I need some help identifying this Mauser Bolt. Rock Island auction sold it to me as a 1907 Spandau GEW 98. I had issues fitting the bolt so I ordered a replacement which fits. Could someone take a look at the photos and provide the model/location/factory and all that Jazz. The original SN on the belt has been marked out but still visible. This was done for matching the rifle delivered. Greatly appreciated!!!

>>64829281Kina looks like picrel, which is apparently an Imperial German marking according to the guys in this thread:https://www.reddit.com/r/milsurp/comments/pvkzeo/just_noticed_this_marking_under_my_bolt_handle_on/
Any good ones in mind? I tried Reddit and specific Facebook groups
>>64829263>>64829272>>64829281There isn't enough surviving documentation from that period to specify which factory or government arsenal made this specific M98 bolt, but I can tell you it was made during the Imperial period 1898-1918, and not at the Amberg arsenal because they used the Bavarian lion for a firing proof on Gew.98 bolts/receivers rather than the Prussian eagle, which was used by the rest of the various German state arsenals and by the commercial manufacturers.
>>64829263>Is autistic enough about weapons to want to know all the little insignificant little details>Doesn't own a variety of reference books on the subjectI don't understand why people make this kind of thing so hard on themselves. This is the exact sort of thing that the internet is terrible for researching because the good works on the topic are new enough to still be in copyright, but not so new that all the cool kids are talking about it.
>>64830352I don't know about Mausers but all reference books I would like to know cost 500 bones or more IF you can even find a seller
>>64829263>>64829272>>64829281It's a Gewehr 98 bolt that's had its handle bent slightly. The bolt most likely was made between 1903 - 1918 based on the later style cocking piece it has. As for what manufacturer made it, I don't study the trends of inspectors or types of fireproofs enough to tell you that but there are some autists on forums that would be able to help you out.
>>64829879Have you considered the possibility that you don't have enough information to find out what you're trying to find out? It's like you found an old AA battery at the beach and you're demanding to know what it used to power
