my employer is sending me to the ghetto next few weeks. I have a few boxes of match ammo at my disposal and nothing else. how viable would it be in a self defense situation?

>>64754900On the one hand, it's a bullet. It will put a hole in someone if you shoot them with it. On the other, that's not exactly an ideal load to carry, for several reasons.Most "match" ammunition is loaded to just above the minimum velocity and energy levels required to meet most "power factor" requirements, so that the shooter can focus on pulling the trigger and not managing recoil. They're also usually loaded with light round nose bullets. They won't expand, and they won't have a lot of ass behind them.If you're really worried, just go buy about 50 defensive loads, shoot a couple magazines so you aren't surprised by the recoil in an emergency, and then carry the rest in your gun. They're not that expensive if you aren't blowing them in bulk shooting drills with them.
