.50 BMG thread; I know a few anons out there own one....Anyways Barrett is giving away a free $3000 silencer if you buy a brand new M107A1.I sort of want to buy a M107A1 now.Anyone have a Barrett .50? Do you recommend it?

>>64732883The can definitely cuts back on the blast. It's still a lot, but it's better. Also you can't fit it with the can on in any normal case or safe. Otherwise it's a easy way to waste .50 ammo if you got the dosh. It will always get attention at the range.

>>64733495Technically, at least it will be further away from you. The can makes even the shorty tolerable to be around. Not pleasant by any means, but you're not literally giving people concussions.

The problems I ran into are:a) .50's are expensive to keep fedb) a lot of ranges ban them, and even then they boring to shoot at short distances.They only really make sense if you are wealthy enough to afford the ammo AND you have a place you can shoot it regularly. If you or your family has land in the boonies or you happen to live near a .50-friendly rifle range with decent length then consider it. But if you have to drive three hours to be able to actually shoot it you probably won't get your moneys worth out of it.

Free silencer is worth dick plus rebates are always trying to be scams. Last one I tried didn't work. They take forever and hope you forget about them which I did. Fool me once.
