Why aren't scoped handguns more popular?
>>64704485No clue anon… they’re fun as hell in my opinion.Honestly though I think they fell out of favor somewhat as steel target competitions lost ground to practical shooting comp. They’re great for accurate high power shots, but your not firing fast..Pic related is my 444 marlin lone eagle with a 2x Burris long eye relief scope on it. An xp-100 in 221 fireball has been on my “want to get” list for a while…. Seems like both those and the lone eagles lost hard to the contender/encore platform….
>>64704485The scope and handgun design are fighting against each other. Handguns as firearms on paper make zero sense, and we only use them because they're small, easy to draw and carry around. Might as well add a stock, so it's no longer a handgun. Now you have a SMG or pistol caliber carbine or something that makes sense. Now you add the scope.
>>64704575Shun the non believer!
>>64704584It can work, but why wouldn't you add a stock? It just makes more sense to have the stability of 3 points of contact and using your shoulder to absorb the recoil. But now it's not really a handgun anymore.
>>64704638As you said, then it’s not a handgun. And then it’s more boring.
Because target shooting is not their primary use.
