Why is it inevitable that everything will be turned into something soulless and boring sooner or later?
>>
>>64877419
It's only until the next breakthrough followed by the wild west of the tech's period while it matures.
>>
>>64877419
Soldiers don't determine anything. It's all missile strikes now.

So bring back fancy uniforms.
>>
>>64877419
I'ts simply the inevitable end state of globally interconnected cultural, economic, political exchanges that result in everything averaging out. This is just a law of nature, from the microscopic all the way up to man made "systems". Heat dissipates in thermodynamics, concentration gradients diffuse and homogenize, land animals have the same general color pallet, humans adopt whatever works and requires the least amount of investment.
>>
>>64877419
Soulfulness comes with time.
>>
>>64877419
everything evolves into crabs eventually
>>
>>64877419
>Why do people tend to use things that work instead of doing things for style points?
>>
I am so fucking sick of you idiots bitching about "soul" like it actually fucking matters
>>
The sovl arrives when you see all of the multicam american-style militaries use IFF tape broussards
>>
>>64879742
You seem like a fat fuck slob who wears a hoodie everywhere and plays gaccha games
>>
>>64879753
>NNOOOoooo, you have to have pretty camo on to be effective! Don't you know it adds +2 points to your charisma stats in game?
>>
>>64877419
Because soulless and boring is more efficient, so if you're looking to get the most utility out of a given amount of labor you get a greater number of more capable items if they're soulless and boring.
>>
>>64879761
500 more dollars to the gacha slop, goy
>>
>>64877419
>make good looking but trash gear
>make generic looking but actually good gear
the choice is obvious to anyone other than third world dictators
>>
>>64877624
Missile effectiveness is one of the most astroturfed things since the battleship. Missiles did shit against people without shoes slinging dumb rockets from the shore.

old (2000s) chink gear had some semblance of identity that clearly distinguished them from the rest. i guess that from a purely tactical point of view it makes sense to look like everyone else

when a new tech advance happens many people try variations of it until everyone converges on the design that is the most successful
thats why armies all over the world look mostly the same and are structured mostly the same with the main difference being the budget
>>

Drones.

Bring back the cool shit.

we're actually on our way there; allegiance recognition is a major factor in ukraine moreso than camo.

Why do you think I said
>on our way
dumbass?
>>
I get that guns have been figured out as best as they're going to get, but would it kill anyone other than KelTec and Chiappa to start making rule-of-cool designs? The big companies still need to pursue military and police contracts which are boring now, but it's so boring that they bring the same attitude to the entire lineup of products directed at private citizens. Unless that's what they're actually doing right now and I didn't realize that the obnoxious slide cuts, weird angles, and mismatched front/rear serrations is what's considered cool today.
>>
>>64887352
>Why won’t anyone make cool guns for me. Everything is boring and gay.
Machine time and R&D are expensive, Sales are hard. If you really want some cool shit download Fusion, FreeCAD, or Solidworks and design what the world needs, nigga. Once you have a design revise it until it can be manufactured, then find a machine shop, makerspace, or some tools which will help you bring it into reality.

kaczynski has the same problem most revolutionaries have, which is that they can see problems but not solutions. Industrial Society is significantly overrated; Ted wasn't a grifter, but grifters thrive because their ideals are never tested by reality and Ted's concepts benefit from that same phenomenon
>>
>>64887352
>I get that guns have been figured out as best as they're going to get,
Not even true, we just haven't had enough companies to be able to innovate consistently the last few decades. We haven't even swapped to thumb triggers yet.
