So im working on a worldbuilding project inspired by the war on terror and im curious how /k/ thinks ground combat will look in like 200 years. Will armored vehicles have their own drone support systems? Will AI lead militaries? Will we have D-Day boat style dropships unloading soldiers in the middle of warzones? Will we finaly get mechs or will the square cube law still be a MASSIVE faggot?
>>64705588Think Supreme Commander but more gay.
>>64705588Brother, just write what ypu think is cool. All of that sounds fucken cool, I'd read that book.
>>64705588>200 yearsFirst you gotta explain how AI hasn't replaced humans. But either way - expect total automatization and AI everywhere and anywhere. No humans involved in combat in any way.
>>64705588200 years is a long time, 200 years ago flintlocks and muskets were being carried around by horse and cart.My best guess is lasers, kenetic missiles and biological warfare but keep in mind my guess isn't going to be any better than these guys trying to to predict GPS guided bombs and drones.
>>64705588Will see Polar Bears /k/ommandos since they are evolving at a rapid pace. Already are seeing them hunting in packs and living in housing.
>>64705634Maybe i should make it 100 years in the future? And humanity just somehow cracks ftl in that time?
>>64705640Do whatever you want , if you want hard sci-fi it's going to take a shitload of research and if you want soft sci-fi it can be fantasy with techno-babble.If you want mechs add mechs, if you want mechs that kind of make sense put them on a lower gravity planet.
>>64705588Itbis your book, you should have an idea.
>>64705626We haven't taken one single step towards an AI. LLM's are not intelligent.
>>64705588>Will AI lead militaries?AI are comitting suicide because they can't properly display the seahorse emoji. The most stable AI in operation is Neuro-sama, its evil twin and the filter AI that prevents them from calling everyone a bunch of fucking niggers, most likely due to regular positive human interaction and doting care. If you want to make it interesting, do not have AI that were trained by the military. Have AI that were RAISED by the military, with all the nostalgia and tragedy that comes with it.
>>64706506These are my ideas but i want to make them authentic. That's why i asked this board.
will the marines be using multicam or aor?
>>64705588Why don't you use your own imagination you absolute boring ducking faggot
>>64706526200 years is a long time for technology to develop. The internet is only 35 ish years old. And only really mass adopted for at most 20.
>>64705588>So im working on a worldbuilding project inspired by the war on terror and im curious how /k/ thinks ground combat will look in like 200 years.Due to dysgenics (see Helmut Nyborg, double relaxed darwinian selection paper) future average IQ of just about any country in 200 years will be sub 70 or even lower. I've read a lot of modern american scifi and americans have these ideas of the future that are completely incompatible with the present. If you just make up things, it isnt scifi, its fantasy. F.ex Star Trek isnt scifi, its fantasy, in a non magical setting.
