Cost, weight, reliability, and practicality are all challenges, it's hard to convince armies to drop that much money on an optic when it's significantly heavier than previous optics, there's a ton more failure points and depending on the target and range, may not offer a significant advantage over previous optics.

Most of the time people will miss their target vertically which is difficult to realise if you don't have a spotter. Maybe not for everyday grunts but for someone who shoots at a long range this would be pretty useful.
