Is there any reason to buy an SLR104 over a good kit build with original barrel other than resale value?
>>64826207Imo, no not particularly. Especially if you want to use certain 5.5mm "military" type stocks, it might be better to go with a kit. Getting into 5.45 seems like a fools errand to me, but sometimes you want what you want.
>>64826318Honestly at the rate I shoot these days ammo prices don’t make a difference. I find a lot of 5.45 for around what I’m paying for 7.62x39 and I was thinking of getting an MP5 clone of some kind for when I want to shoot on the cheap.
Anyone ever try this stuff. I see it every time I go to this store
>>64826339>>64826339>I was thinking of getting an MP5 clone of some kind for when I want to shoot on the cheap.>The AK to HK pipeline is real.Auslander rausIf you just want a 9mm trashblaster, why not an AK?
>>64826359I have a small collection of STALKER guns and there is no 9mm AK in the original trilogy. It would actually be my only western gun other than my pistol grip Maverick 88.
If brass Belom and Igman is only 3 cents a round over steel TelaAmmo is it worth using? I read that ak's will mangle brass so I might not be able to reload but if I ever get a furnace I might be able to melt down the brass and use it for casting parts I can use on my lathe/mill
>>64826432I run Belom out of my Saiga and have no issues with anything that would prevent you from reloading it. And it’s great ammo, very clean.
>>64826339Get MP5, cooler than any 9mm AK's available.
>>64826438cool ill probably go with that
>>64826480>>64826438I did go with that
All my niggas corrosion test their ammo. The only ammo i didn't find a batch of corrosive in them somewhat was Barnaul and S&B.

>>64827596You got me there, it's not as cheap as it was when I got my KP-9. The magazines still beat a MP5, they're only $30 a pop for new old stock.
>>64827569>>64827594Not an AK

Made some more progress on my Sadu Krink build. I'm using a recreator CL CHF barrel with PSA Krink components. The PSA components came with rust on them (they warn about this on the website listing) but they seem to be in spec when it comes to bore size. My only complaint is that they don't come with pilot holes which is a pain in the dick. OFC they're not chrome lined but I don't really care about that because it saved me hundred of dollars. I think this is a Childer's Romanian receiver but I can't remember. I cut all the side folder holes by hand with a drill and files. The furniture is from Riley but I won't be keeping it for long because I intend on installing the Groza conversion on this one.
Milling a spot in the AKM trunnion so it can accept the side folding latch.
>>64829397what milling machine? looks like round column
>>64829207But this is a woman (female)
>>64829416Milling is a bit of a stretch on my part. Its actually just an endmill bit in my cheap drill press with a cross slide vice bolted onto it. Its fucking terrible and I don't suggest you do it for anything other than very gross/crude cuts. In this case I just needed a flat spot to drill out the pin hole. Some trunnions have a step right where the hole goes so the bit will walk unless you flatten it.
>>64829425chubby Mugi gets me really turned on. Love when a woman puts on the pounds after having kids

>>64829487I love watching Mugi and Mae from C&Rsenal shoot cause the recoil makes them jiggle lmao
>>64829440Oh ok I was just curious yeah a drill press isn't the best they aren't really rigid enough for something like that but if it works send itI have a bridgebort ive been learning machining on
>>64829500>Mae from C&RsenalThanks for the rec!
>>64829521If I were unleashed with a proper mill I'd be doing heinous shit. I've been thinking about getting one of the cheaper grizzly mills or a drill/lathe combo because I'm short on space.
>>64829563You would probably be better off with two separate machines if you wanted a lathe as well. If you do get a mill i would avoid something with a round column because if you have to move the Z axis you will have to find your part again.
>>64825739>>64825944goonerbin
Traditional or slutty? I like slutty because its a 5.56, which is already nonstandard in my mind and I don’t have any other slut rifles.
>>648299395.56 IS a standard cartridge for AKs. The Galil has existed for 50+ years ffs.
>>64829958Nah. Galils are Jewish, and Jews are nonstandard hominids (demons). 7.62 and 5.45 are the only real AKs.
>>64829963I guess Bulgarians, Poles, and Serbians are also that too since they have all made AKs in 5.56 that are standard issue in their militaries.
>>64829992Bulgaria, Poland and Serbia all adopted 5.56 in the 1990’s after the fall of the Soviet Union. Serbia also never issued the M90 in large numbers. If it came about post-communism, it is NOT a real AK. Sorry, I don’t make the rules anon.
>>64830018>I don’t make the rules anonAnd good thing because you're a fucking retarded nigger.>hurr dis AK didn't come from the Kalashnikov region of Russia so it's not a REAL AK, it just a sparkling assault weaponkys

