>what's the best way to deal with FPV drones?>guns? no>missiles? no>lasers? no>other drones? no>nets? bingois it really that easy? if so, what took so fucking long?
>using a net gun with a maximum range shorter than the wounding radius of a guided munition as point defense against that munition.Yeah nah chief, this ain't it
>>64674254true, but it's better than catching the drone with your face
None of these have live munitions on them, if you shoot them down, they're FINNA explode.
>>64674249All ERA should be replaced with a net throwing charge. I'm not sure how to rig 4ft detection though. However ANY distance from the best point it can explode is better. These should have been ubiquitous boring shit by now.
>the year is 2075>the whole planet is glistening from a covering of glasfibrer strands and nylon nets>ironically this covering reflected enough sunlight to halt global warming
>>64674249next step drones are going to be firing rockets to stay out of range of nets
>>64674249>pretends that nets are used in isolation for some fucking reasonShit thread
>>64674249I now understand why John Titor was in a shotgun unit.
just use a shotgun lol. it's a plastic $5 chink drone.
>>64674249spread out, make it expensive, dont make a really juicy target
I prefer the meta of not being there in the first place and letting dumb mobiks get slaughtered instead
>>64674310asian dude w saiga is the best you can do?
>>64674310>russia is white
>>64674254As a last line of defense fr infantry it's probably the most effective you're going to get. Outside of training every single grunt to be at competition level with a shotgun.
>>64674268patently false, my brown friend
Just increase the speed of the FPV drones and make the GWOT fags seethe harder with their outdated tactics.
>>64674249
>>64674351Masterkeys don't seem like that bad of an idea anymore.
>>64674249Nets have been a drone countermeasure for a while. The problem initially in this war was that the drones mostly dropped ordnance and stayed out of shotgun range, so nets weren't an option. Fpv suicide drones get much closer so shotguns and nets are viable countermeasures; the response to this will be standoff suicide drones. Imagine a drone equipped with a claymore instead of an rpg and its initiated on command instead of contact. This puts the drone out of net range, but probably not out of shotgun range.
>>64674268Given how these tend to be fused, yes this will be an issue, even shooting a net at it could set it off. Still better than the alternative.
>>64674353The ideal soldier has an extremely well-determined momentum to ensure his position has an extremely broad distribution density.
