rem but it's going faster so if you're a .35 rem autist there's no reason to buy a new gun in .35 rem if you were replacing your rifle for some reason because .360 buckhammer does the exact same .35 rem does but better and has more staying power than most other retard cartridges because a decent number of states mandate it. whereas most retard rounds that are only marginally better than .308 or .30-06 might not be supported in 10 years.
You can't even buy a new .35 rem marlin anymore since Ruger bought them. if you want a .35 rem you need to either buy a used gun, buy a traditions single shot or buy a henry brass lever gun. henry doesn't even make a single shot in .35 rem which is weird because they make 10 different caliber single shot rifles
