That guns needs an HK pistol grip and an ambi selector (better yet an Arc-fire)
I really like my HK ambi bolt release hold open lever mod. I've liked right side bolt controls for a while now, for a variety of reasons. A while back Hutch and I pretty thoroughly confirmed that it shaves off measurable time during a reload being able to drop the bolt with the trigger finger as the left hand goes back up to the rail to reestablish front end control vs the left hand being busy dropping the bolt, THEN going back to the front of the gun.
My favorite part though is that it lets you lock back super easily with no silly t-rex arms pinch and dance nonsense. Whether for malfunction remediation or just admin tasks, being able to lock back while just keeping your right hand on the pistol grip just feels right. Helps with that feeling of the gun being locked into the right hand as an extension of the body.

Another big benefit IME is locking back when prone. Try it. Lay prone, and lock back the usual way and you have to scorpion your body like a fucking yoga pose to get it done, and legitimately you lift your body off the ground a fair bit, increasing exposure and profile.
With the right hand side bolt hodl open you can stay way more flat, and it is just way more ergonomic.

>>64836106
Which cerakote is this? You used a siphon gun?
I'm thinking of ordering some C-series and recoating a few of my suppressors, two that came in the raw and are super ugly, and one that came FDE and I want black.
>>
>>64836591
nta but why is it better? I was thinking about a 20” build with a2 furniture but I could see the triangle being better with the flat bottom.
>>
>>64836675
NTA but its more durable, easier on logistics (both parts are the same) and it has a better heat shield. I'd argue the A1 handguards with their taper is more ergonomic though.

Flat bottom is nice but the teeth on the a1 love to crack and then they fit poorly. The split in the middle vs along the side also sort of sucks since heat goes out the bottom into your hands.
>>
>>64836662
Yeah. I specifically ordered some of the higher temp resistance to see how it holds up in that regard
Some of the parts are krylon on one side and cerakote on the other to see how it compares for wear rate vs rattle can. Also reactivity vs TPU etc

You actually have one of those? All I see on their website is this CAD model so it looks like vaporware. The design is a bit suspect too: 45 degree F mode, 90 degree A mode [this is not A2 approved]
The cam lever rotates independently so there's all sorts of complexities that the selector was just never meant to have [Stoner didn't even believe in three-round burst]. I don't own an auto reset mod but the Arizona Regulator looks more sound because it's less of a deviation from mil spec

Many moons ago people were obsessed with increasing hit rate on moving targets at medium close ranges. The assumption being that more rounds fired = more time for the operator to track the stream of fire onto the mover. This is one of the reasons the scar ROF is intentionally so low.
Gas pedal was to support that by giving you a shorter throw to auto and then when you relax your hand jumping back to semi. Based on the assumption being you will be over driving the gun to control it in auto and then relaxing it in semi precision shots.

Very much a meme and didnt go far because muscle memory + gun changing its own fire mode
>>64836968
Kynshot and KAK buffers do feel a little softer in terms of recoil. Almost more delayed than a typical impulse without negatively effecting ROF all that much.
JP SCS makes the recoil impulse feel much more smooth/consistent over time but reduces the operational window of the firearm. Once you over/undergas the spring its really just going to feel like terrible.
>Reduction in felt recoil
Eh I wouldnt say any of these alone will make a hugely drastic difference. You should be expecting a highly subjective single digit % of reduction. On the budget end you will also want to add a tubbs flatwire spring and maybe consider converting to A5. On the gucci end there is the OBC. On the insane end there are things like carrier tail screws and anti tilt buffers.

Post entire rifle for holistic recoil analysis.

I can find better financial advice from a gambling addict or hell even /biz/ than what one of your few brain cells had to muster in order to shat out that statement. The only reason why you pay for so much, is not because its "high quality", because they are don't get me wrong, but you are paying government contract money instead of normal consumer price. Because the bulk of sales of most of these defense companies are from the government, not (you). Most of these defense companies don't care about the average Joe that works a 9-5 and likes going shooting out at a range with a few of his buddies, maybe has some PVS-7s or even a PVS-14 monocular and wanna go LARP with nods for a night or so, and expects you to pay the same amount or more for their civilian IR laser equivalent ranging from $2k-$4k

TL;DR You're a fucking dumb faggot with more money than brains if you think paying for these things at full price is a smart idea.

Lol wut? You been under a rock? They've legit shipped like over 35,000 units now at this point. I have almost 2k rounds on mine. Works great. Buy one.
>45 degree, 90 degree
They have a mil style 90 to 180 but honestly IMO 45, 90 would be superior IMO.

Nice triggers are nice. Even for just like a basic carbine a good two stage can be nice, especially for shots where you want to hit smaller than say 8MOA. That being said, as much as I used to onsess over them, these days I care a lot less especially for a short gun that isn't being taken out past 400m that often.

