>>64763006desu, the whole premise is some fantasy football shit because its based on the notion that hard plates cover the whole body, which they obviously dont; so just shoot elsewhere. like outside of western militarys, side plates are very rare and hard groin plates are unheard of, so the vast majority of the body-armored planet is just wearing hard plates over the center mass, so standard FMJ is still perfectly effective against the rest of the body. all that is really necessary is that your round can penetrate soft armor, since that legitimately can cover the whole body, but if youre forcing your enemy to wear a full armor ensemble with shoulder, leg and groin guards then thats a small victory in of itself.

Even at 100 meters, aiming for a limb or head or pelvic girdle rather than center mass is fucking hard, considering your target will present for maybe a couple seconds at best and will be moving. Go to the range and try it yourself sometime. E-type silhouette, 100 meters, only hits to areas not covered by a standard SAPI plate count, you must pop up from the prone or from behind cover before each shot, and you must make each shot as fast as you can.

Plates are only getting lighter for the same protection, enabling weird shit like Ukies running around with 8x10 Level IV hescos in abdominal pouches. There goes the plan of gut-shotting people.It is only a matter of time before advances in UHMWPE enable lightweight and flexible full torso Level III protection. Sure, steel core rounds will penetrate given enough velocity, but think also of how annoying terminal ballistics will be against coked up motherfuckers who don't feel pain, who aren't afraid to die, and are wearing armor. Those same advances in PE, which are inevitable, will enable increasingly lightweight Level IV plates good for M2AP and thus XM1186 out of a short barrel. Some very overbuilt PE plates today are able to resist M855 with no ceramic. That's a new development.We're probably less than five years away from an honest 4.5lb Level IV plate.
