I think that was the passenger just bailing or even just getting bounced/flung off . I don't think there's any way the driver could have exerted enough force, especially given his position directly in front of the passenger, to actually bodily shove the dude off the quad without really moving or twisting himself.
>>
>>64847654
nah, russians (and ukranians) have gotten quite good at the 'holy shit a drone, bail out' procedure as of late. Everyone jumps out and runs in different directions. Usually the done will go for the vehicle kill rather than chasing a particular mobik running away.

I can't even think of the last time I saw a boring grenade drop clip. It seems to all be FPV now. For a little while there were bunker busting dive-bomb-release drones that would plop a big explosive before zipping away, haven't seen those either

Gasses are horrifying, but also they really suck to use. Wind changes etc. They just aren't effective enough to be worth using. Similar flame throwers suck to use and are superceded by better ways to set things on fire. If things are effective, there is no simple 'lets not use it', even if the weapon is horrifying.

We banned chemical weapons because militaries figured out they're mostly good for terrorist strikes against civilians, and that's jsut not enoiugh of a niche to be worth serious investment. The one exemption to that was WWII, where instead we had the the hilarious situation of both sides seriously overestimating the other side's chemical warfare capabilities, causing everyone to refrain form pulling that trigger out of fear of enemy retaliation in kind.

How do you think they all ended up in that anti-tank trench? Do you guys think it was a bunch of small units that just built up over time or do you think it was a failed mass assault?

>>64848661
Bigger drones with bigger bombs, early ones were carrying VOG 17s and VOG 25s, maybe an F1 grenade drop. New ones can carry RPG warheads like the OG-7 that have a lot more killing power.
>>
>>64848661
The usual drones had a PG7VS and didn't create a lot of shrapnel, current drones can have 3D printer warheads with BB for shrapnel.
>>
>>64848497
Ukraine is trading territory to attrit Russia. Thats simply it. The goals are basically different. Ukraine wants to keep Russians attrition as high as possible. Russia wants advance at any rate, so they can say they are advancing to gullible people. Russia has no real hope to conquer all of Donbass, so its mostly a political move.

>how they rewired the aux light to the release mech
The version I was shown had a light sensor on the dropping mechanism that detected when the light was turned on. Thay way you didn't need to modify the drone. The dropper was a totally separate system from the drone

See the entrance? It was fortified. Place probably was guarded as well. This is the aftermath after ziggers were removed from the area. And look at the surveillance drone footage, there are no better places nearby.

>How do you think they all ended up in that anti-tank trench?
I remember seeing different videos of small groups of ziggers moving around that ditch with increasing numbers of corpses with every video.
So yes, bunch of small units getting blown up in the same place over however many weeks/months it took them to advance from there.
>>
>>64847690
Ukie drone team points system is paying more for a zigger than a soft vehicle, if they both bailed the drone would pick a man instead of the quad.
>>
>>64848661
Early war it was mostly VOGs which are small or PG-7Vs which have no frag.
For the last year or so they have been 3d printing casings that hold bearings and filling them with cast TNT basically making a 360 degree claymore.

Battlefield gas distribution is not only totally at the mercy of the environment, the area of effect is fucking contaminated for the side attempting to take it. Battlefield gas was a stupid idea that could never be defended as even vaguely controlled munitions, so it was easy for white people to agree not to use it in open terrain anymore (haha, too bad for anybody in a tunnel, tho. Those muthafuckahs are getting CS'd the fuck out of there). Of course the sand niggers still lethal agents in open terrain, but those savages can't be taught any manners.

There might be. At least since Afghanistan russians have held on to bodies for extended periods of time, mostly to conceal mass casualty events, making up smaller events and releasing the bodies to their families over time. It could be that an enterprising officer, when faced with too many bodies and not enough space chose to embrace jewish atlanticist anglo-satanic pallet technology and convert those mobiks into a more volumetrically efficient form.

Now, this still doesn't seem likely to me. The cubes were originally reported by a local woman who suspected that they were in fact dog food.
But, why did vatniks claim
>xaxaxa is hohol meat in wect ukraine
Then after it was geologated to inside Belgorod.
>niet! is meat from nearby meat packing facility
And said packing facility was actually a disused poultry shed.

We basically agreed to the ban because gas sucks as a weapon, it basically sucks so bad that every point in its logistics chain is a huge pain in the ass. Factories and military logistics decided that its simply better to make binary shells that produce the chemical in the shell it self before use so they dont have to deal with handling actual nerve agent and decided to transfer all of the fun to the guys running the ammo depo that might be in the enemies target list near the front line. When you are deploying the weapon you must make sure you have your CBRN guys on hand all the way from the ammo depo to the arty barrel in case some pvt deeznutz from iowa fucks something up or the generic case of shit happens, tends to happen in that particular case. And after you do decide to shell some malnourished, confused and unmotivated soviet backline troops with top shelf VX you now have a problem that you cant really take that position unless you wear a full body condom which still does not help and you and your company still ends up having 5% casualties per day while camping in the VX fun zone, assuming that weather effects like wind rain or whatever the fuck might happen does not just end up the gas or in VX case spicy oil ending up somewhere else. Everybody basically decided that its a shitty logistic way to kill people and that good old frag works way better.
There is no point in going all Hague convention over drones. They just optimize the frag delivery problem by turning your grenade in to a TV guided mortar with 20 km range.

If there is a technology that makes killing people logistically easy you bet your ass militaries will use it no matter how gruesome or inhumane it is.

