I've been debating between a Smith and Wesson 586 L-comp and a Model 19 K-comp. Smith's QC has had me on the fence, but I'm really wanting one of those 386 nightguards now. I really hope they get their shit together with their QC.

3, actually. The pump action one, the semi-auto one, and this newest "AXR" monstrosity.
>>64782912
>>64782934
It's kind of ridiculous when pic related routinely sells for half the price of the "new" pre-B model. Maybe there are some serious CZ75 enthusiasts that care about this, but I certainly don't.
>>64782243
>Is it a contest to see who can have the most unrealistic gun prices now? Fuck it, I wanna pay $30,000 for a regular semiautomatic gun!
The "collector series" costing $12k isn't actually a problem - it has unobtanium original furniture from L85A1/A2s, they're only making like 50 of them, and they're marketing it as a limited run for serious British militaria collectors. The real problem is that the "production" model (the one they're going to actually produce for semi-normal people to buy) is only going to be replicating the L85A3... something no one actually wants.
>>
>>64773549
>>64777808
it's because trump is president so there isn't a ban fear
>>64780110
most people panic buy so sales went up after sandy hoax and before the 2016 election and then dropped after 2016 then shot up with the fake coof and blm riots and 2020 election and then dropped after Trump got reelected because there isn't a ban risk and also the market is massively fucked due to inflation and a hiring freeze
people don't need to buy guns every year unless you are collecting them like funko pops. you don't buy a car or fridge or washing machine every year. guns are durable goods. they either sell during panics, when someone puts out a fundamentally better product like the sig p365 or when laws get changed like the awb sunsetting, the expansion of CCW or a bunch of states legalizing straight walled hunting rounds.
sales will probably pick up in 2028

Yo it might be the stupidest thing I've ever seen in my life.
You can argue that picrel is sort of fun, cute, and whimsical. Not functional, but cool as a toy or status symbol.
But $20k for a retarded and actually gimped Laugo range toy is literally brain-damage tier and I will forever be Laugo's enemy now. The Kel-Tec memes have nothing on those faggots.

I think you're wrong on this one. First model 75 is a famous gun for weebs. Id argue it's more of a weeb gun than a firearms collector one. I think it'll sell at least as well as the MK23 once prices get more realistic. I see it settling at $1-1.1k.

>is that a reverse belt clip?
It's a Tandemkross accelerator thumb ledge. They're partnered on this model.

>good, subhumans shouldn't be able to use guns
I see ambi more as a design robustness and training thing than a catering to lefties thing. Design robustness: requiring the gun to have symmetrical controls also forces you to improve its internal symmetry, which in turn affects the gun's balance and wear patterns. Training: you want to be able to shoot with both sides. You won't always have full use of both arms/hands/shoulders, and it's like practicing art with your non-dominant hand, or switching hand-to-hand combat stances. It builds hand-eye neuroplasticity.

>>64783677
Yeah, shit sucks. But it's to be expected with imports.

>>64783980
Mossberg's shot show appearances have been weird for a while. Last year they had so many new releases that I decided not to post most of them – but none were very interesting. The most interesting was the 590M Standoff: https://desuarchive.org/k/thread/63212253/#q63216769

Someone mentioned recently that they were surprised mossberg is still in business. On the non-LE side, I kind of agree. The descent into turkshit was inevitable.

At least they're releasing something new, it's a good concept and it's actually in production. A lot of these small pop n pop shops just show an extremely early concept just to get funding bux then disappear.

If you want something you pretty much have to beg an existing reputable company to make it. There just isn't a market for these old historical guns anymore, yes that includes Cold War era guns now. Everyone wants whizbang tacticool shit they can put all sorts of doodads on which sucks because it all ends up being plastic consoomer grade garbage.

interesting. it has a reservoir of loose powder that is fed to the chamber by a plunger to avoid cookoffs and the headaches in creating a durable compound that must resist cracking and cookoffs at the same time. I will never accept complex "grip modules" as a substitute for normal grip panels, or even H&K-style polymer grip side plates. If I can't make it out of a 2x4 and some files, then I'm reliant on the manufacturer to give a shit about offering a real variety of grip module options, and reality has shown that they don't. Sadly, Sig of all companies is the only one that backs up the "Modular" marketing term with a wide range of grips instead of just small/medium/large, while everyone else relies on the aftermarket to take up the slack.

So last year they said they were spinning up production in Las Vegas and would have no issues making the K2 here in the US, and that would be great because they wouldn't have to deal with the ATF cucking them with import laws. Now, for some reason, they're struggling to make lowers here in the states and they are fighting to get the uppers imported. This shit is so frustrating. It's probably going to be another year until we see a single fucking product from this company.

