What's the minimum standard to train to if you are going to carry? I am not talking SOF, I am not talking some mercenary company standards.

Just something that a person can't do after 50 rounds, but 100% of people can do after 3-6 months. Think 2 plate bench / 3 plate deadlift.

I am guessing it's 2 rounds on target from rest or holster in x time. What's that x?

What's the best way to train for it?

I like the dot torture method that has you practicing a little bit of everything.
>shooting from concealment
>strong hand
>support hand
It's a good warm up for any range session.
>target transitions
>shoot and reload

not sure how that post got fucked up like that, but I stand by it. forgot to include a pic of the target anyways.

Thanks anon, I am really looking for something super retarded to use as a standard.

Like 2 shots in 2 seconds from low ready within a 3 inch group at 15 yards, or something SUPER basic. I don't know what that standard should be.

Also, I find target transitions on the same target to be useless. Better than nothing, sure, but much nicer to have a couple targets outside or a steel tree. Though I likely won't have time to go to an outdoor range anymore.

And also need a good timer recommendation, like the glock/honda civic of shot timers with a random start beep component.

I have nothing to base this on other than feels, but I think a 2 second draw and 3 accurate hits in 3 seconds at 7 yards is a pretty achievable standard for carry without expecting too much. A two second draw means you have at least gotten consistent with your grip and know how to draw without snagging on everything, and one shot every .5 seconds shows that you have acceptable trigger control and probably won't be pulling shots into the dirt if you get attacked. Realistically, even that's probably beyond the point of diminishing returns for carry, but if a person is going to carry a gun, they should at least put some goddamn effort into it.
