burger Anons, you know how annoying as FUCK it is to ship handguns, due to how you have to drop it off at a UPS distribution center since USPS won't take em because of some weird ancient reg?Well, not anymore!https://www.justice.gov/olc/media/1423701/dl>I hope this isn't viewed as political, I just wanted to share the news.
>>64760841>want gun>walk into gunshop that has gun>pass background check >buy gun same day and walk out with itIt's that shrimple>issue a warning for talking about Epst**neJannies can felate my cock for $0.00 per hours gargling.
>>64760841It'd be very nice if next time I need to ship a handgun for repair (hopefully never but lemons happen) it didn't cost stupid money, but to be clear USPS isn't under the DoJ and that letter by itself doesn't do any instant change. DeJoy may well go along with it, though since it'd be directly and unilaterally violating the law it'd probably go to court. If the DoJ's interpretation is correct then it'd be struck down, but just saying it could be awhile. Or maybe we get lucky and it's quick, but this isn't like some of the moves made.
>>64760858I mean ship handguns as a random non-FFL to a FFL, anon. That's the point of this thread. To celebrate how you can just use USPS now.sorry if I wasn't clear :(
I remember during peak covid when carriers would ignore Signature Required and would just toss gun-containing packages at the front door of shops when they were closed... fun times
>>64760841ive had gunbroker boomers get pissy with me for not sending handguns via usps and straight up tell me "i don't care if its against their policy and also possibly illegal i do it all the time" so byeah
>>64760878fun fact you can perfectly legal to mail long guns to someone in a different state if it's in 'your name'. Like if you intend to pick them up at his house (unopened) to go hunting in their state or whatnot.done that trick a few times
I’ve got a stupid question. The ban on shipping firearms to your front door is due to guns requiring a background check at an FFL, correct? More specifically the idea that it makes it impossible to determine that the person that’s actually receiving it is not a prohibited person. The CMP can ship long guns to you.Capitol Armory can ship suppressors to you.Manufacture/gunsmiths can ship to you.So logically, shouldn’t you be able to order a gun and have it delivered to you as long as you fill out a digital 4473?
So, looking at it cynically. Is this just a move so the current administration can say they're expanding gun rights without actually doing anything significant?
>>64760941gun laws never make sense, anon. don't try and find logic.e.g. the entire SBR portion of the NFA is nonsense because pistols were supposed to be NFA items, originally. We've been so used to it we fail to see the stupidity sometimes
>>64760947Maybe, probably. It's like the lowest hanging fruit in existence but I'm not going to complain about something good.
>>64760986no, the lowest hanging fruit would be to eliminate the import engraving requirement for surplus.so many boomers would CUM at the idea of having surplus shit without nasty import marks (me too somewhat desu)
>>64760841Well that makes shipping my USP to get cerakaoted a fuck load cheaper. I'm glad this mess finally got sorted out because it was absurd trying to ship pistols anywhere