>>64830126No, I wasn't. I had years to ignore 5.45, and will do the same with 5.56 AKs. But that doesn't make them "not AKs".>deflect to pRedditCope more, here's a 5.56 Romy Champ to cry on.

>>64831307NTA but why does it matter to you so much? This is like saying a diesel engine truck isn't an automobile because the first car was gasoline powered. Its severely autistic and not in the good way
>>64831335It doesn’t matter that much to me, I was the one who posted my 5.56 M90 for fuck sake. I have like 4 5.56 AKs lolIf you’re gonna (you) me I’m gonna (you) back. I think NATO AKs are cool, fun and a viable weapon but I’m not gonna delude myself into thinking its a real AK. Its a 5.45 cope, thats why you see all these faggy reddit niggers putting pod arms followers in 5.45 mags. Is a goofy ass 7.62x39 AR15 a real AR? Fuck no. >severely autisticNS, look where you are anon
>>64831307>Why don’t you post a list of who fielded the 101 and which wars it was utilized inWhat kind of criteria is this lmao? Stupid fuck

none of you better fall of this
>>64831355So Poland is just coping by using the Beryl? I seriously gotta ask but how can you be a snob and a retard at the same time?
>>64831488Unironically, yes. Poland was so desperate to clean NATO toilets they developed the Tantal and the Beryl. They don’t even make the Beryl anymore, they’re onto the Grot because even Poland realized that 5.56 AKs are a meme.
Does anyone happen to have the ribbed CNC warrior extended 4 piece flash hider? They still make the smooth one but im after the ribbed one to fit the vibe of my build. If anyone has one they wanna get rid of either reply to this or shoot me an email at Galilfag@protonmail.com
>>64831620Retarded got it.
>>64831971Almost as retarded as thinking that 5.56 has been standard AK cartridge for over 50 years lmao noguns
>>64831307The equivalent of this retarded niggerdom would be a fal autist claiming any fal not chambered in 7.92 kurz or 303 british isn't a real fal. Maybe you should cover your dick in honey and stick it in a beehive. It sounds more pf your speed, sped.
>>64832548It is truly an odd, if not wrong opinion to have Finished Headspacing and riveting today. Had to modify my AK builder jig in order to crush the folding trunnion rivets. By default it won't extend far enough because you might bend it. Seemed to work fine for me. Tomorrow I'll replace the gas piston in order to finish populating the barrel. It's a shame that I have to drill out piston rivet because I really like the purple/red finish on the bolt carrier. I might try the Birchwood Casey "browning" solution they make for black powder guns because I'd really prefer to keep the plum look.
>>64832548Damn you really are a noguns. The FN FAL was prototyped in 7.92 Kurz and later .280 British, not .303 you retard black gorilla nigger.
>>64832524>not loadedKek poo fag, also where you get your ribbed molot mag on the far right?
>>64832768Have you decided on what finish you are going to use or just raw dog the raw metal?
>>64829440Which cross slide vise do you have? My wen is pretty solid. Converting my Saigas with this tax return.
>>64832832Note you only focus on a minor error and not the fact that a fal in 7.92 kurz, .280 british or 7.62 nato is still a fal you giga nigger. Go play with fetch with an ICE flasbang.
>>64832869Its an AMYAMY "3 inch Cross Slide Drill Press Vise 2 Way X-Y Compound Vise Mill Drill Press" It does everything I need it to. I got this one because it was the only cross slide that would fit on my tiny drill press table>>64832840I will probably Parkerize it and spray paint Rustoleum over it. Might just leave it parkerized if it stays too cold to paint
>>64832899>minor errorNoguns cope. You don’t know shit about guns because you don’t own any.Besides, your comparison is apples and oranges because the FAL was DEVELOPED for the 7.62x51 round. The AK was not developed around a NATO cartridge, that came ~50 years later solely for commercial export.
>>64832946>FAL was DEVELOPED for the 7.62x51 roundmmm no sweetie try again. Keep trying you'll get it eventually. I'll be here for you until then

