the foundational problem with Chinese military technology development is tha they seem to be focusing on copying the US capabilities rather than focusing on what they actually plan to do geopolitically and building a military force to do that. While China has certain designs on Africa that can fall into the military realm, its military focus is overwhelmingly on Taiwan, and nothing else. If they go for Taiwan, whatever they have is going to be severely degraded and the geopolitical position is going to be confined. I suspect they will never actually go for Taiwan is and their military technology development is both a means to keep the PLA occupied and the right people plied with money.