So honest question is there a way to stop media playing in the background of the smart iphones there has been more than one occasion where I was watching AR15 videos for a hour or two in bed with my wife and I get a phone call from my boss or son and I answer it to see if they need help at the local shooting range with their AR15 problems then after like 3 seconds the media will play in my ear and I have to say “Hold on my AR15 video is playing give me a second” and then I have to remove the phone from my ear and swipe up to get rid of the keypad screen find the video app and end the process, then go back to the call and say “Okay my AR15 video is no longer playing what’s up?”

My fellow African Americans.
On this month of black history and excellence I believe a celebration is in order.
I have noticed a full size bcg, would this function with an frt or super safety?
Would this function at all?
My melanated brothers on the black side of the internet have told me they have put hundreds of rounds through them.

Why are they so hard to find?
They look a lot better than the m4 and m5 in my humble opinion.
From what I’ve read, besides using. weird battery, they remain to this day, the best Aimpoint red dot.

Round handguards are noticeably more solid.

Triangulars damage easily, the two halves connect where they are the weakest and lack the continuous keyed ridges of the round handguards. Triangulars crack around the vent holes, rattle, squeak, you can squeeze them with your fingers and they either get too loose, or you shim them to prevent wobble which makes them extra hard to remove.

Round handguards are rock solid in comparison, keeping a tight fit without extra pressure against the slip ring so they are still easily removed. There's zero play, zero rattle on my otherwise pretty worn rifle. The seam goes through the strongest part of the plastic casting (there's a reinforcing ridge there) and the ribbing offers a bit of extra grip in slippery conditions (wet leather gloves come to mind, or sweat+bug juice on palms in summer), which helps with keeping steady grip and pushing the stock into shoulder (probably also with bayonet thrusts but that's not really my concern).

The triangulars are sexier, though. Yet the Filipino Army/90s Nat Guard/Heat cops/Paul Harrel Special look of A1 with A2 handguards has been growing on me for a long time...

>Euro compliance
Correct.
Not sure if the auto sear hole is reamed, but it's blocked by a stainless rod with peened ends across the lower rcvr. Censored spot on the upper bears some numbering lasered by the "manufacturer" as part of the civvy semiauto conversion process. It was not done by any military that this rifle went through.
>Cyrilic
Ukie juice boxes readily available in "russian" food stores all over Europe. Bought it because of picreal, I like to bring little treats for friends (and myself) on innawoods trips. Sadly it's getting increasingly difficult to find places to go with no people around.

I have been paying the least amount of attention to the Super Safety method of auto reset because having a cam lever swinging inside the receiver strikes me as mechanically unsound
>2k rounds on mine. Works great
You've been reporting inconsistencies between triggers and lowers. You're still in the process of "tuning" last I read
>Buy one
Wuggy, I... would rather have the Arizona Regulator. Note the mil spec trigger, "disconnector" and selector

>blocked by a stainless rod with peened ends across the lower
Grim!
>upper bears some numbering lasered by the "manufacturer" as part of the civvy semiauto conversion
A duplicate of the factory serial number there would make sense given the upper is classified as the firearm itself in Yrup. I imagine you have the option to purchase a proper lower separately and install it to your upper for actual select fire in a WROL situation

Might be the extremely limited production, janky website, noncompetitive pricing, paranoia about having true select fire components, shortsighted decision to launch with the crummy two-position models that require filing or the late introduction to the market

The three-position model shouldn't have any provided that the auto sear relief "pocket" in the upper receiver is both this deep and close to the rear lug [dimensions upon request]. Your AR-15 is within mil spec– right, anon?

Have they fixed those? Only ar-10 that remotely interests me is dd’s offerings but if ruger got their shit running reliably that would be cool. My homie had an early one that sucked cock. His bcg has been replaced maybe twice now and has a riflespeed gas block and now you can actually get through 100 rounds without a failure to feed or extract. I gotta ask him how its been running, its been a while since ive gone shooting (with him)

It also had a second trigger in case of a failure to fire but Robert McNamara (def sec) thought the feature was too expensive so it was omitted from the production model. This flagrant austerity would cost American lives during Vietnam.

The KS-1 is a 13.7 inch DI AR-15 with a heavy barrel. Now why the fuck would brit retards want a 13.7 inch barrel? No fucking clue. Maybe they want to larp as Americans who have to pin and weld their 13.7s to 16 inches to not violate the NFA.

How well do the SureFire pro mounts work? With they stay put if you crank them down good? I haven’t heard anything bad but the swivel seems a little less secure than the old style mounts.
>>
>>64842010
the part that moves will loosen up over time depending on how much you shoot and what you're doing with the gun. it's really not a big deal though. It's not like every time you go to the range it's flopping around afterwards unless you're pressing it into a vtac or something otherwise it will be fine the vast majority of the time but once in a while you might notice it needs tightening.

Are the new generation of MCX uppers terrible? I know there's some reason to shit on Sig but from what I can tell the newer production has solved a lot of the common issues.
Every time I see MCX mentioned on the board it seems that it comes with a lot of derision but I can't tell if that's people memeing or if they have actual issues because nobody explains themselves