>>64833709Its so evil as hell looking
>>64834153So no refuting it is an AK made, as standard, in 5.56? I accept your concession.

>>64835790Thought getting one too, has the same aesthetics of a standard AK trigger but the performance of an ALG, only review I have seen is from klayco, still waiting for more reviews.
fucking ship already
Anybody here mill out an AWB WASR-10 to accept double stack mags? Looking to do it for mine but don't know the whole process, am newfag to AKs
>>64836495Not personally, no. But a lot of the single stack magwell WASRs also had single stack bolts. So if you open up the magwell it could end up with feeding issues because of that iirc.
Would it be pointless to buy this for a 16" AK? Reports vary on whether or not it'll cycle a semi-auto. This will be on a 16" with a CAT ODB.
>>64836067Holy shit those prices are high as giraffe pussy
>>64836991Tariffs, Springfield imports MIM parts from India on the M1A.
>>64836702Its easy enough to do with hand files and and a dremel. Don't listen to anyone that says the magwell or lack of receiver dimples cause mag wobble because it's not true. The fit up is determined by the front trunnion lip and the mag release lever. As some other nigga already said take another look at your bolt because some of them are narrow enough to cause problems. You could buy a proper AKM bolt but you can't just expect it headspace properly so you will have to spend an additional $100 on go, no-go gauges. If you have a single stock bolt I would advise buying a new bolt and headspace gauges before modifying your rifle>headspace on new bolt is goodgo ahead and carve out the magwell>headspace is badleave the rifle as is unless you are willing to re-headspace the rifle with the proper boltIf you already have a double stack bolt then disregard everything I said I just carve out the magwell
>>64837330oops meant to tag>>64836495
>>64835790>I want a good trigger that isn't gonna beat the shit out of the internalsEven if someone said to you that it was good to go, it would still doesn't matter because parts hardness, obviously, is completely different from one rifle to another, sometimes even completely different from the same rifle model from the same manufacturer. That being said it seems that it's not shipped with a hammer (?) so that's already something less to worry about. Altough, a hammer beating parts to death tells more about the quality of the parts than the hammer itself to begin with but some mfs aren't ready to have this discussion.
>>64837487Depends on the gun. I think that a lot of the US triggers are overly hard compared to surplus triggers. I also suspect that a lot of people with aftermarket triggers end up having to immediately reprofile them (for cycling purposes) which saves their rifle from being mushed. Depending on which method was used to harden the hammer, the hardest part of the hardening can range be anywhere from a few microns to a few thousandths deep which will naturally be ground off if you reprofile the hump.
>>64825739Woah that guy is really weak. My 10 year old daughter can rack an AK in one motion
>>64833709Where do I get a good old style galil with wood furniture? All I can ever find is jra slop
>>64838279You're gonna get JRA slop, Southern Tactislop, or a kit build after waiting 2 years at Hillbilly Firearms, and you're gonna fuckin like it.

