this thing will probably be the best all-rounder daylight optic for the foreseeable future.throw a dot on top and you're set. what more could you ask for?
>>64732839I fucking hate those pricks, watching the video I was like "fuck off with your shitty SFP garb- oh.""Well it's going to be MOA only again so they can suck m- oh." "Well it's going to cos twice the price of the 3-9 so fuck that shi-." Well played, you cunts. I'll get one.
>>64732839>what more could you ask fornot having to throw another optic on top of it in order to make it useful, for one thing.
>>64733469it's 3-9 or 4-12you don't have to put a dot on it, plenty of fighting has been done with just 4x acogsbut it's become common to put a dot on those too
its so best you dont even have to own one to make a thread shilling it!sorry eokek but Hop (and the ebay listings) have spoken: its a shitty cope optic that cost too much and has too many downsides.
>$1,200 for a 4-12 scope>Same weight as other 4-12 scopes, but it's short so it looks lighterLol. Keep it.
>>64732839Hard pass. ACOG is life.
Would have been cooler if it were a 2-6 and if they released an enclosed EFLX or a ring mount setup that is ready for enclosed mini red dots like ACRO or 509T etc.
If you want a fighting rifle get a prism.
>>64733517unequivocally based
>>64733790An integrated red dot is a great idea. Seems overdue. Put the turrets on the side, make the top of the LPVO (including the lens) flat-ish, and you could incorporate a low profile red dot with a reasonable height over bore. No im not describing the Leupold DEVO.
>>64733517>>64733795why are you an acog poor? Elcan spectre 1-4 is life
>>64732839>what more could you ask for? A dot mount machined into the scope body.
>>64736541our timeline isn't ready for mainline's glory
>>64733508It's still light. I think a typical scope with a similar feature set is going to be in the ballpark of 25oz. I guess the VX-5 series probably falls in the same weight range without illumination and an inability to hold zero if dropped. Between it being an eotech product and being a compact package, I suspect it's particularly tough, and the mini acog mounting system mitigates a lot of the scope ring bullshit that you would otherwise have to deal with. Combine that with the fact that it doesn't use the entire upper receiver rail on an AR-15 and it has a pretty compelling niche.I suspect the biggest bugaboo will be the eye relief and eyebox.
>>64733517This.
>>64732839Does anyone think one of these would be good on a Marlin SBL 45-70?
>>64736814I suspect the eye relief is too short for a traditionally stocked rifle without a cantilever mount. Iirc it was like 2.5-3" or so.
>>64733795Byeah
>>64736545Elcan is dogshit compared to an ACOG. Enjoy having an optic that is worse in nearly every metric.
>>64737098Looks cooler and I just like itFeels easier to get behind than the 'cogIdk why you feel it's necessary to attack fellow prism users, prisms are awesome
>>64733801One likely scenario for a civilian on a homestead and defending and 3x9 DMish with a reticle to calculate the distance up to 600 yards. The other scenario is traveling in a populated area when the threat is less than 100 yards so dot and middy barrel. ACOG not useful when not on a line of fighters vs. a line of fighters and if I was, ACOG would be the top of my list.
