special forces troops are highly overrated
>>64765503In the upcoming civil wars, most of the special forces personnel will play the role of generals
>>64765503ok
50% corrupt cop, 50% cannon fodder. In many respects special is a pseudonym for antisocial, these are the troops nobody wants to fight alongside and the army doesn't even want in the ranks because they're a glaring liability.
>>64765503They're not really worth it in terms of raw combat power, and really most of them aren't good enough at leadership to be >>64765623.What they are really good at is operating independently and fucking shit up. They're who you use when you need to do some old fashioned gangster shit, and honestly most of them are more like gangsters than good soldiers.
The loss of many of these men from regular units is a net detriment to the armed forces as a whole
>>64765503Maybe.Maybe not.My people are like Indians, they're in the trees, you won't know who they are.If you want to fuck around, then we can find out about that together.
>>64765818This. The idea of having your “Uber” units all in one place is absolutely fucking retarded because you’re taking away from the quality they bring to your force as a whole. All it takes is one extremely violent and exceptional autistic criminal to whip the other dregs into shape and you’re wasting their potential.
>>64765503>special forces troops are highly overratedHave you been talking to Maduro again?
>>64765831Just think off all those top commendation winners who would be poached for scalpel work when they were instrumental as the hammerYou need those fuckers in the right place at the right time
>TIER 1, COOL>Nah man, *those* guys aren't.......TIER ONEEEEpeople who talk about special operations units like the NFL should be executed on grounds of cringe. My social media was full of this faggotry in the days after the Maduro raid
>>64765623>most of the special forces personnel will play the role of generalsBeing good at PT and shooting drills doesn’t make you a good strategist. I haven’t met any SF officers I guess, but all the enlisted Green Berets I’ve met have been high functioning sociopaths with coke problems. At the end of the day it’s just another job in the Army with a specific skillset like the infantry and the guys who pack parachutes all day.
>>64765882High functioning sociopaths with upper addictions are peak murderers. No need to belittle their worth to the mission because you have womanly feelings fagboy.
Having a guy that's willing to lay in a bush for a week, pissing and shitting all over himself the whole time, is an essential part of modern combat doctrine and drones totally don't make him obsolete
>>64766166Not belittling anyone, just pointing out that SF is only another cog in the war machine like every other part of the Army. Every piece is essential to the overall effectiveness of our military. Looking at the big picture, I wouldn’t say that SF is any more important than the aviation mechanic guys who maintain helicopters in a hangar all day or the intelligence analyst guys who prepare the mission briefings for SF. All of that support is what enables SF to do their job. It just so happens that SF attracts antisocial drug addicts the way intel attracts virgin weebs.
>>64765503If anything, SOF is underrated. Elite units which can execute highly complex and dangerous tasks are incredibly useful. Even in a big war against a peer adversary, units like that are extremely useful. Ukrainian special operations units have punched way above their weight throughout the entirety of the war. They knocked out a huge chunk of Russian strategic long range aviation, and have crippled the Black Sea fleet. That's not nothing.
>>64766166Why would you want "peak murderers" with a drug problem as your generals? How does being good at killing civilians to cover up your botched raid make you good at organizing logistics for thousands of men or tailoring the means of your use of force to accomplish political ends?
