Is it normal for a bit of lead to shave off when pressing the bullets in?Also I accidentally seated one bullet about 3mm too deep but these are mostly empty powderpuff 44 loads so that’s not dangerous, right?
>>64747190>shaved leadWiden the case mouths just a little more next time, maybe a quarter or half turn.>3mm on a powderpuff loadYou'll be fine.

>>64747190Yes but not how your bullets look. Something is slightly off with your loading process. Not enough to be dangerous to fire but not right. Did you resize the cases?
>>64747215I resized them with the Lee 44 Sp die The resizing was the least confusing step desuThe part that gets me is I used HP-38 at the target load level and like more than half the case is empty>>64747197Yeah I think I didn’t flare them enoughThis was my first try at reloading ever and the bullets sat in so I thought good enoughI’ll do more next timeAlso thanks Chad
>>64747258With faster burning powders like HP-38 in a pistol case, a very small portion of the case will be filled. A load of Bullseye makes a .44 Magnum case look absolutely cavernous.