>>64836746>CATAren't those pretty low back pressure?>CycleAFAIK those dumb gay retarded 182gr 7.62x39 were developed for legitimately bolt guns. They certainly won't cycle and SBR AK, and they would be my last suggestion for cycling a 16" AKIf you look around you can find Brown Bear 196gr subsonic 7.62x39, both new from vendors and from guys selling it used on AKfiles, reddit, and Tacswap. Hornady SubX 255gr also is pretty easy to find new from vendorsBoth of these should cycle a mil spec gassed 16" AKM especially if you have a moderately high back pressure can. Brown Bear 196gr cycles my 16" SKS with both a Dead Air Sandman K and a SilencerCo Omega 300https://sgammo.com/product/200-round-case-762x39-hornady-255-grain-subx-subsonic-ammo-80787/https://www.k-var.com/ammo-brown-bear-762x39-196gr-fmj-500-roundsDon't get me wrong, buy a box of the PPU 182 grain and see, but don't be surprised if it doesn't cycle. Also 182 grain is insanely dumb and weak and gay when barrel twist rate stabilization not withstanding, clearly you can fit a 255gr hollow point of all things in there and load it for subs. No reason why 7.62x39 subs don't START at 255gr except yeah the stabilization issue I guess.
>>64837000That sucks man. I paid $1,299 for mine from PSA back RIGHT before Covid in 2020. I think Sportsman's had them for like $1,199. >>64838853Thanks for that. Yeah the CAT is low back pressure, and after digging around a lot more it looks like the PPU 182's are not designed to cycle at all. I may still pick up a couple of boxes for the fun factor and/or hunting.

>>64832768>By default it won't extend far enough because you might bend itbrother, what the FUCK, I'm glad someone else noticed that too. I felt like I was absolutely maxing out the arm in the jig doing my krink rear folder short rivets. also WHY is that gas port drilled so fuck-off huge?not directly related, but I was getting really tired of the threaded post rivet crusher inserts pancaking after 2-3 rivets. I expected them to last me at least 2-3 full builds. to their credit, I'd rather the insert give way than the receiver but.. still.
>>64846221>gas portIt came pre-drilled at 3mm. It just has a MASSIVE chamfer on it to help with alignment. Mine wouldn't even reach the bottom short rivets period. I just took the stopper down with an angle grinder so it was even with the rest of it. >pancaking That's weird. Mine hasn't done that yet after about 4 builds. Where'd you get your rivets from?
>>64846276Basically everything hardware wise came from AK-Builder, I assume the inserts I got just had scuffed heat treating. All the rivets crushed well and I did two by hand that were easier without the jig. I think those short rivets just absolutely suck and are more firm. Emailed the owner and he said it's to be expected but not that soon. Asked if the ram arm bent and I told him no and sent pictures. He was genuinely confused and offered new ones free but I just paid the $9 because he was cool about it. Got extra stickers so can't complain. Good dude all around. Picrel: i guess the gas port betrays the eye from a distance as I only drilled mine to 5/64ths -.0781~and it does look pretty huge due to the chamfering.
>>64846331Yeah Curtis is a great guy. I've got so many stickers that I don't know what to do with them. I used to do all my short rivets with bolt cutter jaws and I think I screw up way less with the AK builder jig.
Are there any Dragunov knockoffs worth buying in current year or are they all priced to the moon?

>>64849481You wearing panties under that skirt you kikelantic cheerleader? kek
>>64849702It's fine, I looked into it a bit since that post. It was Zastava PAP AK's that had issues with single stack bolts feeding from double stack mags. Zasatva made the bolts narrower but they also shortened the protrusion which caused it to not pick up rounds from the double stack mags which sit lower. Can you compare the bolts by holding the faces up to each other?
>>64849795I do not have a single stack bolt to compare it with, the double stack bolt was already what was in the rifle.>>64836702I just went off this image to confirm

