Whats the tactics that should be employed against a sniper with 4km range, if you dont have heavy weapon support on hand?

take a step to the left or right

put your hands on your hips and bring your knees in tight

Take a step back. He doesn't have a 4001m range.

Be lucky. At that sort of distance, you get something like 10 meters of lateral dispersion and 20 meters of frontal.

Op is from a country so brown they've never heard of walls

Drones. Or mortar fire support. Or drone-guided mortar fire support.

Ballistic fire? It probably won't hit him, but it'll give him a fright.

Use cover. Chances of him having uninhibited LOS for his full potential range is highly unlikely.

If you're a soldier in a war zone and you don't have heavy weapon support, then something has gone very badly wrong and your tactics should be to get out of there and reconnect with friendly forces. A soldier without fire support is just a guy with a gun.
