Radar provides information for your other assets (S300, interceptors, etc). The advantage is that radar detects air threats much, much earlier and gives fighters time to scramble.The venezuelans couldn't get jets up in the air even as citizens in caracas were uploading apache and chinook footage to instagram and tiktok. There was video footage over caracas and venezuelan jets did nothing. The US hasn't claimed any air kills. It's literally impossible to assess whether any radars worked, because regardless of whether they received the correct radar reports, they clearly refused to act on visual evidence.
