why isn't my spaced armor design working
Yeah
>>64836773Because you're retarded, since the lasted version the game negates spaced armour like that. Just add 4 or 5 layers of 50mm or 60mm plates and you're done.
It works fine on my machine.
>>64836780On top of the first layer being at 50 or more, and angled for better deflection.
>>64836780is it a glitch or purposeful?
>>64836773game name?
>>64836816Sprocketthe recent updates have made the game playable, and its pretty fun nowi have no idea what i'm doing, but i like making tanks either way
>>64836825If you put the smoke launchers on the front of the side equipment bins they would be significantly less likely to be damaged if it rolled through dense brush. They would obscure the view from the side viewports less as well.
>>64836850its a smart smoke screenneed smoke? shoot smoke!enemy shoot you? since theres smoke, they can't see you anymore!it is truly the "active protection system" of it's time
>>64836789Its on purpose, the dev increased penetration and spall from shell hits, anything bellow 20mm or 25mm get immediately penetrated now.The meta is now one front face plate of 50+mm and five or four subsequent layers of 30+mm of thickness. Depending on how high you want your armour protection. For me 65/35/35/35/40 stops a 105x617 round penning ~400mm of armour. Also add some angle to it to increase the protection, do like the Abrams or Leo2
>>64836859good to knowin OP, i was just testing to see if the armor worked at all (thats why its being shot flat, for consistency), but i wasn't seeing any differences between there being any voidsjust felt a bit confusing since from what little i know, spaced armor is suppose to at least be a "little" better (when compared to the same thickness)
>>64836875While I have absolutely no expert or detailed knowledge, I've always been under the impression that your plates should generally be a bit thicker, have more of an angle compared to the incoming shot and need more space to permit the imparted yaw to develop. No idea how accurate these videos are but the first one really shows the deflection. https://youtu.be/157S9n8EQXwhttps://youtu.be/oyxcUAs7X-c
>>64836875Not that much, what they're really good for is stopping ricochets, most if not all rounds you dig into the plates and stay there. You also don't need to add more plates to increase the protection, just increase their thickness.
>>64836773Besides you assuming sprocket has an advanced physics based armor penetration model instead of a vibes based model, that design wouldn't work IRL either, not enough spacing between the plates for residual stresses in the projectile to continue to erode it, and definitely not enough space to take advantage of any yawing effect (besides there not being any angle to the plates to cause a yawing effect to begin with). This only applies to high velocity projectiles (think APFSDS) which AFAIK aren't really modeled in sprocket. For lower velocity projectiles, spaced armor generally needs far larger gaps to make it effective. The main mechanisms are damaging the projectile and yawing the projectile, the former doesn't care* about spacing, but you still need spacing to prevent the previous plate from damaging the next plate prematurely for this to help. Yawing as previously discussed requires quite a lot of spacing.*in cases where the projectile is shattered spacing becomes pretty critical to allow the shattered projectile to come apart.
tell me why I should buy this game, anons

>>64837061
>>64837061you can use any image as a camo
>>64836773Your face plate is too thin and your reflecting plate array is too thin along with not being angled to the penetrator. A real life array like that does jack shit if your reflecting plates are just that: Not NERA. They don't provide any more resistance than a normal frontal hit.
>>64837075Take it back!
>>64837111Is it animated?
>>64836773>how do I improve spaced armorBy understanding what is physically happening during the impact(s)>in this video gameFollow the "physics" rules coded into the game...>no but specifically howwwwwGo watch slo mo and cfd sim videos of examples of spaced armor and throw it all away because apparently the game decided it wants to be "fair" instead of "real"
>>64837275sadly not, only jpg's & png's can be usedtransparency works though, and you can scale the size tooemblems are also funi always put a camo design i made myself on the vehicles i like the most, such as image related