What's the deal with forced reset triggers at shot show? Nevada supposedly bans FRTs with their 2019 "bump stock ban", but there are companies showing off/demoing FRTs at shot show. Does the law not actually cover FRTs? Or does nobody just give a fuck about the law?
>>
>>64787859
Literally just need to be fat, beard, sunglasses and any lanyard to get in after the first day
>>
>>64788153
If I had to guess, a large part is because Shot Show is like the 6th largest expo held in Vegas every year, so just due to the amount of capital they bring in for the state probably grants them some leeway. Also, why risk arresting people who would actually have the funds and backing to fight an FRT charge AND drive away a massive money-making event for your state, when you could just turn a blind eye, wait a week, and then arrest a random resident (who likely has no resources) to set an example instead?
>>
>>64788153
>>64788310
Everyone producing stuff at Shot Show has an FFL. I'm not Nevadan and don't know the exact details of the law in question but I think it's typical that there are exceptions for FFLs, in the same way you can see machine guns shown off at SS and other stuff intended for police or military that are illegal. Maybe there's some exception around that, seems odd that you'd be able to demo a machine gun but not an FRT. And since they're legal in other states, just demoing stuff that isn't for sale seems like it'd be OK.

As >>64788310 says it's not inconceivable that they're just not enforcing it, but given there are actually quite a lot of regulations around firearms manufacturing and these are businesses not just rando civvies I think it's more likely there is some sort of exception around
>"it's legal to demo stuff you're legally allowed to make for sale anywhere in the US even if you can't sell it direct to people here"
or
>"since FFLs are under federal law that preempts in this case"
or something.
>>
>>64788085
A modern trapper pistol is a cool novelty.
>>
>>64788390
This. Most states backdoor all their ban laws for LE which also means FFLs get the backdoor too.
>>
>>64787752
>>64787899
I'm not 100% that Pirate Pistol is the actual name. There's no documentation on it.
>>
>>64787737
Oh shit, they brought it back! Tippmann brought this thing to Shot 2025, apparently more as a display piece than anything. It received almost zero coverage except for Fuddbusters, who immediately recognized it as an overgrown Visible Loader. Glad to see they haven't forgotten it.
>>64787090
Hate to admit it, but depending on the cost I could actually see getting one. I was always tempted by the Taurus Circuit Judge, but it was obviously just an existing revolver with a long barrel and a weirdly shaped stock, and it cost a little too much money for what it was. Maybe being Turkshit this will be cheap enough to justify the purchase.
>>
>>64788390
there's no FFL exemption for the NV law. The only exemptions are LEO/Military on official duty
>>
>>64788649
Yeah that situation is why I went looking for it. He also uploaded it to a second account (FuddBlasters) so it had even less visibility last year.

The law does no such thing according to how it is written. Even bumpstocks now would be allowed thanks to the federal bumpstock ban falling apart.

The State AG asked rare greed to not return them to Nevadans and they agreed to do so and then he wrote a press release saying he was going to fight against machinegun conversion devices.

Probably went like this:
>Jew says you can't do FRTs
>people bring them and do it anyway
>there weren't any cops there
>the cops don't actually care anyway and would probably just ask to shoot it

I work for a sheriff, in one of the most restrictive states no less, who says don't enforce any bullshit gun laws. FRTs are pushing it but if everyone else can have them it isn't fair to just punish citizens of certain states. Getting red blooded cops to enforce gun laws is a challenge anyway unless the person holding them is a felon or bad dude, this is why they have to use absolute clowns like the feds and have whole dedicated agencies for it or it wouldn't get done because no one gives a shit.

>Does it have the garbage, shallow rifling that pedersoli puts on their other reproductions?
No idea. In fairness, the original rifling of this period was, shallow, slow, and required patched bullets. In either case, I don't really care. The Baker rifle reproduction is something that has quite literally been in the making for 15+ years. A very vocal group of enthusiasts have been begging for it, and Pedersoli has finally answered.
Before now, the only options for a Baker rifle were
1. A shitty un-rifled, Baker look-a-like musket
2. A half-finished parks kit from a small shop in Oklahoma that you then have to craft into a working gun
3. An original genuine Baker for $10k+
Within a certain niche group, this is a big deal.

I also looked at the pietta python. The guy there said their goal is to make it near parts interchangeable with an old python. So if people need replacement parts for their real python, they can get some from pietta, and a little fitting will fix an otherwise broken gun.

