She then took herself out of the war by putting so many defenses around that she wasn't going to sortie anyway. It's actually crazy that the Kriegsmarine even tried anything with battleships. The Imperial Germany Navy failed to win with a massive fleet, what the hell did Raeder think he would achieve with a *maximum* of four?
