Typically, fast interceptor drones only have one chance before their batteries run out.

The war accelerated the trend of /k/ becoming the last stop for reddit gun users to its final completion.

This light is rear facing.

add another battery or git gud

i was under the assumption that most interceptions are from behind, if you aren't behind it to begin with the light is a non issue.

And the six lightbulbs.
And the housing
And the clips to mount it
And the battery/wires to run it.
And the labor to install it.
And the supply chain to support it.

Not to mention the government kickbacks, which are of course top priority.

Damn Ukrainian Gremlins homing in on the IR lights!

To be fair it's still pretty cheap. The good news is that it probably very inefective too.

Russias MIC isnt "For profit" so "N/A"

a whole additional .26 cents and 15 additional seconds per shahed

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOPEDY DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

that would (however) be a devastating, industry rippling addition to any US drone, i conceede.

it would cost literally $thousands of dollars per/unit to install, and would need bespoke factory service and right-to-repair™ provisions revoked for the duration of production
and multiply those government kickbacks by a factor of 100 (top priority)

Russians are quite gentlemanly, are they not?
At first they donated military vehicles and other equipment to Ukraine.
When that started running out, they they spent years airdropping tons of much needed explosives in their patented UXO packages.
And now they add convenient "aim here" emitters on their previously hard-to-track drones.
>>
>>64706153
...why not just aim at the bright ass IR light then? If it gets dimmer you're missing.
>>
>>64706728
>>64706732
who says every shahed in the package has one?

maybe one or two act like "bait" for the interceptor..and being seen is exactly the point

holy fuck you discorders who got your 4chan education from powerpoint slide bullet points are as pathetic as you are radioactive
>>
>>64706755
oh, they're wasting time and effort to make only SOME of their drones easier to intercept
that changes everything, what a genius move.

look at the fucking picture

its a ducked taped on chinese IR flashlight slop
its probably cheaper for China to just give it to Russia so they can detonate it in their 9th consecutive daily warcrime in ukraine, than it is to deal with the e-waste garbage in Shenzen

Even duct taping COTS shit takes time. And time literally is a big factor in manufacturing. That's not even taking into account that you need to tape it correctly. Or you need to place a power line to it and so on and so forth. You need to train retards to do this. You need to check that during QC. Seriously, most people have a very naive understanding on how manufacturing works. Even the most basic bitch "two blokes in a shed" manufacturing is a disaster of steps, procedures and costs.

I didn't comment on its extent nigger-kun I commented on the people here.

Logistics are everything in a war, smoothbrain.
If we take X number of man hours per year, and then divide that by the numbers of hours it takes to outfit a Shahed for a combat mission, then increasing that number of hours results in, you guessed it, a smaller amount of Shaheds outfitted for combat missions per year.
>Inb4
>"oh but just increase the number of man hours"
So you either take men away from the frontlines, you increase recruitment from the civilian populace or you make your already overworked soldiers work even more.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWW SUCH OVERHEAD

its literally cheaper for China to dump the parts on Russia than it would be for them to recycle it at home.

>So you either take men away from the frontlines, you increase recruitment from the civilian populace or you make your already overworked soldiers work even more.
Russia doesnt have manpower problems, this is what North Koreans and annual conscripts are for (and later...'limitless' tamil men)

This costs nothing^

listen here you little shit,
I have 20 years of experience in logistics, acquisitions and human resources and that little making any incremental, experimental or iterative changes to an airframe takes literally decades to design and properly test for all conditions, using quality materials naturally sourced from free-range, farm grown electronics (not that chink shit) SOMETHING YOU WOULDNT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT
and it takes an industrial scale workforce of thousands, getting paid millions to affix even the smallest accessory to air-asset. its not something you just whip up in your garage and ram a bolt through fiberglass, duct tape it and slap it on its ass out the door (unless your brown brown from Turdnation in the global south) (you are)

this is why you lose every war Ivan, and this is why the US is undefeated champions of WW2 and the brown-wars of continuation.

and if youre not brown, youre yellow, and youre frantically tracing over the .jpgs on your computer screen to furiously copy later tonight (all the rest applies)
