OH, NO NO NO, turdie bros, our response? Looks like or wonderwaffle fiber-optic drones are no match for US' Epirus HPM. What do we do now? Also, can an anon make a WebM out of this for further use to make turdie shill seethe?https://xcancel.com/epirus/status/2011107372530614662>Epirus’ Leonidas Demonstrates Successful Use of High-Power Microwave to Defeat Fiber-Optic Controlled UAShttps://www.epirusinc.com/press-releases/epirus-leonidas-demonstrates-successful-use-of-high-power-microwave-to-defeat-fiber-optic-controlled-uas
>>64770334Totally unfair of the Great Satan to ruin things, yet again!
I wonder how rapidly you can deploy and fire this system. Also the range and how much care you need to take to not hit friendlies would be intersting to know. I doubt its nice for an infantry man to be hit by this.
>>64770375>deploy and fireIt's on a turntable to point the phased array into a sector of fire, which is seconds, and it takes a button press to fire. The 'shot' is milliseconds long. It's a phased array which can cover the whole 90 degree cone or just pencil beams within it to avoid friendly fire.>much care you need to take to not hit friendliesIt's meat-safe. The company's done ads with jogggers walking around in the beam, so it's no more dangerous than a jammer.>rangeThis is the weak point of HPMs. It's basically GPMG/HMG ranges. It has at minimum 1km range, maybe 2; but definitely under 4km.
>>64770334This kills the thirdoid shill
>>64770419>The 'shot' is milliseconds long. It's a phased array which can cover the whole 90 degree cone or just pencil beams within it to avoid friendly firI would like to see this system tested against militarized civilian drones and purpose-built military platforms, but from my understanding of the system it shouldn't be all that much different with regards to a "time-to-kill" window between civilian all purpose/sports drones and military-grade drones>It's meat-safe. The company's done ads with jogggers walking around in the beam, so it's no more dangerous than a jammer.I would disagree and say that the actual beam isn't being pointed towards the joggers, so the "safeness" of this system is still up for debate. To be honest, I would treat it as if it was an active radar system and stay clear of the thing when it's powered on at the very least. >This is the weak point of HPMs. It's basically GPMG/HMG ranges. It has at minimum 1km range, maybe 2; but definitely under 4km.I think that, for a first gen system of this caliber, the range itself is fine. The real issue is the detection of threats and how quickly the system needs to take in order to lock onto targets and then start the process over again if it needs to readjust its firing arc.
>>64770375>>64770419What this anon said, but, range is from a couple of meters to less than 10km, based on interviews by Epirus people. They also come in different sizes, wattages, and range ability.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JPmtz1GrDpwhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=El-yNGlyhFMhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HUVyrR3J8z8Also, read these:https://dsiac.dtic.mil/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Webinar-HPM-DEWs-Tatum-1.pdfhttps://www.dia.mil/FOIA/FOIA-Electronic-Reading-Room/FileId/170041/https://dsiac.dtic.mil/?s=HPM>>64770466>The real issue is the detection of threats and how quickly the system needs to take in order to lock onto targets and then start the process over again if it needs to readjust its firing arc.Detection will be done by the same KuRFS radars (these MMW radars can detect objects the size of 9mm bullets), acoustic, EO/IR optical, and EM signal sensors that's used by M-SHORAD, M-LIDS/LIDS, IFPC Enduring Shield, the Marine's HAMMR-Highly Adaptable Multi-Mission Radar, S-band Enhanced and Extended Multi-Mission Hemispheric Radar (exMHR), and Marine Air Defense Integrated System (MADIS). All of these are going to be linked together with the US Army's Integrated Battle Command System Maneuver (IBCS-M) for C-UAS duties. Anduril is making that, and with Anduril's EagleEye they're trying to put acoustic sensors on every soldier which will further enhance UAV/drone detection. I'm not going to post links for all the systems I mentioned, you can look them up yourself, if you're that interested in actually learning something.https://www.anduril.com/news/anduril-selected-for-u-s-army-s-integrated-battle-command-system-maneuver-programhttps://www.rtx.com/raytheon/what-we-do/integrated-air-and-missile-defense/kurfshttps://www.rtx.com/raytheon/news/2024/02/08/meet-lids-a-sure-shot-against-droneshttps://www.defensenews.com/native/raytheon-missiles-defense/2022/11/22/birds-planes-drones-kurfs-radar-can-spot-them-all/
AWW, where did all the turdies run to? Funny how they stay away from this thread like the plague, while bumping all the shit threads to bury it.
>>64771063>while bumping all the shit threads to bury it.It wouldn't be a /k/ post without some schizophrenia. Dronefags may be subhuman, but they are not THAT subhuman.
>>64770422>>64771063>anti-drone luddites stuck in a perpetual state of absolute malding>t-this new wonderwaffen will surely btfo them!its amazing just how booty blasted the advent of cheap and effective drones has made so many people, it's literally schizo tier
>>64771304>thinks being pro-consumer bomb drone is an anti-luddite opinioncheap bomb drones were a cheese strat and their complete nullification by actual superpowers was inevitable
Not to rain on your parade or anything, but real drones don't fly like that during war
>>64770375>doubt its nice for an infantry man to be hit by this.Infantry are expendable. This whole project shows why 1 scientist is worth 1000 solders.
>>64771304They only work on third world shitholes with fourth rate militaries, like Russia, and maybe Chiner.
>>64771333They can only fly one way. It really doesn't matter, as they're not faster than the speed of light or the beam steering speed of basically an AESA array.