ARfag cope lmao, just get a modern rifle. I stopped clinging to cold war era shit (specifically AKs) when I realized how much easier it is to set up a modern rifle than having to search far and wide for compatible parts to get those things to be comfy and work for you. Even the AR is annoying in many ways. That stupid buffer is a relic, just get a rifle with a folding stock if that's what you want, or better yet a bullpup. Stocks serve no purpose except adjusting between lengths when wearing armor vs no armor, which none of you notrainings need to worry about because you don't do it anyway.

The bird head grip one folds too and not much further than the pistol grip one. I think it's a cool concept, would get it if semiauto and it folded more. Not sure how they'd achieve that since the mag tube runs into the trigger guard making it kinda bulky to fit in a pack or any type of scabbard. It also doesn't lock into place when folded so seems cumbersome.

Found this other version too, note the price. This is the same gun obviously, has the same takedown mechanism and even has the same grips, but the $650 guys (RIA) are claiming they're made in the US? How the fuck? The triple action is the best thing it has going for it by far its like HK LEM, just buy a later manufactured Lionheart - it's a vastly improved DP51
It's not baaaaad it's just basically a reworked S&W 3rd gen - which were well and truly behind the pack of wonder nines in that by leaps and bounds
>>
>>64790178
On how it actually works
>>
>>64790180
I had a Lionheart LH9 and sold it because of the triple action. Well basically sold it because I don't like double action, and the triple action is just another complication. I use that word very lightly, it can just cause manual of arms confusion. I was trained on striker fire single actions and always stuck to the simplicity of it. Having two different things happen when you pull the trigger is weird. There are some pros to it though, I'll use the triple action specifically. I did choose that because it's an improved double action due to the way it "decocks."

>double action gives you second strike capability (typically all hammer fires do) so if you get a light strike you get a second, harder strike, and the increased trigger weight indicates to you that something is wrong (not that you'll notice it when shitting your pants in a real gunfight)
>the triple action allows you to safely holster, the safest way to holster a hammer fire is with the hammer down and your thumb behind the hammer, so it can't actuate and fire even if something pushes against the trigger. With the LH9 you can "decock" it to triple action mode, and your thumb is already right where it needs to be to holster. Then when you draw to your first shot, it's already in single action (the triple action is basically a long single action and allows you to carry SA with the hammer down)

It's also the only gun I've ever ND'd attempting to drop the hammer to get it into double action mode, and I blame the light SA trigger pull if I had to blame something mechanical. So maybe a DA/SA with decocker is safer if you have that autism where you want to carry in DA. For me it's SAO or DAO with a safety, obviously I'm dumb so the redundancy is useful.

There's absolutely no way the actual Boomers (not what we call Boomers) still are creaking around in their mobility scooters and picking up 2011's for that much money. I refuse to believe it. I believe even less that it's physically possible to do anything to a 2011 to materially cause its construction to exceed $2,000 grand short of giving it to Johnny Dang.

You can't have a collection now, collecting is a thing of the past. Prohibited by current excessive costs. Companies are charging way more than guns are worth in parts and labor. So just pick one gun that's your go-to rifle and go-to pistol. There will be a time in the future where you settle on one rifle and one pistol as your go-tos anyway and you'll wonder why you even have a pile of other guns. They turn out to be a waste of money. I went through every arcane cold war era gun that's shilled on here and found them all to be pieces of shit that were hard to use and accessorize. Modern rifles are all made with standard optics mounts, tons of mlok slots, built in QD sockets, standard threads, thumb selectors, and left side charging handles. The vast majority of new designs being produced are this way because that's the best way to do a gun (for handguns most are ok with just a polymer strikershit). So you have that going for your generation, a shit ton of user friendly guns on the market where all the kinks are already worked out by us older generations trying to bubba our guns to make them usable.

You could get one go-to user friendly modern rifle, and have an alternating fun rifle. Get a G3 this year, sell it and get an AK, sell it and get something else, etc. It basically gives you around $1k in assets, and guns typically retain their value or go up if you sell during election season or libshit freakout season (like now). I guarantee you will get sick of these guns and have no real need or want for them.
>>
>>64789818

>>64789829
Good on you for spotting the reference. $1250 for this is extremely fair when you consider that an Airshit version would probably be much higher for no reason. As for the stock, someone will just make an aftermarket one that's spring loaded.
>What after market?
Just watch. There will be one guy who does it for the love of the game, just like everything else when some autistic person sees a problem they feel needs fixing. This is why Flux's PCCs got extremely popular. No one was making spring loaded collapsible or swing frames around a glonk or sig, and so they just swooped in. Now everyone and their mother suddenly remembers that spring loaded stocks have been around since the 70s but then died out because Fudds sporterized everything to shit.