Because those gasses cause enormous amounts of suffering and kill people over a long period of time where they die in abject agony. We DIDN'T ban incendiary weapons despite them seeming the same, because incendiary weapons are only really used for anti-material purposes, or in cases where they'd kill someone even faster than a gunshot due to asphyxiation. If you're hiding in a bunker and someone fills it with just enough chemical weaponry, you will die slowly and unavoidably over the course of several hours as you are subjected to such agony that you cannot even scream. If someone shoots a flamethrower into the entrance, the air will be sucked out of your lungs and you'll pass out within ten seconds, then be medically dead in two minutes. You probably won't even be burned or feel an especially large amount of pain. Drones likewise aren't really that different from or more cruel than blowing someone up with artillery.

They also tend to permanently poison the environment around them and can get into the water table. So there's that, too.

>isn't the ukrainian army counter attacking right now since starlink and tg is down for the russians?
Yeah, they made progress somewhere south of Pokrovsk I think.

There's been a village or two retaken but they're being hush hush about what because Russia might well not even know themselves which positions they've lost so there's room for quite some progress before they sort their comms out.

I would imagine Russia will try to intensify efforts somewhere at the front to try and draw Ukie forces away from offensives, like they (UA) did to save Kupiansk but Russia has been making "all-out" efforts to take the rest of Donbas by the end of the month for about three years now, so I'm not sure that would change much.

Let's just have all of our tactical planning done over a foreign system because we're too fucking retarded to have tech available to us that was standard to western forces almost thirty fucking years ago.
It's cheaper, blyat.
It still blows my mind they really haven't managed to improve a single fucking thing since the cold war.
>>

>we're too fucking retarded to have tech available to us that was standard to western forces almost thirty fucking years ago
They did have that sort of stuff, they technically still do but it's just not as good as starlink so it got sidelined because
>xaxa we're so cunning
>we use the enemy's tools against them

Using a foreign controlled digital device that connects to a foreign controlled network, is just the most retarded thing and there's no way that the soviet army would have fallen this low. They actually knew what they were doing in this area, Russia used to be good at this stuff.

I guess all those guys are retired/fled/cubed now.
There should still be quite a few army formations with adult comms available but clearly not at the front, those have been droned for years now and so they're probably using starlinks because their own comms gear was blown up and they can't get more because if they had that kind of pull, they wouldn't be on the frontline in the first place.

>>
>>64870725
>hundreds of years of being fucked by insane leadership and culling
It doesn't take that long, it just takes being raised in that environment for a single generation.
Recovery is hard because you're breaking a cycle of abuse, like teaching the children of violent parents not to instil behaviours in their children that raise new violent adults.
Actually falling into it though, just punish people for telling truth that contradicts anyone more powerful than themselves and enforce that in schools and workplaces and people will repeat whatever propaganda you drum into them.

Crushing the impulse to question authority isn't that hard, you just have to endorse it in your state institutions and legal system. Usually, regimes try to pretend that they're still democratic or whatever.

The bigger problem is corruption, Russia is corrupt from top to bottom with every business, every institution, every authority corrupted to its core.
This kind of rot takes a long time to set in but it's still probably just a generation or two. It can be fixed too, it was in Georgia for at least a generation before the FSB put a stop to and started walking back the reforms that accomplished this.

If they were truly reliant on Starlink for the vast majority of their communications, as well as cracking down on Telegram at the same time which we know is another major frontline communication tool of theirs, I'm not sure they'll be able to actually communicate and co-ordinate with anyone at a distance at all.

They can't fall back to radio without the risk of it being intercepted due to most of it being unencrypted and the more channels they keep open to jump around to maintain security, the less their EW will be effective because they can't risk broad-spectrum jamming without it leaving them both blind and deaf.

By the time a solution is found, I think it'll be weeks before even they know where they are.

You might be also interested in anything by Bill Browder. I only read 1 of his two but it was 100% accurate in its portrayal of Russian society during Putin's rise - about 2000 through early 2010s Russia.

It wasn't a whole brigade, it was a whole group of 100 *from* that brigade.
They sent 100 guys, 100 guys became cargo code 200 (corpse).
Though that's a misnomer because they're not being picked up to be shipped, they're still lying there so technically not 200 until they're being loaded into a logistics vehicle and listed on a manifest.

>I have vague memories of guys still crawling/walking away after near misses, but they seem to just die instantly now

When the offensive drone use first started, the drones typically dropped VOG-17 grenades which have very small frag and a relatively anemic explosive charge because they're designed to be burst-fired from the AGS series automatic grenade launchers and kill by area saturation.
Nowadays the FPV drone payloads are considerably beefier.

It's also much easier to prevent them from falling into the hands of people that might see value in massacaring civilians with them if they aren't there to fall into anyone's hands. And even if you're confident that you can keep them secure, someone less able to may see your buildup and feel they need some of their own.
Building a stockpile of something that would be by far most useful for someone to try and use against your own population is making yourself actively less safe and secure, which is just about the complete opposite of the usual intent of military spending.
>>
>>64871694
A lot of them also seem to have genuinely believed that the US and Musk were on their side. Not in the sense that someone in the west might mean it when they complain about policy either not helping or hindering Ukraine, but actual defacto alliance level delusions. Some had also convinced themselves that it was much more likely that Starlink would just be shut down to everyone instead of significant improvements to the blocking of Russian use.
Basically I think a lot of them had deluded themselves into thinking they were being allowed to use the service, when in reality they'd just not yet been properly stopped.
