I prefer the 1893 action to the 336 action but no one makes an 1893. if I was getting a pistol round I'd get an 1894 or a Winchester 1873.
the tube seethe always seems retarded to me. outside of cowboy action shooting and defensive shooting the tube feed even without the kings gate is fine. you don't need to top off load while hunting and the tube is safer to unload.

it's cheap, the whole reason the 336 action even exists is because it was cheaper than the '94 action and that's basically all it has going for it. not nearly as smooth and sure as shit not efficient with weight.

The only actual issues I have with it is that the lever fits really fucking poorly, and the modern style laser checkering looks fucking disgusting on a lever gun.

I think Skinner sights are the answer for men like us.
I think I'm going to buy the fold up ladder sight, because my .30-30 has a Leupold qr base/rings...theoretically, when I pop the scope off, I should be able to use the ladder folded down since the buckhorn is so tall. I dislike buckhorns too, but I don't know if I have much alternative. Pic related.
I'll post another cool sight of theirs. Yes I fanboy for Skinner Sights lol

yeah I have >>64778202 on my golden boy. if I was going to hunt I'd probably just go with a red dot and make the comb higher. the only reason I'm going with the irons over a dot is because it's a .22 and I can't get both the irons and the dot comfy because they are on different plains. a skinner received peep and ramped bead is max comfy. granted Lyman and Williams make better peep sights since skinners are fine when you are shooting them but are annoying to set up with the chineseium screws and rotating peep
