Is there a branch that is sort of functional and elitist in the russian military?

>vdv
Nigga please

In India, the Navy is the most elitist branch, they are professionals about it

>Black sea fleet is now the submarine force
Yeah, I know they were pathetic in this war
>>
>>64766673
It used to be VDV, unironically. They were one of the few competent ones actually, but they were grossly misused and wiped out as a consequence of the command's incompetence
>>
>>64766673
Electronic warfare maybe?
Drone units?

Submariners are the only part of the Russian Navy I would call actual militants and not civilians in cosplay.

only one I am aware of is the drone unit Rubicon. Only unit ukranians hold in regard as dangerous. everything else is shit. This goes especially for hard to verify, never expected to be used branches like the strategic missile forces (nook-ookers)

This is what immediately came to mind. Also this post (the OP's) is useful because it confirms to me that Indians post here regularly for some fucking reason. I noticed on a lot of posts that compare nations that India is always shoehorned in with nations it doesn't share the same standing with. It's fucking weird.

It's simple; if they don't know how to do their jobs, their own vessel kills them, necessitating a minimal competency level and improvisation ability that makes them a practical different species from their surface counterparts. I expect Russia's boomer fleet to shrink as it suffers a brain drain.
>>

Good point
>>
>>64767146
>if they don't know how to do their jobs, their own vessel kills them
but clearly they don't.
those guys are literally standing in the reactor room without anti-c clothing.

That's been known to happen though.

Eh. Nothing a glass of vodka cannot fix.

OP here, funnily enough I am not Indian. I am just interested in naval history and I mentioned the Indian Navy because like the Indian military, the Russian one has a very bad reputation.
Having said that probably a lot of jndians post here
>>

> literally standing in the reactor room without anti-c clothing
That is HATO conspiracy about radiation XAXA havr you seen this "radiation"?
>>
>>64767022
OP here, I stand corrected lmao. Maybe what I heard was about naval aviators, maybe they are elite
>>
>>64767289
They kind of have to. Night carrier ops are hard. And you don't wanna score 1 wires on a daily basis.
>>
>>64767285
Well, if you see blue with eyes closed, you happen to see radiation in action. Like those poor Chechens who stole rods of 60Co in a dilapidated hospital.
>>
>In India, the Navy is the most elitist branch, they are professionals about it
Bitch please, look up how they were buying a russian carrier
>>
>>64767146
You are retarded. The crew of Kursk didn't fuck up, the tech and the system around them did. The crew did everything by the book and still died.
>>
>>64767485
Weren't they tricked into paying like 4B, more than a brand new Nimitz class carrier lmao
>>
>>64767505
It was actually 2.2 billion, but this was after the russian shipyard stopped working on the ship for two whole years and had to be wrangled in their blatant acts of corruption by the Russian president himself because Russian military exports were only netting them 8 billion in total. Mind you, this shipyard had only worked on submarines so they were never equipped to deal with carriers in the first place
>>
>>64767599
Which shipyard, Mykolayiv?
>>
>>64767605
Sevmash
>>
>>64767125
Sweet Mary, what is this and where can I see more of it

Russia had the second most successful space program on earth, with two brief stints in the #1 spot (1957 to 1966, 2012 to 2018)

I always wondered what set it apart from, y'know, literally everything else in Russia
