dang, all they need now is a constellation of guidance satellites to provision their mission planning an they will be all good to go!

>guidance sattellite network...when?
>>
>>64678348
The US has been similar to Russia, holding on to 1900s relic pieces of technology like giant bombers and aircraft carriers, thinking they are superwaffles, but it would go up in smoke to cheap drones during the first days of a real war with China.
>>
>>64678458
For cheap but still reasonably capable it is hard to beat. A jet engine with similar range is a lot more expensive than the one in a lawnmower and with minimal but enough to at least hit a map coordinate sensors and guidance is about as cheap as you can reasonably get a guided weapon to be. You could maybe get more out of something electric but maybe not.

I still wonder if a pulsejet might not be cheaper.
Also shaheds should be complemented by V1 (steel or aluminium frame, pulsejet, higher payload)
>>
>>64678635
Cheaper maybe but pulsejets are very inefficient. It's basically just dumping fuel into a hot pipe so it's simple but very crude.
>>
>>64678484
This indeed seems rather interesting.

>lmao, this must be some super ultra giga megazord shahed™ then

Black budget shit can be anything. A spy satellite, a bribe, part of a datacenter...
>>
>>64678668
So? Fuel is cheap too.
>>
>>64678798
Fuel efficiency directly translates into range. The pulsejet would maybe gain you a small speed increase (though still slower than a jet turbine or rocket) but have 20% of the range. There is a reason why they never really caught on past the V1.

The role and general specs. That combination was innovative enough to be patent-able regardless if the concept was mostly retarded.
Iran originally bought the design from Daniels (South Africa), but it was a considerably smaller drone with a different role (because it was a revision of the original anti-rad Dornier DAR)

>>

>>64679853
It really destroys the second-worlder arguments that the US can only field expensive glass canons at 50x mark up. They do it all over, and retards repeat it, never once reading the details themselves.
Even the logic doesn't make sense. If shaheds have a hit rate of 5 to 10%, and they cost ~50k a launch, they're a more expensive weapon than a more capable cruise missile that's 4x the price per unit, but with a 50% hit rate. But retards think drones are invincible super weapons.

Not really, since there's a dozen examples that come to mind immediately and easily hundreds more. JDAM, GMLRS, and APKWS are the quintessential benchmarks for cost effective munitions, the F-35 is not only the most advanced but also the cheapest fighter in the world, and the M4 is cheaper to make than an AK of comparable quality. The US has always been the world leader in military bang-for-the-buck, and they've gotten there by investing heavily in R&D instead of just shoving prototypes directly into production. Thirdies will just ignore what's right in front of their eyes and invent whatever lies they need to in order to suit the narrative they've dreamed up.

Normally, no. Trump can't use a war to keep his office, he'd have to get congress to agree on a war in the first place and there's nothing in the body of law that gives him that power in case of a simple war. If he was actually clever about the law and had more political capital to spend he could suspend elections by drumming up a national emergency like on par with the civil war.
>>
>>64680852
>he'd have to get congress to agree on a war in the first place
But not a Police Action which in practice can mean anything short of a formal declaration of war.
There's loads of precedent for that.

>and there's nothing in the body of law that gives him that power in case of a simple war.
The body of law hasn't been a significant impediment to his actions so far.

> If he was actually clever about the law
He's not but he employs people who are.

> and had more political capital to spend
He doesn't seem to be short of this, at least enough to bend Congressional Republicans to his will.

>he could suspend elections by drumming up a national emergency like on par with the civil war
He's probably pretty mad that none of the national guard deployments have incited sufficient conflict to excuse invoking the Insurrection Act but he doesn't really need to do it until either the mid-terms or the end of his office.
His obvious decline will mean he won't be mentally competent to hold office by then anyway though I guess Vance could continue the process.
FWIW: I doubt that's Vance's agenda but who really knows.