DESU, these really only exist with the 90% of your post. As in, everything after the gun itself is the expensive part. The gun? Not expensive. There are dudes walking around with optics on their EDC that are more expensive than the EDC itself. Why? Because everyone lost their minds and thinks parts need to last for 500,000 rounds or they're dogshit. What I did, and I don't give a fuck if it makes me look poor, was to get the absolute minimum number of things I needed to work with the maximum number of things and leave the rest without those accessories. I just take the sight off and put it on the gun I want to shoot. I don't care if it takes 5 minutes. I don't run around with a collection of suppressors, I have three (3) and will never need to buy another because those three cover 95% of every single caliber that'll ever be produced or still is produced due to the range they cover. CAGLARP retards slamming into Boomer "I know what I got" is why we are where we are.

This thing makes me so happy. I hope they see the value in a rifle version, though. If it's anything like a real visible loader, the strange receiver makes the barrel feel a lot shorter than it really is. The bolt literally hangs out in open air when pumped all the way back. SBR versions, threaded versions, sky is the limit. Might be cool to thread one and silence it but I'm not sure how strong the lockup is on that design. May be the second gun using that design ever as far as I know.

When I said pick a go-to I didn't mean pull something out of a trash pile in India. You should think long term, you want it to last. None of these plastic guns are gonna still be functioning in a generation or two when the you-know-whos outright ban guns and your children and grandchildren have to fight. Buy steel guns and steel mags. Definitely not plastic and not even aluminum, I've handled a Vietnam era M16 and the aluminum was all grinded up, especially the mags which no longer had BHO function and needed duct tape to keep the floorplates on because the tabs were long gone. Demand the market to make steel guns again if they're gonna charge so much. It should at least be of lasting quality.

2011's were also specifically designed to ease the manufacturing burden over 1911's - you have a frame which is essentialy a milled block (it can also be stamped) with minimal machining operations compared to a railed 1911 frame and a sub frame that can be mostly polymer.
Staccato led the charge though and they're 2000+.
There are sub - $1500 2011's like the EAA's/Girsan/Tisas', Stealth Arms (one piece frame so not quite a 2011), and the Fusion Firearms XP

When you reach the end of the line you realize there's no point in trying to standardize the civilian market and hold onto these old arcane cold war guns, including ARs. Recently made guns are so much more user friendly and they should all be bullpups, or at least have much more on the market. It's a more space efficient setup. You're a notraining who's never cleared a room or operated out of a car. Why don't you use a 5 foot long musket? Why don't you daily carry a rifle? Their size is too big to be practical. Yes even shaving off 8-10" of length by bullpupping extremely fucking useful.

it's also because ARs don't fold

If they made a suitcase long enough for the AR to fit it could work. It attaches to the optic rail on top, so any gun that can fit in the case can work, and different size case shells can work. The button just drops the case, the apparatus on top could actually be a lot less bulky it seems. Cool concept, they should make different size case shells to go with the release apparatus though for different guns.

Bullpups are best when they're PCC sized, ie a 13" .300blk bullpup like the WLVRN Micron is tits.

The prevalence of new FRT's is making the advantages of bullpups more pronounced and underscoring disadvantages like trigger pull, like with the AUG and how controllable it is at spitting lead in FRT mode despite clear downsides over a normwl AR without modification.

What are we talking about in reference to cold war guns? FAL's and M14's?
A G3 with a rail is going to perform as well as many AR10's in the accuracy department

It's a Benelli M3 clone in SPAS clothing, I assure you it's MILES ahead of the SPAS, and even if they do it Doogie QC like they did the SDS Duo-SYS M3 clone, you can just put in Benelli parts and break out the flitz

I would love to give you a lesson on building clearing and within 5 minutes kf doing it with a longgun you're gonna wish it were significantly shorter. The issue with retards like you is you don't have any real training or experience. There are very great advantages to a bullpup. Now most SWAT or SF retards will just grab an AR with a 10" barrel, because they're not autistic enough to realize how much that reduces its performance. That's half the barrel length a 5.56 needs to have adequate fragmentation. So they cucked themselves and are basically shooting a .22

>>64790783
You picked a bad example because G3 aftermarket parts are extremely expensive due to HK tax. A good claw mount is like $500 and sits too high. Only one G3/HK91 exists that has an optic rail standard, the PTR91 GIR, which I'll agree is g2g. But they also don't have any mlok or rails standard, so you have to spend another $100-200+ on that and there's maybe 2 good options that are always out of stock. Your gun needs a sling and a light bare minimum, again that's a training issue. So not having the option to mount a QD socket or rail section is no good. The options for stocks are terrible, and none have a QD socket so you have to run a ghetto sling setup that you can't easily switch between rifles, or screw and glue a screw-in QD mount which again is ghetto and bubba'ing. Or just get a modern rifle that has all the necessary shit already thought out.

