>>64728419Probably not long. The main point of infantry drills was unit cohesion, not the use of the weapons themselves (as others have said, just poke them with the pointy end). Marines will already understand the basics of drill/formation, and the basics of bayonet fighting, which is just short spear fighting. I would think it would take a week to ten days of day-long training to make them combat effective. Give them a month or two and they'll be on par with most semi-professional levy armies.

Get a few water cooled maxims for the orcs and a few WW2 era anti tank guns for the oliphaunts. Replacement barrels for the maxims too. And some guys with assault rifles to protect against stragglers.
