>Ukrainian ground drones are now solo holding positions, chunking ziggers with .50 cal
Are you ready for the war in ukraine to evolve into a situation where russian meat waves get gunned down by robots, while ukie soldiers focus on air defense and drone operation?

>A Ukrainian commander said his troops used a single remote-controlled vehicle with a machine gun to hold frontline areas for nearly six straight weeks.
>The gun-wielding drone used by Zinkevych's troops was the Droid TW 12.7, developed by the Ukrainian company DevDroid. It is a remote-controlled tracked buggy equipped with a .50-caliber M2 Browning.
>Two versions of the ground drone with grenade launchers — the Mk-19 and AGL-53 40mm — were also approved last month by Ukraine for official military use.

Every day we get closer to the future I was promised.

There is still a problem with UGVs right now and that is that they aren't cheaply mass produced in the millionslike hotcakes like FPVs are so Ukie command still tries very hard to put resources into rescuing them which isn't their FPV doctrine but is a lot more like their infantry doctrine. It's great, because Ukies don't have a lot of men and nobody wants to be sent to a drone field, but it also makes fighting this war really expensive for Ukraine and having money isn't really in their ball court right now.

I was thinking since Ukraine is developing ammo resupply UGVs, and recovery UGVs for damaged armed UGVs, they should really start looking into autonomous SPAAG UGVs to protect the armed UGVs in the first place from drones. Because even though UGVs are simpler to produce than BMPs, they are still not quite on the level of FPV drones which are able to grow in numbers across the battlefield faster than they get destroyed/bombed. You suddenly see a lot of Vampire bomber drones these days in combat footage, because they are figuring out how to not dripfeed them, they need to get to the point where they are comfortable to stop being so conservative with armed UGVs and saturate the battlefield with them to the extent where FPV teams can't cope with the sudden blitzkrieg of advancing UGVs fast enough before they secure territory for the troops, just like how FPV teams struggle to hold off massive saturation attacks of random meat waves before they dig in and make a foothold.

I've seen an OSINT account report on this 2 or 3 weeks ago, don't think it was meant to say the drone was out there for six weeks straight BLASTIN ZIGGERS, but rather that it was used to hold the position for six weeks and during that time got sent back and forth between the position and a camp to get refuelled/maintained restocked with ammo etc

The russians have started to use land drones for supply runs as well, but they're a few years behind and historically unlucky

Ukraine effectively has infinite money since they can just go into debt and they have a wartime economy so the negative effects won’t matter until later.

>>64734554
zigger flesh vs ukranian steel.
>>
>>64735096
Wasn't Zelensky notifying allies not too long ago that he needs the seized Russian bank funds to fund operations for 2026 and Euros cucked out and gave him a multibillion dollar aid package from their own pockets instead? Pretty sure I didn't just imagine that
>>
>>64734554
Finally, the war I've always wanted to see. I didn't get remote controlled model WW2 planes doing dogfights but at least there's this.
>>
>>64735067
It says in the article that it was indeed holding positions for 6 weeks, and that the average time spent resupplying and redeploying was only a few hours every few days. Naturally the drone wasn't in combat for the entire 6 weeks, but it was on-mission.
>>
>>64735143
>I didn't get remote controlled model WW2 planes doing dogfights but at least there's this.
I mean you do have interceptor drones, the reason you don't see them using guns that much is it's just cheaper and more practical to make them explode once they get close to the shaheds

And that's a fucking tragedy. Where's our P-51 and P-38 drones with 4k gun cams? You could fund them with livestreams.
>>
>>64734610
imagine this guy eviscerating like 7 malnourished russian mobiks
>>
>>64735243
Even P-38s which are like 20x bigger than interceptors could only carry enough ammo to shoot for seconds before running out. Just more practical to make them small and 'splode. Simple as is
>>
>>64735253
Imagine Ukies start making their trenches like the edge of the arena in that show. Then every time a mobik sees it and hesitates a battle droid comes out and flips him onto it like a pancake

a loan with basically the frozen russian money as the collateral. so it's money for ukraine now with the frozen asset decision kicked down the road. they have a mechanism to take billions in debt from eu now.

Precedent. When oligarchs assets were frozen back in 2022, a lot of saudis and chinks started pulling money out of the City (London).
>>
>>64735134
Money in the bank is fake anyway.
Any Russian assets seized is just work that Europeans would have to do anyway, no difference between using your own money or the sanctioned money technically until Russia can collect. If Russia can never collect then nothing changes but it can be used as a carrot for ending the war.

i have no clue what i labeled the vid of it but the Steam Deck has been showing up as a commercial-made controller/computer for these sorts of setups for a while in the field now. i'd almost be surprised if someone in the military didn't try to get gaben to make them a marine-resistant version.

Yeah but not mobile and not widespread unlike today.

Some anons might not realize how important this is. If you have a .50 cal on a tripod with an automated/remote activation mechanism, you still need to have a team of guys (probably with a vehicle) haul that shit out to whatever position is going to be fortified. If it gets mortared or droned or whatever, you will need to do so again.

By contrast, the UGV with a .50 on it can deploy itself and in many cases return for repairs if it gets hit, with zero soldiers having to go near the position. Not only does this save lives, but it also greatly simplifies logistics, as you eventually only need a single manned point several km behind the front lines to send and receive UGVs

Reloading is THE major problem actually, and they are effectively gifting Russians these systems freely when they leave them behind too.

>>
>>64736223
They produce 12.8x108mm ammunition so its feasible they can use captured ma deuces, but i haven't seen any videos of them doing so

Eurosystem cash reserves are nearly 1.123 trilion euros. All euro cunts combined have even more combined. As long as Zelensky is able to manage his relations with the EU states, he'll never run out of money. The eu itself has so much fuck you money, it's absurd. When the price for natgas went nuts in 2022, the eu just paid inflated prices to get all natgas tankers to unload in the EU, causing sri lanka to collapse and almost cause Pakistan to collapse into civil war.
No fucking idea what Putin's plan is, but he's competing against a madhouse with too much money.
>>
>>64736223
If they're capturing these drones I'm sure they're collecting enough .50 to try them out. There have been videos of Russians testing M2s and offering their opinions compared to dshks for years now.

I also didn't realize it was a British show? I was just sad when it disappeared along with the proto-game streaming cable channels. I thought those were weird but cool for games I didn't have.