Sorry for long posts, I hate these fucking captchas. You should also try clearing a building with a fucking long ass G3, one of the longest examples you could've picked. I was the bullpup autist that wanted to bullpup mine, but taking the stock off it was the same length as my fullsize AK because the receiver is so long. Even so, it would be better as a bullpup because you cut off nearly a foot by removing the unnecessary stock. It's just hollow plastic with no mechanical purpose. It only gets in the way when clearing or shooting out of a vehicle.

Why not buy the collapsible stock you can use on an SA/FAL instead? It actually does the job. Issue might be finding one? Maybe not, haven't looked.
>>
>>64790999
I had a collapsible stock on mine and it was extremely fucking heavy and uncomfortable to shoulder. The bars that extend out are solid steel bars and the butt is solid steel covered in the hardest rubber known to man, or some type of plastic. So made ir uncomfortable to shoulder/shoot and made the gun tip rearward drastically. As in you let go of the front you go muzzle up, and that's saying something considering it's not a light gun at all. The stock was so heavy it still tipped an all steel rifle with long medium profile barrel backward. It's not a realistic option at all, again arcane bullshit that isn't user friendly. All my old guns are just backup guns, that's one thing they have going is reliability.

You have to basically special order a G3 clone without a welded rail mounted now, try again. The GI-R and the Century new CETME both have welded rails.
PTR only makes small batches of non-railed GI's anymore.
There are now several inline stock options, bitching about QD is meaningless, HK's were designed around HK clips, snaps and HK loop hardware - which is still relevant and vastly superior to anything from its era or before.
>>
>>64791181
You haven't even taken the QD pill, don't talk to me. You know nothing of comfy setups. I bet your sling isn't even adjustable, bahaha hahahaha!

why?
>>
>>64791769
So I don't have to buy 10 high quality slings for my 10 guns, I can switch the same sling I'm used to and that does what I want it to do (adjust length based on clothing/armor thickness). Good ones cost a bit so slinging every gun isn't economical. For loaner guns I get the sling I like in every color. I have 3 $40 slings and 6 of those fucking $20 Magpul QDs, though a few were stolen. Comfy setups cost a lot, n00b.

>lol, what are you supposed to do with the gun when you run out of ammo in the field?
You've misread that part anon:
>The BrashZero is fed from detachable sealed magazines. When the magazine is inserted into the gun, the seal breaks, allowing the action to feed. Once the magazine is removed from the gun (whether because it’s empty or not), it can not be reinserted. The magazines are not designed to be refilled with the ammo components in the field, but it can be done at an armorer's level.
It's not saying you can't put fresh mags in the gun, it's saying that you can't put one in, use it until it's 50% full, take it out and then put it back in again, and that empty ones can't be refilled in the field. Whether this is actually an issue or not depends on the specifics frankly, soldiers aren't normally carrying around a ton of loose ammo and a few mags and then refilling them in the field anyway, they're filling before patrol or whatever.

This one claims that eliminating all the weight of brass means you can get 450 shots for the weight of 210 cased rounds. That's a significant enough savings that it might well be worth some militaries just leaning a bit more heavily on their logistics chains. And there are significant savings to be had as well (and supplier flexibility) if you don't have to give a shit about cartridge production vs just buying components.

Obviously how well it actually WORKS is the important bit but the approach doesn't strike me as inherently worthless. It's interesting research anyway.

I was actually going to get an AK last year but paying like $1200 for an "alright" one didn't seem very worth it to me.
I got one of those CA-3 G3 rifles a few months ago and I like shooting it much more than my AR even if ammo is more expensive. I have a CZ-75 as my carry gun that I was considering selling to get a used USP in .40 or .45, both of which I prefer shooting much more than 9mm. I also might just keep it since the USP's I have been looking at are only like $500 USD.

Don't listen to him, WASR's are dogshit. You end up paying like $100 plus extra for new furniture. The best AK you could buy today that isn't complete biodegradable potmetal is a Zastava, those are the only ones really worth the asking price.
