I'm merely stating that there's no need to slobber over something that everyone owns; people can get something they enjoy afterwards; you'll see people buy single-shot rifles, lever-action shotguns, ELR rifles (more common in the western regions due to the desert being perfect for this), derringers, etc. simply because they enjoy it. For example, I can imagine that this rifle would be attractive in states that only allow hunting with straight-wall cartridges. You can't use a basic AR-15 for hunting in a state like Ohio, for example, so a Ruger American in .400 Legend would be appealing.