>>64849933Based thanks this one looks cool. I thought they only made railed gas tubes. Can’t find a single review video of it thoughhttps://ultimak.com/product/acr2-long/
So I bought a few cheap Korean mags from a guy recently. When I went to load them if there's 19 or less rounds in them they feed fine, more than that and the bolt has difficulty passing above it. Tried on two of my AKs and one can clear it with difficulty but the other gets stuck and I have to remove the mag to fix it. Comparing one with one of my old surplus mags it looks like the feed lips are further apart which isbcausing the top round to sit higher than it should. Is this fixable or should I just trash the mags considering I only paid about $7 each for them?
>>64850554Trash the magazine bodies but keep the followers, floorplates, and springs. Korean mags typically work okay when new but the metal is soft and once it deforms you can't really fix them. Even if you do fix the mag the spot welds are still a joke anyways.>t. I tired to fix a KCI 40 round mag once but gave up.
is a bulgarian 74 kit build with non-matching parts but an original bulgarian chrome lined barrel a good deal for $750? It has good headspace and good rivets at least

>>64851865no
>>64851864are you sure anon? Even though the parts aren't matching? The headspace and rivets are great but non-matching bolt and barrel. I'm sorry I already sent them money otherwise I'd link it for you to buy
>>64851868but it has the norton antivirus guarantee!
>>64851871I desperately want an AK74 without a side rail. Side rails are nice for optics but my autism makes me want a slick sided AK74 for authenticity (most Soviet era guns didn’t have side rails) Trigger pins are also chromed which is a big plus in the realm of authenticity. My poor ass can only afford PSA and Arsenal AKs and neither are all that faithful to Soviet era guns.
>>64851874Believe it or not I've used that before. Bought a Windham Weaponry dissipator from Buds about 10 years ago. If the item's listed price goes below what you paid for it within 90 days of your purchase, you get the difference. They mailed me a check.
>>64851892>Trigger pins are also chromedSource?I don't think they're chromed, just left in the white/unfinished.
>>64851892just get a zpap m70 and accept the side rail, it was good enough for arkan and his tigers, its good enough for you
>>64851865LockNloaded is fine. I've bought guns from them before, and many others have as well. Face it you can get a WASR brand fucking new for $850. WBPs are dumb trash for faggot tranny redditors who only care about how the gun looks and literally just don't understand metallurgy. >>64851331You would need the correct front trunnion as well. True 100 series spec 5.56 bolts, barrels, and Trunnions are not easy to find. Hell I have a nice chrome lined 1:7 twist Bulgarian 5.56 barrel but it is one of those odd ones that is 23mm (AKM spec) but I think the front sight journal is 100 series spec? IDK it needs a real gunsmith though to do anything with. >>64846331Mein gott
>>64840881
>>64851942Oh, I always thought they were chromed because of how shiny they are in every picture I see, but that makes sense too.
>>64851949Weird I was watching this kino earlier: https://basedbooru.com/_images/1ce7b4fe4f9fc971b2399368edd7b8d3/71755%20-%20SoyBooru.mp4
>>64840881Those IzhMash tanks are so badass
>>64851859I bought from lockedloaded once and then someone immediately used my credit card to buy tickets on southwest. It was on a card i never use either.
>>64851331>$1299>Manufactured in the Republic of Azerbaijan AK market in current year is grim
>>64852363
>>64852443A combat grade AR is around $2000, a combat grade AKs are about that price as well. I don’t get why people complain about this. PSA gen 3 are available for $800, and sure while not as cheap as their $300 PSA ARs it’s still well within poorfag affordability range. I think what this really is is people upset they can’t get combat grade AKs for like $500 bucks anymore but to be honest you can’t get that in an AR ether.
>>64826469I want an ptr-91 so bad bros
>>64853238$1299 is a shitload of money for a sus country, the ammo coming out of Azerbaijan is dogshit
I wanna throw a thermal scope on the under folder. Specifically an agm rattler v2. It has no side plate. Would a dust cover mount or a gas tube mount get the eye relief closer to right? The only thing I'm really worried about is getting the eye relief right
