does it even make sense to not have a fighter jet HUD on every gun sight?
>>

Aren’t they more or less doing that with the optic on the M7? In any event it comes down to what you’re willing to pay in terms of weight and money
>>
>>64768973
I want one.
>>
i doubt fighter jet HUDs have that much latency and jitter
>>
AHH! There’s a leftist meme in my optic!

We don’t need all those words and status bars. But a holographic rangefinder and round counter would be real neat.
>>
>>64768973
What the other anon said about the M7 optic, the jews also have one IIRC. Cost, weight, reliability, and practicality are all challenges, it's hard to convince armies to drop that much money on an optic when it's significantly heavier than previous optics, there's a ton more failure points and depending on the target and range, may not offer a significant advantage over previous optics.

What am I looking at here exactly? Why is there some random tail on it? Is this a 10/10 in America?

It's supposed to be visualizing bullet drop to give you irl aimbot, but it's a joke sight that isn't actually calibrated for the round and range.
The new US army meme sight apparently does something similar, but hardly anyone has used it and talked about it so far.
>>
>>64769268
How does this work out if the point on the dot is further than what you're shooting at is? Do you lock the distance in?
>>
>>64769278
You point it straight at the target and press a button to lock in the range, then move the glowing reticle over the target.
>>
>>64769247
It's an imitation of a gun funnel used in fighter HUDs when firing without a lock-on that shows the path of the rounds accounting for aircraft movement. The gizmo in OP just has a cheap INS to make it look nice, it doesn't actually work.
>>
>>64769227
Well they do have a bit more real estate for computing and power supply is less of a concern.
>>
>get into firefight
>have to boot up gun sights because I can't have them on all the time since all the unnecessary shit kills the battery
>get shot
*le big sigh* Will OP ever NOT be a faggot?
>>

Imagine having an Abrams targeting computer in your scope
>>

It's an airsoft sight that shows BB drop/spin on the display. Manufactured by @EXCEL__ on xitter, think he only sells them at Comiket.

Embedded controllers can boot up in microseconds. Even linux can be trimmed down to boot under 500ms.
Don't confuse micro$oft corporate bloatware with properly optimized systems.
>>
>>64769278
I suspect a laser telemeter would work.

>>64771223
You could have contacts in the grip so that it boots up when you grab it and does the telemetry when your finger's on the trigger.

Most of the time people will miss their target vertically which is difficult to realise if you don't have a spotter. Maybe not for everyday grunts but for someone who shoots at a long range this would be pretty useful.
>>
>>64768973
that looks awful. all that cluttered bullshit would get you killed
>>
>EEGS gunsight for shooting BBs at other fat retards
NGMI, red dot is all you need
>>
>>64769247
It's a jet fighter gunsight, basically.
