Why did the Chinese Anti-Stealth JY-27 fail in Venezuela? Was it not supposed to track f22s and f35s?
>>
The Venezuelans didn't pay their subscription, so they didn't have the newest and most implessive JY-27V, which is actually extremely useful and not snake oil at all, we promise.

how do you react without sounding mad?
>>
>>64722234
Then what? VHF radars can't guide missiles. Even if you know F35 is coming that isn't gonna do shit unless you can do something about it.
>>
Radar provides information for your other assets (S300, interceptors, etc). The advantage is that radar detects air threats much, much earlier and gives fighters time to scramble.
The venezuelans couldn't get jets up in the air even as citizens in caracas were uploading apache and chinook footage to instagram and tiktok. There was video footage over caracas and venezuelan jets did nothing. The US hasn't claimed any air kills. It's literally impossible to assess whether any radars worked, because regardless of whether they received the correct radar reports, they clearly refused to act on visual evidence.

So why couldn't the older version track the chinooks and black hawks?
>>
>>64722234
you can't track stealth aircraft while being jammed by other aircraft and you most certainly can't track helicopters after those stealth aircraft blow up you're radar

The burgers used low tech non-stealth helicopters and the anti-stealth radar couldn't see them.

The mk.1 eyeball was able to track the chinooks. No one was interested in dying is the thing.

Playing the devil's advocate here:

If I was the US, I would assume these things do everything the Chinese claim it does and then some more, and would allocate a generous helping of ARMs launched from a safe distance, along with a generous helping of EW to make sure they don't have a chance in hell.

Call me a coping Rus fanboy or whatever the Ukraine Avengers fan brigade has invented as the latest god awful slur to call the vidka niggers, while ironically pay piggying other genetically identical vodka niggers, but I'm putting mobey ob this being a soft Military coup.

Maduro wasn't remotely popular, his wife had deep connections to Chavez, a third of the country has fled, the economy is down 80% in the past decade, Venezuelan soldiers get fed barely enough to keep them loyal, and you can see everywhere just how popular Maduro was.

I think someone in his administration sold Maduro out, took at 25 mil bounty, moved the right pieces where they needed to be, helped the CIA get their men staged where they needed, and made sure the right hardware was turned off letting Delta, Devgru, and the 75th to work their magic.

Its textbook art of war. The true demonstration of mastery over war is winning battles you don't have to fight.

>>64722423
Maduro had been relying on Cuban mercs basically, to supplement his personal security force because he felt he couldn't trust his own countrymen after the bounty was put out.
>>
>>64722513
Ah yes, the 32 dead bodyguards and countless videos of attack helicopters blasting rockets and cannons were all faked. This must have been a bloodless coup because filthy amerikkkans can't possibly have pulled this off with EW that renders (You)r chinkoid and russoid AA useless
>>
>>64722450
No, they were Maduro's bodyguard. Venezuela already said they had 40 casualties, most of those will be the soldiers manning the air defenses.

It’s a vhf radar. It can detect stealth planes. That doesn’t stop it from being jammed (like any other radar) and it won’t give you enough to actually target them. You need other assets to counter them, like stealth planes of your own, which Venezuela didn’t have.
>>

We don’t know if it failed, all we know is in every case where these things have been bombed the supporting forces weren’t able to stop the attacks. I’m not a chink shill and I still think it’s hyped up but I am very interested if it does at least give you a vague notion of “you’re about to be giga-fucked by F-35’s”. Also wondering if there’s an equivalent on PLAN AWACS and if could sniff out a swarm of LRASMS and at least give you a bearing of attack. If not they’re so fucked lol.
>>
>>64722390
Very credible.
This is of course, what a sensible person with the luxury of time and resources would do.
But the reality is that the modern Chinese are the Soviets of the day.
Cool looking toys, lots of ego-swinging, aggro behavior and prestige shit. But in reality, riddled with faults, deficiencies and problems that they're desperate to hide, but those who know what they're looking for can see.

>>
>>64723843
The Cuban bodyguards would have been guarding his body. The 40 dead Venezuelans were probably either operating or just standing unfortunately close to the air defenses.

>>64722390
Just taking everything at face value isn't a good idea because it ends up forcing you to focus on building a smaller amount of supremely capable in order to overmatch imaginary capabilities, when you might have been better off with a larger number of cheaper systems. It's better to learn what your enemy's weapons can actually do and base your assumptions off of that.
>>
Every description of the operation leads me to believe that a decently planned biplane assault with the USAs level of information could have worked. Maybe with a few losses but it would have worked including SEAD and extraction.

I don't get this chinkoid/russoid narrative that all the AA was offline for whatever reason. Under what circumstances would the USA send its highest value special forces brazenly into an urban center, if there was even a remote chance of them being shot down? Relying on power outages or bribes or whatever just invites disaster when someone inevitably has a backup generator or shoots down your incoming chopper anyway. They wouldn't have been sent in unless we had a hard counter to their anti-air

it's only an early warning radar, not a targeting radar. there are no vhf/uhf missiles it could even hypothetically interface with. even if we just suspend a whole lotta disbelief and assume it's every bit as implessive as advertised, what role does it really play in an air defense scenario vs 5th gens? if you get a faint fuzzy return and don't have your own stealth fighters to vector in and pray they survive to visual, then all it's good for is knowing when to take cover before shit gets loud

To be fair, the fact that the US had to do an in and out mission and didn't hang around to bomb targets at will for a few hours later is proof that the US was concerned of potential viable threats in the area.
Whether those threats were radars is unlikely, but there is a limited timeframe for decoys and chaff to work effectively.
>>
The Chinese used their backdoor into the radars and intercepted all signals for analysis while appearing not to work on the Venezuelan side. When the US attempts anything against China they'll be caught off guard by the efficacy of the radars. All Chinese sold equipment function as signit devices when used against us hardware

It got blown up.

The chain was supposed to be:

Chinese radar gets rough positions

Days is fed to central computer

Russian radar with very narrow beam focuses on the exact point with high power to overcome jamming

Lock is obtained and upgraded S300 missile of fired

What happened is:

Chinese radar got jammed and blown up.

Russian narrow radar didn't know what to aim at.

The S300 got blown up.

Afterwards F35 could act without risk and took out all the other SAMs that have leas range than F35 missiles.

Helis had dedicated jammers for the Venezuelan IGLA Manpads
