Every rifle needs at bare minimum a sling, cleaning kit in the buttstock, cleaning rod, I didn’t have a cleaning rod for one of my SKS’s but I eventually was able to source one. A light is a good accessory, mounting an optic should be avoided if you are using a dust cover scope mount as those lose zero, I would only use a dust cover scope mount for a magnifier while mounting a red dot on a section of pic rail where the rear sight is. I would also avoid putting a red dot on a rail mounted on the handguard.

A front sight adjustment tool is a good thing to have, as are replacement posts for the front sight. I actually had a front sight break on a Russian SKS, had to order replacements and the sight adjustment tool as well.

Just chipping in as well as my best hopes to anon, but seconding this, my Aunt also had multiple miscarriages. It turned out she had a totally undiagnosed allergy and some of the stuff doctors were telling her to eat during pregnancy were the cause of the miscarriages, but it was hard to tell during each pregnancy itself because she didn't realize some of the bad feeling was from that since everyone was telling her "oh it's normal to get morning sickness and such during pregnancy". The two kids she did manage to have are awesome cousins, 100% healthy and successful now, have ended up more city people but still love going shooting with me when they visit.

But losing even one let alone multiple like that is deeply heart rending, takes time. God speed.

Honestly? While fully acknowledging that it's hard to predict the future, I am really genuinely not getting that vibe. Like, not even on leddit r/canada of all places, in general conversations, it's all full of highly voted stuff recognizing the facts here don't support the gun grabber story at all. You're paying for a Speedfeed stock on the A1, those are good and bad. They're cool in concept but stupid in practice, the springs wear out and shells come out easily sometimes. Plus you only have 2 shells on one side of the stock, and have to flip it over to get the others. It's inferior to a side saddle.
Metal trigger guard is nice but really not essential. Metal safety is a meme who gives a fuck even. A1 sights are alright but they're quite high and snag easily on webbing/clothes/etc.

Cost of the A1 is considerably more. The Shockwaves have a heavy walled barrel. You can throw a clip on fibreoptic front sight for $20. Having front and rear sights on a 12ga with a 14" barrel is pointless, these guns are for 60 yards or less in which case a bead/front sight is more than sufficient. They all use the same receiver which is tapped for an optic plate if you do want to run a micro RDS.

If you do wish to change the forend there are Shockwave specific forends available (not the same as 590 forends, different action bars). Not sure if the 590A1 uses 590 or Shockwave forends though.

TL;DR just get the shockwave, save money on gun price, use the remainder to buy aftermarket stuff that makes it better than the A1 overall.