>>64853404I'm thinking dust cover rail would be the best bet. Is the JL billet any good? What are the best direct fit akm dust rails?
>>64853238>A combat grade AR is around $2000What? You can do mil spec or better for under a grand
>>64851892>drill out rivets>weld up rivet holes>get refinished>???>enjoy slabside '74
>>64853282CETME parts kits are stupid cheap RN, man
>>64825723Bought a wbp nitrided barrel today because it looked cool am I in for 11 moa shots. I her the barrels are pretty chancy
hey faggots, what fucking mount should I buy and is the agm rattler v2 g2g?
>>64854503>Uf wasrIs the stock still solid? I was considering one of these
>>64854602I wouldn't know with the new production. Mines a 10/63 imported in the early 2000's, so it's really just a pm md65 parts kit with mixmatched century pieces and a wasr receiverBut my stock is milled and super solid. I've done some shit with this gun you wouldn't believe and it's still in immaculate condition. The stocks been folded and unfolded 1000's of times by myself and it still locks up nice and tight.
This week I am ordering a PSA Krink 5.56 and I dare one of your lowly larping faggots to give me ONE good reason why I shouldn't.
>>64854857>PSA>5.56 "Krink"There's 2 good reasons, faggot.
>>64854857No one who shoots guns seriously should buy PSA anything.
>>64854082>>64853282Can confirm, just received my OG barrel kit from J&G and it's immaculate except for the layer of oxidation on the metal. The barrel looks unshot, mirror finish too.Since I live in WA I can't just go buy a PTR or CETME (I'd love one too) so I'm gonna have to make one.
>>64853282How did you miss your chance when kikelantic had CA3 on sale for $650?
Should I get a SAM5? Misha said they’re g2g now
>>64854067Wouldn’t that compromise the strength of the receiver, though I’m not a welding expert, but usually welding decreases the strength of the metal, right?
>>64854857>PSADoes the PSA krink even accept surplus furniture?
>>64855131IDK un-arsenals give me the ick, stamped AKs are better IMO, lighter and generally cheaper. Sure the extra weight doesn’t matter much until you start putting accessories on it and suddenly it’s as heavy as an Sig M7.Optimal fighting rife weight in my opinion is around 8 pounds going more than that you really start to feel that extra weight on cross country rocks with a 40 pound pack. Picrel is similar to what I run. On the flipside though I would say a 12 pound 5.56 AK with a huge ass muzzle brake is the smoothest shooting piston gun you’ll ever run.
>>64854857You live in a free country, buy whatever you want bud. Whenever a LARPing brownoid or eurocuck is angry at you for using your God given constitutional rights to buy, own and bear arms just for the fun of it, just remind them it’s a free country and watch them shit their pants.
>>64847242You may not like it, but this is what peak 9x19mm performance looks like.
>>64855202Its not that simple. Welding inserts metal that is usually harder than the surrounding metal and can also mess with the heat treatment depending on the process used. Depending on the metal it can cause cracks but that's not really an issue here especially with small holes that aren't really stressed. Saiga conversions require the holes in the back to be welded up. Its also common for people to weld on an entirely new receiver section for slant back Veprs and Nornicos which is way worse than plugging a hole. I've plugged plenty of rivet holes and old scope rail holes and its never caused any issues for me. The worst thing about it is having to refinish the hole gun.
>>64855225Is it hard to learn/do right yourself? I’ve only ever worked with arc welders on big metal, gunsmith welding looks really difficult and skilled compared to what we do.
>>64855016>>64855023>>64854857For what it's worth they seem decent (see vid related) but maybe get a zastava m85 first https://youtu.be/fpJdDNFfGMI
>>64855234>Is it hard to learn/do right yourself? Not really. I taught myself to do it specifically for gun stuff. I wouldn't do it with stick though, all of mine were done with MIG. The holes are only about 5/32 so they're incredibly easy to plug as long as you clamp a backer under the hole. I think the most difficult part is grinding them down flush. Doing it with a die grinder + surface conditioning pads makes it look better than using a dremel. My first were wonky until I started use the die grinder. If you're already arc welding you've got the talent for it.
>>64855212How much fighting do you do with your “fighting rifles”?
